August 11, 2022 at 12:00 amMy son has gained more confidence in putting more sentences together, he gets great support from his teachers, Getting regular updates during the day regarding the kids is absolutely amazing, teachers are well knowledgeable on what the kids needs and are also ready to help.

November 14, 2022 at 12:00 amThe staff are brilliant and all seem very caring towards the children. Lots of nice activities going on throughout the day. Management and room transitions need work, there is no good transitional period between room changes. Communication with management is patchy and inconsistent.

November 17, 2022 at 12:00 amThe staff are incredibly friendly and caring. They really do have my child’s interest at heart and have really focussed their energy on helping her settle in. I would love for them to send app updates in a timely manner, not at the end of the day though.

The nursery has outstanding rooms and a great outdoor play area. All the staff greet us daily with big smiles! We would highly recommend it.

November 18, 2022 at 12:00 amLovely clean building. The outside space is small for the size of the nursery, although it is tidy and spacious with a number of things for the children to do. The staff are very friendly. Communication with change could be better, for example, if staff have left or moved to another room leaving a change of key worker, this isn’t communicated and we have to ask when it’s noticed had not seen a staff member for a couple of weeks. However, all staff appear to be really good with the children. My child does a range of activities and she has developed a lot since attending this nursery. My child is happy going to nursery and talks about nursery when not there. We are pleased with it and would definitely recommend it.

November 18, 2022 at 12:00 amMy son enjoys his time at nursery and is happy to be dropped off in the morning, and in a good mood when I pick him up in the afternoon. Good range of activities and a rotating food menu. A warm welcoming atmosphere and a nice modern clean building. My main criticism would be the lack of communication between staff members, for example, I’ve asked that my son be put down for a nap on his full days, but not all staff members seem aware of this so perhaps they need a system in place for this. However, in general, happy with this nursery.

January 25, 2023 at 12:00 amOur son loves attending nursery, he has transitioned from babies to toddlers and this has been managed well with good communication throughout the process. He has developed enormously through his time at The Old Station and the staff are always willing to collaborate and support us in the choices we make for him and our family. Couldn’t really ask for anything more.

April 17, 2023 at 12:00 amMy son first joined The Old Station Nursery when it first opened up in 2021. We did move him from another nursery for a number of reasons and we haven’t looked back since. My daughter now attends the same nursery but in the older babies room and we are ever so thrilled with the high level of care and attention that the nursery gives to the children. The staff are very approachable and deal with any issues straight away. My daughter and son always come back full of smiles and tell us what they have been doing or what they have learnt during that day. Thank you The Old Station Nursery for making it such a warm, friendly atmosphere for our kids.

April 17, 2023 at 12:00 amMy son started at the nursery in March and I was so shocked at how quickly and well he settled. He’s made such amazing connections and relationships with the staff, who have bent over backwards to learn and know everything about him to make his experiences 10/10. Nothing is ever too much for them and he loves being at nursery, to the extent he will happily go to them in the morning. They have made my experience of returning to work so much more easier knowing he’s in such caring hands. The staff in babies 1 are outstanding and deserve endless amounts of recognition for their hard work and dedication to the children, it’s like a giant family not just childcare. Thank you! X

April 21, 2023 at 12:00 amEveryone in the nursery is caring. My daughter learned a lot since she started going to nursery. Every day she is excited to go to nursery. Plenty of toys are available to play and kids can enjoy and learn.
Overall, I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a caring and stimulating environment for their child. The staff, facilities and overall atmosphere were all top-notch and I felt confident that any child would thrive in such a positive and supportive environment.

Staff are lovely and they put so much effort into teaching the kid little things while he is playing. From good manners to counting to other learnings, I can’t thank them enough.

June 6, 2023 at 12:00 amThe first one-hour session, our daughter was soaked through. She was ill after this.
I went to collect them, they were in a different class, the kids weren’t ready for me to collect. I walked into the upstairs room and our daughter popped out from a desk by herself shocked that I was there. I couldn’t see our son, I was shouting him. I got no help from staff standing around, our son heard me and he came running to me from a window ledge that he was sitting on by himself. I then had to go back downstairs and get their bags, coats, Easter bonnets (which were on a window ledge) then get the kids to find their cups, with no help whatsoever from the staff. Anyway, we have taken them out. We don’t think that nursery is suitable for our kids. We expected the kids to be ready and waiting for us to collect them but that didn’t happen here. All I can say as a mother, if you love your kids don’t put them in here. (Not enough characters to do a full review) We were disappointed with this nursery!

July 13, 2023 at 12:00 amMy daughter has been there for over two years. Has had about 5-6 key workers in this time which has made it extremely difficult to bond with anyone. Received funding when she turned 3 years old yet still get invoices charging £9 for a half day and £18 for a full day for food which I have no alternative but to pay! No option for packed lunch as you still have to pay the charge regardless. On the whole a good nursery but due to the lack of availability in the area people are being forced to pay these prices. Do not even provide branded cereals or any other premium activities or gifts which my daughter has brought home. Would expect a lot more considering the costs involved glad she’s leaving and starting reception soon, might be able to start saving some money. Those who receive the 30 hours of funding need to be aware of the additional costs involved.

The nursery also looks super clean at all times which is commendable considering they work around kids daily.

July 28, 2023 at 12:00 amReally happy with The Old Station Nursery. My little girl started at 10 months and they have done everything possible to help her settle in. The staff in the baby room are so kind and caring and listen to what we want for our little girl regarding routine, sleep etc, and she has such a lovely relationship with her key worker.
