LEYF started in 1903, a time of poverty and shockingly high mortality, as Westminster Health Society.
Founders, such as Margaret Horn, embarked on an ambitious plan to promote child welfare and family health at the heart of a community in need.
An incredible 45 years before the NHS, we were already pioneers – offering training in professional childcare, outreach and home visits, along with local drop-in sessions and classes in parenting.

I sense like since he first started to now it has slightly gone downhill as no one really tells you how your kid is getting on, sometimes nappy would not be spotless on pick up. When my son first started they helped him settle in quickly and smoothly, which I was pleased with.

He has learnt a lot since he has been there. We will really miss it when he leaves! My son and I have had a very positive journey with his childcare centre.

Our son, for the time being here, has learnt a lot and is very cheerful. Consistently talks about the team at childcare centre and saying great words. Outstanding, keep up with great work. My son enjoys being in Townmead Community Childcare centre a lot.

I would highly suggest Townmead Community Childcare centre to any parent. Townmead Community Childcare centre’s team is very competent and inviting and knows how to make kids sense welcome and comfortable.

The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) childcare centre has been incredible with her transition and I can see how she has developed in many ways in such a short space of the time.
The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF)team are so compassionate, supportive, welcoming, well‑informed, encouraging and consistent in their approach. My daughter is discovering a lot and building even more on her social skills. My daughter looks forward to going childcare centre to see her friends and also to see her childcare centre educators.
My daughter has adapted and is more settled as a result of this. Thank you greatly.

Fantastic teacher and the assistance they give is very much appreciated. Even though my son is still in the process of settling I do believe that he has improved socially and academically already. It’s truly fantastic! A very big plus is the Parent Zone by LEYI where we delight in being able to log in and view our kid’s daily activities and also contribute to this lovely journey. We want to thank you for your hard work keeping our kids secure and teaching them.

I’m impressed by the team’s professionalism, skills and dedication to make the childcare centre a cheerful and secure place that feels like a 2nd home. Townmead Community Childcare centre offers outstanding education for my 4-year-old who has been attending full-time since she was 2-years-old.

February 24, 2025 at 9:21 amShe loves all activities that are open to them. As parents, we are cheerful to see our kid develop so well. The team gives a lot of individual attention to the kids and we are impressed by the quick development made by our kid. Our kid joined the childcare centre in September last year and did not speak English at the time. Now she is so confident and makes herself understood. The childcare centre also has excellent facilities, including an outside garden with plants (planted by the kids). Kids also go regularly to parks and playgrounds nearby and it offers great visits out of the school (eg. fire brigade, hospital, to give books to kids there, dentist …). Our kid very much enjoys going to the childcare centre school.

Honestly couldn’t have found a better childcare centre to send them to! I have two kids at this childcare centre and they both adore it there, one will be attending school soon and does not want to leave!

Kids are cheerful, given all the attention, parents are involved, management is open to suggestions, supportive and accommodating. Top Childcare centre! Our childcare centre was awarded ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED and all kids and parents were invited to celebrate such a excellent achievement.
