Settling in took some adjustment, but the team were so attentive not only to him but to us as parents too. Constant regular contact, and clear happiness to listen to any concerns or questions we had, as well as make changes to help our son adjust, meant that we felt truly comfortable during this disruptive period. He quickly became used to childcare centre life and it was clear that the affection between him and the team members went both ways, with him obviously feeling highly secure in their presence. This was especially useful as forest school introduces kids to such new experiences, which take some getting used to. The team expose the kids to remarkable adventures, making use of the streams, trees, woodland, wildlife, and other aspects of nature all available to them in the park. Now a proper toddler, our little boy has flourished in walking, talking, and exploring, all thanks to The Butterfly Patch. My little one joined the childcare centre in Spring 2021, as a 1-year-old pandemic baby.

I cannot speak highly enough of the childcare centre. It is the antithesis of the other nurseries we looked at where kids are stuck in a room with other kids their own age all day. Instead, the kids mix with each other, regardless of age, in a lovely space which lets them roam free. But the real joy of this childcare centre is the time the kids get to spend outside. I adore seeing the updates of my son exploring Morden Park and getting muddy! The team are fantastic. The childcare centre is small so they can take the time to get to know each kid’s needs. They are consistently smiling and enthusiastic and bring real enjoyable to the childcare centre. My son absolutely loves it there and even though it takes me half an hour to drive there it is so worth it. I hate the idea of my kid stuck in a room playing with the same old toys. At the Butterfly Patch, his creative playtime can run wild and so can he! Our son has been attending here since September 2019.

The constant string of ideas is admirable and the team enthusiasm at the childcare centre is infectious. Have already suggested to all our friends and would still suggest it to anyone. We are exceptionally cheerful with the Forest Childcare centre, we adore the concept of trying to keep our son outside as much as possible but most importantly he loves it too and has greatly developed his skills.

The team are welcoming and well trained. The forest school aspect of the childcare centre is why we chose it in the first place. The forest school team encourage kids to explore and interact with the world around them. This has developed her social and inquisitive nature. The regular updates on the app throughout the day allow parents to rest assured that their little one is secure and well. We are truly pleased we chose the Butterfly Patch, Morden. Our daughter has been at the Butterfly Patch in Morden for 1.5 years now and she loves it.

Our son is truly settled after just a few months. They take the kids out each day – including the babies – and do things we wouldn’t normally do helping them to develop and be creative. Welcoming and attentive team and outstanding updates Incredible team and childcare centre.

The whole operation runs so smoothly and all the kids are given enormous amounts of attention. We adore how much time they spend outside, getting used to the outdoors with a seemingly endless and imaginative list of activities. All of this is reported to the parents in excellent detail using an app and we sense we know what our kid is doing each day. They seem to be cheerful to cater to any dietary requirements and our picky son seems to adore the food, they tell us on the app exactly what and how much he ate. Three months in and he now runs to the door whenever I say “do you want to go to childcare centre?”. They also genuinely care about his development, they flagged up several milestones that he wasn’t hitting and heavily encouraged us to solve them, with supportive suggestions. We also adore how inviting they are and how much time they seem to have to cuddle the kids that need it and they have chickens! The childcare centre manager is a genius.

My daughter loves going to childcare centre. We have no tears or problems at drop off. The activities are varied and she enjoys them. They go out into the forest regularly. She learns so much while she is there. The team are highly compassionate and attentive.

Kids are constantly kept entertained, secure and interested in the world around them. I am astounded each week by the development my daughter has made and all the little things she picks up. The setting is small and cosy but with excellent grounds for the kids to explore. Cannot suggest this place enough! Remarkable team who are consistently full of energy and enthusiasm.

Our son has been attending since June 2020, and it is so fantastic that they get to explore the outdoors almost every day, sometimes twice a day. They do everything from sliding down mud hills, splashing in the stream and building/watching outdoor fires (both obviously closely supervised) to indoor painting, messy playtime and singing songs. We have been thrilled at how active it is and to see how much our son loves it and benefits from social interaction. We also adore that they use the app, so we get photos of what they are up to in the week, and the team are genuinely lovely and consistently reply to our posts and give us anecdotes about our son. They use outside caterers, so the quality of the food is excellent, which was also important to us. They don’t have a separate sleep room, which was my only concern at first, but I needn’t have worried – the kids soon settle in and naps went back to their normal 1.5/2hr duration fairly quickly. We are huge fans of the childcare centre.

