LEYF started in 1903, a time of poverty and shockingly high mortality, as Westminster Health Society.
Founders, such as Margaret Horn, embarked on an ambitious plan to promote child welfare and family health at the heart of a community in need.
An incredible 45 years before the NHS, we were already pioneers – offering training in professional childcare, outreach and home visits, along with local drop-in sessions and classes in parenting.

May 16, 2018 at 12:00 amTownmead Community Nursery offers excellent education for my 4-year-old who has been attending full-time since she was 2-years-old. She has developed so much and learnt English to a native standard in a couple of months, even though it was her 2nd language.
I’m impressed by the staff’s professionalism, skills and dedication to make the nursery a happy and safe place that feels like a 2nd home.

The staff are an asset to not only the business but the community. They really are silent heroes. Nothing could ever repay them for the work with my child.

May 22, 2018 at 12:00 amOur nursery was awarded ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED and all children and parents were invited to celebrate such a great achievement. It was an amazing event and we had a sense of involvement and sharing. Children, parents and management all worked together and credits were given to all. Besides, we had a brilliant party! A great nursery!
Children are happy, given all the attention, parents are involved, management is open to suggestions, helpful and accommodating. Top Nursery!

Staff are very helpful, friendly and very professional. Our son, for the time being here, has learnt a lot and is very happy. Always talks about the staff at nursery and saying good words. Excellent, keep up with good work.

My 2 children attended Townmead Community Nursery and enjoyed it very much, even though they are very different in character and interests. I would highly recommend Townmead Community Nursery to any parent.

May 25, 2018 at 12:00 amWhen my son first started they helped him settle in quickly and smoothly, which I was pleased with. He has been attending for a while now and he’s made friends with both children and teachers.
I feel like since he first started to now it has slightly gone downhill as no one really tells you how your child is getting on, sometimes nappy would not be clean on pick up.

The staff are all lovely and genuinely care for the children they look after. he loves going to nursery and always enjoys it. He has learnt a lot since he has been there. We will really miss it when he leaves!

The staff are amazing and form a strong bond with all children. The confidence my children have developed has amazed me and it is all down to the nursery. Honestly couldn’t have found a better nursery to send them to!

May 29, 2019 at 12:00 amWe want to thank you for your hard work keeping our children safe and teaching them. Lovely nursery and pre-school. I feel the school and staff are working so well together and pupils feel the benefits. Wonderful teacher and the support they give is very much appreciated. Even though my son is still in the process of settling I do believe that he has improved socially and academically already. It’s truly wonderful! A very big plus is the Parent Zone by LEYI where we enjoy being able to log in and view our child’s daily activities and also contribute to this lovely journey.

May 29, 2019 at 12:00 amOur child very much enjoys going to the nursery school. She loves all activities that are open to them. As parents, we are happy to see our child develop so well. The staff gives a lot of individual attention to the children and we are impressed by the quick progress made by our child. Our child joined the nursery in September last year and did not speak English at the time. Now she is so confident and makes herself understood. The nursery also has great facilities, including an outside garden with plants (planted by the children). Children also go regularly to parks and playgrounds nearby and it offers good visits out of the school (eg. fire brigade, hospital, to give books to children there, dentist …).

The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) nursery has been amazing with her transition and I can see how she has developed in many ways in such a short space of the time.
The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF)team are so kind, supportive, welcoming, knowledgeable, encouraging and consistent in their approach. My daughter is learning a lot and building even more on her social skills. My daughter looks forward to going nursery to see her friends and also to see her nursery teachers.
My daughter has adapted and is more settled as a result of this. Thank you greatly.

She has only just started here a short while ago and already loves the nursery. She has made so many friends and I can see the love and care the staff have for my little girl.
