Welcome to Alba - Early Years Day Nursery, where children explore and learn in a fun, loving and nurturing environment.
As UK's first "Head Start - Joy Nursery", kindness, curiosity and mindfulness are at the core of what we do, creating a foundation not just for school, but for your child's long term wellbeing and learning for the rest of their lives.
Our curriculum is rich and broad - from utilising our vast outdoor space to do gardening and nature walks, to STEM experiments, mindfulness, yoga practice, cooking lessons, our sensory room and much much more.

September 17, 2018 at 12:00 amThe nursery is an excellent centre for early learning and provides an intellectually stimulating environment that is balanced with play-time activities. We are thrilled with how much our son has developed since joining Early Years Day Nursery and has achieved many great milestones. The staff are superb and go above and beyond their job. Great outdoors, fresh and nutritious food but most of all it has the most welcoming feel. We are extremely happy with the all-round development of our son. He is growing to be an active, balanced and confident child. We couldn’t have chosen a better nursery and highly recommend Early Years Day Nursery to any parent.

My children have been so happy here. The staff are so friendly and kind and the owner cannot do enough for you. A little gem of a nursery!

September 25, 2018 at 12:00 amMy daughter started The Early Years Day Nursery when she was nine months old and the settling in was so quick and that is because the staff were taking extra care over the small details of my child. Now we are all back to nursery again, my daughter is 3 years old. She can speak English and the staff make her feel good there. In this nursery, kids feel they are at home. The nursery is small and makes the children feel special. I would recommend this place in all aspects.

July 12, 2019 at 12:00 amWe are so happy to have stumbled across such a wonderful nursery. It feels like home from home. The staff are wonderful, most of them mothers themselves and our daughter has a lovely bond with them all. Although not a large nursery with one main room the nursery garden is set within a playing field and it feels as if you’ve escaped to the country. Meals are prepared on-site, which include a mix of variety and flavours. Our daughter will soon be moving out of the baby room and into the main pre-school room.

Everyone were very friendly and creative, I was amazed about the things they have done at the time when my son was there. Now he is in reception year at school and he feels very confident when studying. He has very good behaviour, very good English (we speak a different language at home). He was very well prepared for the big school, this was very important for us. It is a small nursery, and it feels like home. The owner is brilliant and loves being with the children and teaching them. The meals are cooked there and they can have as much as they want and it is always hot and fresh. They have a big playground and a huge field to explore.
In brief, I loved everything about this nursery.

August 11, 2021 at 12:00 amMy daughter has been at the nursery since she was a few months old. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. The staff are amazing and absolute experts in all areas of childcare. They helped me to get my daughter to vary her diet, learn the necessary social skills and hit every development milestone. My daughter is going to school shortly and I will be so upset to say goodbye to the staff, kids and the overall environment. The owner is phenomenal and really cares about all the kids and knows them all personally. She also knows all the parents. It is a safe environment with a perfect outdoor play area, due to the huge playing fields. Overall, I have absolutely loved this nursery and the staff, parents and kids have all been so lovely and warm. I wish them all the best of luck and would have no hesitance in recommending it to anyone with small kids. Thanks to everyone at the Early Years for your care and all your efforts.

This was our first nursery and their efforts to help settle my daughter at a slightly older age than the norm were brilliant. She developed communication skills and also learnt to mix with her peers. I felt she flourished.

He loves going in every day and comes home telling me what fun they had, each week they learn something new and their recent activity of watching caterpillars turn into butterflies has been one of his favourites.

June 1, 2022 at 12:00 amThe Early Year Day Nursery is a lovely environment for the children. The staff are like family. The children interact with each other as a community. The open space outside feels like you are in the countryside, and the children can take long walks exploring nature. The activities are very creative, and it is easy to engage with the teachers as they are kind and open.

July 28, 2022 at 12:00 amI could not be happier with the decision I made 2.5 years ago when my daughter started the nursery. The teachers and the directors, whom children call Grandma and Grandpa are just the best at the job they are doing. For my children and also for me, the carer for my little one is the greatest gift at the nursery. She taught and gave my daughter as much attention as she needed and cared about her and other children as much as she could. My daughter loves her to bits and says only the best things about her. Now my second daughter attends the nursery too and she loves it as well. I cannot wait until my son will start the nursery as well next year. I am recommending the nursery to everyone that asks about it. Five stars plus more for the Early Years Day Nursery.

August 8, 2022 at 12:00 amMy son left this nursery today as he starts school in September. He has attended for the past 3 and a half years since he was a baby. He has enjoyed going to the nursery and been really happy here. When we were potty trained him at home the nursery supported this when he was there and it was a great joint effort. He engaged in various activities to develop his skills and generally have fun! He often came home with stories of what he had learnt as well as pieces of artwork he had produced. He really enjoyed the food and complimented the chef often at home. The staff and managers are really friendly and helpful and I felt confident leaving my son with them as they are kind and considerate towards children. There are regular events and celebrations parents are invited to attend such as sports day and a Christmas party. My son made lots of friends. My husband and I highly recommend this nursery as does my son!

August 16, 2022 at 12:00 amWe have both our children attending the nursery (aged 4 and 2 years) and we are generally very happy. Both are keen to go and spend the time with the nursery staff and friends, they are caring and have the best interest for the children. Though they are not a pre-school, they help prepare the children for school: hand washing, toilet ready, dressing up on their own, reading and writing alphabet/numbers depending on the child’s pace, reading and writing their name. We feel they have been really good with our eldest son and challenged him more than we anticipated in a positive way. What remains challenging is communication: wanting to know more about the child’s progress. We had to request a meeting instead of it being organised/proposed in advance.
