Colville Nursery & Pre-School

My son has been at Colville for over a year, and has loved it since he started. The staff are brilliant and form great relationships with the children. They have great outside space and seem to think up great activities for the children, utilising what’s available in the local area as well as in the nursery itself. Overall very happy with them.

We selected Colville Nursery as we felt comfortable putting our daughter there at the age of 3.5-months. Everyone one took great care of her, with special attention to her needs as a little baby, and helping her grow up with many different activities, including her to adapt to activities with older babies. We know she feels good as we see all the activities she is doing, the smile on her face in every picture. Great cook as well, so we know she is growing up in a healthy environment overall. She is now 13-months old, and we are looking forward to seeing all the progress she is doing with the Colville team!

Our son has been attending Colville Nursery full time for about 10 months now. We are so pleased with his development since starting at the nursery and it is clear to see how much he enjoys being there. The teachers and management are all so wonderful, genuine, and it is very obvious that they care deeply for the children. They are as excited to help the children reach their developmental milestones as any parent would be (example: cheering for first steps, big hugs, etc). The teachers plan daily activities which are age-specific, fun, educational, and engaging for the children. The teachers are very attentive to the children and can easily share details about what our son was interested in or a fun moment from the day. Our son eats very well and is offered a wide variety and types of foods, thanks to the in house chef. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a warm, safe, and loving environment for your child.

Our daughter has joined the Colville Nursery family at the age of 9 months full time and I can honestly say that she loves going there!
The baby room staff is incredibly caring and loving, each day they engage the children in varied play activities.
Before Covid, that would be weekly trips to the library, the market, monthly forest school outings plus all the usual painting, singing, story and garden time and now since COVID they really made the most of their facilities – even organizing a “pool party” in the garden for the little ones. Our daughter has gained a lot of confidence in their caring hands.
Their chef is fantastic too and cooks healthy and varied food each day fresh.
The management is superb – they keep you informed through daily feedback at pickup, daily updates on their app, weekly newsletters and they organize special events such as Christmas Parties. You can tell they really care and create a wonderful family kind of atmosphere.

This is an outstanding nursery and pre-school. The staff is extremely nice and professional, children are well looked after and take part in many activities. There is a good atmosphere and we parents get together at weekends (Colville Crew). The playground is excellent and kids have a good amount of outdoor play. Before Covid, they would organise trips to Holland Park and would visit the elderly patients at the local Hospice. Opening times are very convenient for working parents too.

I do not understand the good reviews for this nursery both from Ofsted and other parents, sorry. Our experience there was terrible. The nursery was poorly organised and managed, and the staff turnover (including senior staff) was extremely high.
We experienced so many issues, such as severe nappy rash due to the use of a wrong nappy cream, not being given alternative food options for the ingredients our child was allergic to, multiple times of loss of clothing items and they never told us to bring in or stop bringing in spare clothes – we had 15 tops in the nursery at the end!
In the morning you would receive a message from the management that you must bring sunhats for your kids, and in the afternoon you would pick up your child who’s sitting in the scorching summer sun without any cover. The area for the buggies looks like a dump, with things broken and dirt. The team probably meant well but they’re just not capable enough to manage this place.

We had our daughter in Colville Nursery & Pre-School for nearly two years and we absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly, they kept our daughter happy, healthy and bright. She would run in in the morning hugging all the staff, the space was buzzing and there was never a dull moment. We only moved her because of a new nursery opening one street away that was too convenient to ignore. We highly recommend the manager and the rest of the Colville team to give your child a wonderful start in life.

It’s quite hard to put into words how exceptional this nursery is.
Warm, down-to-earth, smiley staff with good hearts and – most important of all – a great sense of humour.
My son is incredibly happy to arrive every day. Always has been. A testimony to the brilliant environment created by all there.

I love the nursery. It is small so I know all the teachers and the other parents. We have made friends through nursery and now many families hang out together. The nursery teachers are always smiling, they educate the children and my kids always feel loved.

Our son absolutely loves it there and so do we. Everything – the staff, the activities, the care – is exceptional and we consider ourselves lucky to have our son there. He started when he was ten months old and is now two and a half. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
