Description
We are a family owned children’s day nursery, open 50 weeks per year, to all babies and children aged 0-5 years. We are open from 7.30am until 6pm Monday to Friday, except bank holidays and over the Winter Festive shut down period. We are an Ofsted registered provider and our last inspection in 2022 rated us ‘Outstanding’ for the second time running.
We offer a homely environment with small cohorts of babies and older children. We find children and nursery staff get to know one another quickly and easily! Our aim is to ensure each individual child enjoys playing, learning, and developing alongside children of similar age in our happy and safe nursery. The quality of the childcare we offer is therefore, a key priority, and everything we do is carefully planned by our experienced and caring team members. Our high-quality teaching is complemented by a very broad range of engaging play resources, and peripatetic teachers who visit regularly to deliver exercise via ‘Stretch-n-Grow’ and a love of music with Becca from Pop Up Percussion. For babies and nursery class we also have visits from Moo Music delivering fun and energetic sessions for the children! The older children also have weekly forest school sessions with Ryan and Spanish classes with Claire from Kidslingo.

April 24, 2019 at 12:00 amBoth my children have attended Richmond House and they’ve loved every minute of it! The staff are incredible and are truly invested in the children’s development. It feels like a big family and that’s the reason I chose Richmond. Both my girls have exceeded my expectations not only academically but socially too and that’s all down to the hard work of the staff. They know the children so well and I’ve always felt that my girls were in such safe hands.

April 25, 2019 at 12:00 amRichmond House Kindergarten is the most lovely environment for a child to spend time in. The staff are caring and the children benefit from massively varied activities – both indoors and outdoors in the amazing garden area.
There is a bond between not just the key worker for my son but all of the staff in the nursery and it has been lovely to watch the relationships develop and he loves his time there.
I couldn’t recommend the nursery more. The service is flexible and geared completely to the needs of family life.

April 25, 2019 at 12:00 amOur daughter has been attending Richmond House Kindergarten since January 2019 and absolutely loves it. The staff are all lovely and create a very caring environment for the children. Communication with parents is excellent – we particularly like the online learning log, where we receive regular updates about our child’s progress and achievements and the daily verbal report at pick up. The children enjoy a wide range of activities, including singing, stretch and grow and even learning some sign language, as well as lots of indoor and outdoor play. We are also really happy with the wide variety of meals offered by the nursery – the menu is interesting and changes regularly, and our daughter has enjoyed trying lots of new foods!
We would thoroughly recommend Richmond House Kindergarten to anyone considering it for their child.

The staff are caring and ensure your child’s wellbeing and education is their top priority. My children are now confident children who are motivated to learn and Richmond House continues to offer them the challenges they need on a daily basis.
Parents are always well informed by staff of their child’s learning progress and having staff that are warm and welcoming makes communicating even easier.
I could not recommend a better nursery and I feel very lucky to have been able to put both my kids through Richmond House.

They are dedicated and put a lot of effort into making sure the children progress and have fun at the same time. They involve the children in lots of different activities and my daughter has settled in very well for these reasons.

August 9, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Richmond House Kindergarten for 4 years and while he is looking forward to school he will greatly miss his friends and all the staff at the nursery too. He loves all the staff at the nursery and has bonded with all his key workers throughout. He has thrived there and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. The outdoor play area is fantastic and the variety of activities that he takes part in throughout the week ensures that he is always interested and stimulated whilst also allowing lots of time for free play too. The nursery has been extremely flexible and has always accommodated our needs where possible. A lovely nursery.

Our son started at age two in 2020 during all the Covid madness and the way that the staff welcomed us and settled him into the nursery was absolutely brilliant from the first phone call. They gave us a virtual tour beforehand and then once he started he was so happy from the first day. The communication is excellent and I love the app you can access to see photos and updates. Everyone is so friendly, the team clearly really care about the kids and our son adored going. Such a wonderful nursery and I would recommend them to anyone.

It is a small intimate nursery which was great for my children and had a very homely feel. The learning was fun and engaging and set them both up perfectly for starting school. They have made so many friends and love all of the ‘grown ups’ which makes the world of difference to us as parents. We have even had tears on the weekend when they can’t go to nursery! The range of activities and developmental attention given to each child is second to none, we couldn’t ask for more. My son has had difficulties with eczema and what ended up being allergies – the team at Richmond House were and continues to be so supportive and accommodating really helping him and us manage what he needs. Thank you to all at Richmond House – you are fantastic!
