St George's Nursery Edinburgh

My son started at the nursery this August and we couldn’t be happier with the experience we have had. The nursery staff gave us several opportunities to visit, look around and ask questions before he started and made the effort to phone and contact us to check we were happy too. Our son settled very quickly into the Little Ducklings, thanks to the extremely warm and caring staff. I feel they really got to know him quickly and were able to respond to his individual needs. He is ever so happy being there and really looks forward to going in, playing outside and seeing his new friends. The space and equipment are fantastic. I have loved getting regular updates through the Learning Journal – the photos give you a wonderful little window into the experiences the little ones are having.

We are absolutely delighted we chose St George’s Nursery for our little boy. It is such a small, warm and caring environment and all the staff are so friendly, he warmed to them all immediately. The facilities are excellent and because it is part of a school there are lots of other on-site opportunities that the Nursery take advantage of (Library, Gym Hall, etc). As parents, we feel happy and confident to drop him off in the mornings because he is so happy to be there and is still happy at the end of the day! Thank you so much to the Nursery Team.

Having moved our four-year-old daughter to St George’s from the nursery she had been in since a baby, I can sincerely say, my only regret is not moving her to St George’s earlier. Our daughter settled incredibly quick and absolutely loves being there. The time and effort by staff to ensure children feel safe and welcome from day one is really lovely. Staff are truly exceptional, they get to know each child as an individual. The nursery is in such a wonderful location with fabulous outside space which the children get to enjoy daily. They have fabulous facilities and many different classes for children to partake in throughout the week, ballet, woodwork in the forest, and sing and sign to be favourites of our daughter. There is a real family feel to this nursery which seems to carry on throughout the school as a whole. Properly cooked food for snacks and lunch. Our daughter is truly having the most wonderful time at St George’s learning, having fun, and making friends. Just great.

St George’s Nursery has been an excellent environment for my son who is an outgoing and lively little boy. He certainly loves going there too. It is evident that the staff are committed to engaging with the children to provide them with a variety of play experiences. He is suited to outdoor play and clearly embraces getting messy as he seldom returns in the same clothes that he left wearing. My son has a dairy intolerance which has been no issue at all.

We are so pleased that we have chosen St George’s Nursery for our daughter. It is such a kind, warm and friendly place. The staff take such great care of all the children and deliver such a range of exciting and stimulating activities. Our daughter runs in every day with the biggest smile on her face and is always engrossed in an activity when we arrive to pick her up. The nursery is run extremely well with good quality communication between staff and parents. They are extremely flexible and responsive to the needs of both child and family. I couldn’t rate them more highly. Thank you, St George’s!

A warm and loving setting for all children. Small class sizes mean so much attention to each child that is unrivalled in other private or state nurseries, rich in play and learning resources: so much to do every day! Lots of variety each day with lots of specialist lessons in addition to the nursery rooms and the playground: music, library, PE, ballet, the fantastical forest where children help build a campfire each week, toast marshmallows or make pizza, and play in the trees! It’s everything I want for my child. It’s a unique experience for her, and her life is enriched by the loving care of her nursery teachers. Plus, the school is unique in the area for subsidising the nursery fees since withdrawing from the council partnership, so the nursery fees match the price of a subsided place! Incredibly low fees for what my child gains!

Having been to a few nurseries before, our daughter absolutely loved St George’s from the very first day. So far, everything has been better than our expectations with friendly staff, excellent facilitates and great communication.

This is a wonderful nursery! It has superb facilities with lots of outdoor space; the nursery team are motivated, caring and well-qualified; management is very sound, with lots of structure to the children’s learning and good communication with parents. My child also has a nice cohort of classmates. She has ballet classes and rugby tops too, which is great. Very happy kid and super happy parents!

St George’s is by far the best experience we have had at a nursery to date. My daughter has been in a few due to covid and then us relocating. The staff here are extremely nurturing, loving, kind and very empathetic. They celebrate each child’s diversities and strengths. My daughter has grown immensely since beginning. Her confidence has grown and her leadership and manners are well beyond her age. I would highly recommend St. George’s to any parent and am proud to have my daughter be part of this school.
