As parents ourselves, we know just how important it is to find the right care for your child to feel happy, safe and secure.
When our first daughter was born, we had difficulty in finding the right nursery which provided the very best in care and education for her. They seemed to fall into two categories; those that were usually individually owned and, while frequently provided a caring approach, offered little in the way of high quality facilities with a strong focus on both children’s care and learning. Or, highly corporate institutions which were lacking in the intimacy and warmth that is essential for our children, especially in these very vulnerable first few years of their lives. We wanted to develop the very best in care and education for our youngest children and as a result our first nursery was born in 2006. Since then we have grown and expanded over the years, developing our nurseries to ensure each one provides the individual, caring approach we wanted from day one.
We bring a strong educational background to the nurseries and work very closely with the team and the children to ensure standards are always extremely high and the quality of care and education is the very best. Together we work hard to improve, update and continually develop our service to ensure your child gets the very best they deserve.

May 22, 2019 at 12:00 amIt’s a second home for our daughter, she feels welcomed every day, she enjoys the menu which is varied and playing with her friends; our daughter always manages to get a couple of hours sleep so we rarely pick up a cranky child. Our child is SEN, the nursery is liaising with the local hospital and agencies to help, they are working positively with us to provide the support she needs.

There isn’t a high staff turnover, so all the workers know every child really well. They build brilliant relationships with the children and their parents, I have never for a second doubted the high level of care my daughter was provided with. If you are looking for a smaller more personal setting, Hawthorn House is ideal.

The staff are wonderful and I know my children are safe and looked after, and they enjoy it so much.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

August 12, 2020 at 12:00 amMy daughter has attended this nursery for the past 2 years and absolutely loves it. All the staff are wonderful and engage with her and all other children brilliantly. They listen to all requests and fulfil them when you want something doing.
What made me choose this nursery above all the other in the local area is the nice homely feel that it has. It’s small and cosy compared to others which are very clinical. Everything is clean and even my daughter comments and does role play at home copying how the staff cleans this reassures me that standards are even kept up during the day.
The menu is excellent and works on a 4-week rota so I know my daughter is having a varied and nutritional diet.
There is a big outdoor play area which is excellent and my daughter enjoys it.
I love the tapestry updates that I get about my daughter throughout the day and also the weekly newsletter to keep me updated on what has happened and what’s upcoming. I highly recommend this nursery.

Since my son has attended here, his development is coming on leaps and bounds. His independence and confidence are improving due to the wonderful care he receives from them and the excellent learning resources and activities. I’m especially impressed with the cleanliness, the healthy food they serve and the online updates and newsletters we receive to keep up to date with everything that’s happening there. I would highly recommend this nursery.

December 7, 2020 at 12:00 amWe chose Hawthorn House based on the homely, family feel and the welcoming staff. Our elder child had attended an Ofsted-outstanding nursery which is part of a very large chain, but we were looking for a smaller setting with fewer children and more consistency in staffing. Now our younger child has been attending Hawthorn House four days a week for a number of months, I can say we have not been disappointed. Within a week, he was going in very happily and has every day since. We have been impressed with the variety and quality of activities offered, the very regular observations and information provided over the course of the week (as well as frequent informative communications such as the newsletter) and the individual planning for learning and progress. His keyworker has taken time to get to know him, and all of the team come across as warm and caring. The overwhelming sense is of a calm and well-planned environment where they really care about the children.

August 31, 2021 at 12:00 amHawthorn House is a fantastic nursery. Both of our children attended and enjoyed many happy years there. The manager and staff are brilliant and they really take the time to get to know the children in their care and provide a stimulating and caring environment.
There are always various activities for the children to get involved in and parents are kept well informed of events and how the children are doing. We would recommend Hawthorn House to other parents without hesitation.

September 16, 2021 at 12:00 amHawthorn House Day Nursery is by far one of the best. The ladies are so passionate about their job and do anything and everything for all children and parents. Becoming a parent during the Covid-19 pandemic was already hard enough, going from being at home with my daughter every day to working full-time and putting her in nursery was extremely hard for me and my partner. It took us a while to find the perfect nursery for her and somewhere where we would feel at ease until we found Hawthorn House. My daughter has developed so much in such a short space of time and I couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery. The staff are all amazing and I would, without doubt, recommend this nursery to friends and family. Keep doing what your doing ladies! Amazing.

We cannot thank the staff enough for making the transition to day nursery easy for our daughter. They have put our minds at ease and provided updates and feedback on how she does on a daily basis.
The team are fantastic and make the nursery a fun and engaging place for all the children. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Each day the children do a range of activities and are always learning new things to help their development.

Our mind is always at ease whilst she is there. It is such a personable and homely nursery. They do so many activities with the children, and always communicate everything about her day with us which we love hearing all about.

February 21, 2022 at 12:00 amCouldn’t have picked a better nursery for my little boy. He’d just turned 1 year’s old when he started and from day one I knew I’d made the right choice. The staff have been fantastic. He literally jumps into their arms when I drop him off. I can personally tell they genuinely have a love for the kids. Very informative, at the end of the day I get a little note with how his day’s gone and they also discuss this in person which is nice. They do lots of different activities with regular updates on the app they use. I love the food menu, very versatile and always changing. All in all 100% happy with Hawthorne House and wouldn’t think twice about recommending it.

May 12, 2022 at 12:00 amHawthorn House is a wonderful and homely place. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly and supportive. My son started there when he was 2 years old. With English being not our first language, I was worried about him settling into the nursery but the staff have been kind and understanding with him. After first few weeks, he really enjoyed going to the nursery. He has become more confident, social and active kid. He specially enjoyed all the activities at the nursery. Staff focus on the individual needs of each child in aspect to their overall development.
Also, the parent app and weekly newsletter kept us updated about these activities.
A big thanks goes to all the staff working in the nursery. Keep up your good work.