We have seen so much development made by our daughter since joining The Butterfly Patch Morden Park Forest School and Childcare centre six months ago. Initially she was shy and reserved but it didn’t take long before she couldn’t wait to go each morning. She has made so many friends in a short space of time, even during the pandemic and clearly has made great friendships with the team there. The childcare centre team are truly accommodating and expert while remaining relaxed and understanding of individual parents attitudes and priorities. The updates has been greatly improved since moving to the new app, where we get regular updates and photos on what she is doing, how she is interacting with others and photos of her outdoor and indoor activities. The childcare centre is not large but has so many activities to keep the kids discovering and intrigued and it’s excellent to see the workers teaching the kids about nature, recycling and respect at such a formative age. They have also handled care in the pandemic well. Couldn’t be happier!

The team have been incredible and he settled quickly and nicely. The constantly active lifestyle, need to go outside and curiosity to explore are contributing to turning him into a gentle, nature-loving boy who has incredible climbing skills! The carers do an incredible job of integrating aspects of discovering in kid-led playtime and our boy is thriving and making so much development on fine and gross motor skills, language and social skills. The extended hours are a big plus as we’re both working parents and we’ve been able to take advantage of some incredible offers to add in extra days when needed. Management runs smoothly. We sense able to speak about our kid’s needs (dropping dummy, increasing naps, etc) and the team will go above and beyond to help out. We highly suggest the childcare centre to anyone who listens! Our son has been going to the Butterfly Patch since he was 6 months old.

The team are incredible, consistently going above and beyond to make her sense welcome, loved and included. The activities they do every day are well planned and executed, she often comes home covered in mud with a huge smile on her face about how they hunted for bugs, built a den, jumped off logs into huge puddles and looked after the chickens. It’s consistently a challenge picking her up as she never wants to go home, that’s a excellent feeling. The Butterfly Patch Forest School at Morden Park has literally changed our lives, my daughter has been going there for about nine months now and absolutely loves it.

She’s grown into a highly curious, adventurous, social little girl with a excellent vocabulary and incredible motor skills with their help and care. The team are remarkable and especially the forest school educators, whose passion for outdoor discovering is phenomenal – the kids get to playtime outdoors and learn about nature, while climbing, digging, discovering wildlife, carrying/transporting, painting and sculpting, splashing in rivers, climbing trees, building dens, along with dozens of other activities – we’re highly lucky to have the benefit of their skills and knowledge. My daughter absolutely thrives at the Butterfly Patch.

The daily Forest School activities have truly increased my kid’s self‑assurance but also their ability to understand boundaries and stay secure in potentially dangerous situations – near rivers or in high places. My kid has learnt to approach the top of the stairs on their knees and looks over the edge laying on their belly to guard against potential falls, for example. The Forest School activities will advance with them as they grow and will stay with them as valuable life skills. As a Forest School childcare centre, the kids journey a wide range of outdoor led activities as well as the usual indoor sticking, painting, model making type stuff you would expect.

The creativity of the team knows no boundaries, and we adore how they encourage the kids to explore nature. Next to the usual reading, numbers, singing and craft playtime, they learn lots about nature and develop a strong bond with their educators. The food is healthy and delicious, our son rarely doesn’t finish, more likely he asks for more. And during the pandemic, they managed all procedures and communications excellently. I would highly suggest it to any family with outdoorsy kids! Our son loves the childcare centre, they spend most of the time outdoors and have incredible activities.

I moved my son to this childcare centre earlier this year and he has absolutely flourished. He loves going and can’t stop talking about all the things he has learned. The team are welcoming and engaging but most of all they care.
Kids are kids here. They playtime outside and learn through being active and exploring the excellent outdoors. This is what young kids are meant to be doing! Thank you to all the team. This childcare centre is a cut above the rest.
