Cherry Trees Day Nursery (Cranfield)

The Childbase network is an added bonus in such emergencies. Arrangements had been made for little ones to enrol at a sister site if they wished. The nursery setting stayed open for those choosing to leave their little ones on-site, but shut early, before dark, to ensure safe movement inside the building. Assuming the nursery setting was in the same boat, I headed there to check on my girl, before going home to work. I work on campus and previous week we were plunged into darkness as a power cut hit the site. Meanwhile, the kids were having a great time playing in the semi-darkness (emergency lighting had kicked in throughout the building) – what an adventure! On arrival, the team were thinking outside the box, at speed – reconfiguring lunch plans, liaising with head office and updating parents by text message – the only means of correspondence due to the power cut. The next morning, the power was still out. A reflection on how the team at Cherry Trees Day Nursery responds to a crisis…In a word – amazingly!

My little one has been with this incredible childcare centre since she was 9 months old. I really couldn’t have managed without their support and just think they are incredible superhumans to risk their health and pushing their doubts to one side. My little one was enrolled at before and after the pandemic of Covid and lockdowns, I was a key worker. I cannot advocate all the crew enough, from office right through to key workers, on such a great and helpful network for my girl. You always have Mum guilt but the regular updates of pictures of them thriving made it soon disperse. The world struggled including myself with the whole situation, my little one didn’t understand what was going on but the early‑years hub continued and made it as normal an time for the kids as possible. My girl only ever came out of childcare centre with joy and the stories she would tell me about all her adventures with her friends, just so content and delighted. I am so dismayed to be leaving now she is almost 4 and starting school.

His interests are taken into account by the personnel and he always has many exciting things to tell us. I am so grateful for what the team have done for my family, we will miss them when he leaves. The range of activities they provide engages my young lad and has led him to be an extremely curious and perseverant learner. Our little ones have both thoroughly enjoyed and have made excellent advancement at Cherry Trees Day Nursery in Cranfield. The personnel are really nurturing and understand my youngster, always ready to challenge him and excite him.

Overall a exceptionally pleasant time. The personnel are welcoming and approachable. I feel that our boys have been encouraged to do a range of fun, educational activities and have always felt the site was immaculate and well organised. Child support is more expensive than initially expected however other sites seem similar prices so wouldn’t change. Both our sons have been extremely pleased. I have always felt able to discuss any concerns with the managers and they have responded quickly and with understanding.

We’ve seen him make great strides forward verbally and socially with the assistance provided by the Nursery. The team and his key worker in the Bumblebees room have been nothing but incredible with the level of care and attention provided to what is a exceptionally energetic little one. My young lad has been attending the early‑years hub for over a year now in both the Ladybird and most recently the Bumblebees room. The team pay particular attention to the individual needs and interests of the kids and they have been incredible with my extremely high spirited young lad. My young lad took a few months to warm up to going to nursery setting, not helped by reduced socialisation through lockdown, but his key workers have been so caring and attentive. The early‑years hub is modern, well equipped, with a fabulous garden and the activities they put on for the kids are varied and well thought through. The early‑years hub has also been exceptionally flexible as I’ve required changes to my son’s pattern and extra days here and there, they’ve always been able to accommodate. My little one has was enrolled at for nearly a year and I’ve been so amazed by the compassion and professionalism of all the team. There are a number of rooms, more than other nurseries around, which means the groups are really age-appropriate. He shows such strong emotion towards his key worker and all the personnel – it’s so lovely to see such a bond and know he’s going to be pleased while I’m at work.

I am so pleased that I chose this childcare centre, the contact from crew is fantastic and I would not hesitate in recommending to any parent. Cherry Trees really do listen to the needs of your little one and genuinely show so much support, attention and empathy towards them. I cannot fault the team and I have never felt unhappy to leave my little boy at early‑years hub as I know he adores it and has a fantastic time every single day! My little boy started Cherry Trees Day Nursery in April 2022 at 13 months old. After a difficult start, due to illness, he settled in extremely well and created strong bonds with not just his key worker but all members of team.

I really enjoy the newsletters and the app is a great way to see what’s happening. The personnel are exceptionally encouraging and always delighted to answer any questions. I would enthusiastically endorse this early‑years hub, the personnel are remarkable. My young lad has been coming since he was 8-months-old and he really adores it.

Cherry Trees is cordial and spotless and we have never doubted that our boy would be taken support of. It’s been an absolute pleasure to use Cherry Trees and we could not advocate it enough. Throughout the pandemic their contact was brilliant and when they reopened there was not a doubt that it was a safe place to be. Our sons time has come to an end at Cherry Trees and we could not thank the personnel enough for the caring, fun setting that they have provided for him.

We will all miss Cherry Trees dearly and truly grateful for the time our young lad has spent there. The prior sixteen months have been a particular challenge but again managed so well by all the team in their flexible and innovative approach to ensuring our little ones stay secure and well. As our son’s time at Cherry Trees Day Nursery is coming to an end, thought it would only be right to leave a review. Cherry Trees have provided him with fun and interesting activities that have helped him develop and given him a good grounding to starting school. He has been there for four years starting when he was only 8 months old and we really cannot fault anything. Throughout his time there he has been so delighted, the personnel have given him such great support and he leaves there a assured and bright little boy. His introduction to ICT along with the STEM activities has been fantastic.
