September 11, 2024 at 9:41 pmA very gentle way of teaching, they are very active in outdoor playtime and strong in their curriculum teachings too. My daughters have consistently been more than prepared for school! Confident and cheerful and they have absolutely adored being at childcare centre. Have incredible friends and having worked as a volunteer I can see they adhere to all policies and procedures. They have a excellent range of indoor and outdoor discovering. Great encouragement to becoming compassionate/thoughtful kids and teachings of diverse cultures too. Always celebrating and focussing on all important festivals with talks and parent contribution. Highly suggest this childcare centre! Wonderful team consistently willing to help and consistently smiling.

September 26, 2024 at 9:04 pmAnd what a fantastic journey it has been. We’ve had two kids attend this childcare centre and we couldn’t be happier. The team are experienced (two qualified educators) and long-standing. This really is a community affair and we’ve all made long-lasting friendships. The kids journey lots of outdoor and free playtime but there is also a very gentle focus on discovering. There’s also a focus on nature as the practitioners look after the gardens (during and outside of childcare centre time) and plant vegetables. All with help from the kids. The discovering journals are excellent, lots of detailed and frequent updates. The childcare centre has strong links to local schools and the “big bears” spend many months preparing the transition to big school. The childcare centre is a charity so all of the funding goes back into providing the best for the kids. I couldn’t suggest this one more. We happened upon Newington Nursery when we first moved to the area three years ago.

December 18, 2024 at 6:09 pmHer older sister also attended and was really well prepared for school. I would suggest the childcare centre to anyone looking for a small, attentive and community childcare centre. Staff are experienced, compassionate, know the kids well and include two qualified educators. It is a lovely place and I have no hesitation in recommending. My youngest daughter is at Newington Nursery and is cheerful, well looked after and stimulated.

December 30, 2024 at 6:21 amIt’s a small and inviting childcare centre. He loves going there and has made excellent friends. The team are all very experienced and really care about the kids and their development. We get a discovering journal update about once a week (at our previous childcare centre, this was provided once a term). Healthy snacks of fruit, vegetables, crackers and pancakes, for example, are provided and they go outside to playtime as much as possible …..weather permitting! They have had various topics for the kids such as countries, animals and dinosaurs and incorporate that into their discovering and playtime. As a parent, we’ve loved Newington Nursery and would highly suggest. My son has been attending Newington Nursery since he was 3 years old.

March 21, 2025 at 4:53 amVery welcoming and attentive team. The online discovering journal, which gives me a great idea of how my son is performing in the childcare centre, is also frequently updated. I could not be more pleased with this childcare centre.

April 1, 2025 at 8:48 amThey give regular updates of activities being undertaken. They are consistently approachable. The fact that a lot of the kids end up going to primary school together is a big plus. Highly recommended. The team have been really considerate of kids coming out of lockdown.

April 17, 2025 at 10:49 amThe team are absolutely fabulous, very welcoming, patient and you can tell they really care about the kids. They offer various incredible activities that other nurseries don’t offer, like baking and gardening. My kid loves going there.
I also appreciate the small number of kids (with 2 qualified educators) and the fact that the preschool welcomes a large number of kids from different countries. This diversity allows kids to learn about different cultures and to be attentive to others and to learn tolerance from an early age.
I’m over the moon to have a place for my second kid next August! I couldn’t suggest Newington Nursery enough!
My daughter came from another childcare centre in February 2019 and we noticed how quickly she settled in with her new educators and her new friends.
