November 24, 2024 at 7:24 amIt has exceptional outdoor facilities. Children can playtime outside all day. They incorporate many forest school activities such as regular campfires and a more wild grass area.
There is a kid led approach to playtime and I have been amazed by how much my daughter has grown in self‑assurance and ability during her time there.
They offer reasonably priced wrap around care and are very flexible about one off sessions. If kids stay for lunch, there is excellent home cooked food (mostly locally sourced). They have done a excellent job at improving my daughter’s table manners and encouraging her to try new foods. My daughter (aged 4) loves this childcare centre and I can’t rate it highly enough.
The team are very experienced and there are a high number of qualified educators.

January 23, 2025 at 3:04 amThe babies get a lot of indoor and outdoor space to roam, and pushchairs to nap in, which most nurseries in Cambridge do not have on offer as an option. I have heard that other nurseries are quick to call parents to collect when their kid cries when settling in, but the team at the Fields will keep trying and will call only if actually required. My baby only speaks a handful of words, one of them being ‘please’ which he learned at childcare centre. They work with parent preferences for weaning styles – my baby was baby-led only and they fully supported that. The quality of care and dedicated team at this childcare centre make it outstanding. This childcare centre has a community sense and experienced, long-term team.

April 20, 2025 at 4:51 amMy son is in the Bluebell room for two-year-olds and he is really cheerful there.
The team are incredible and if I ever have a worry, they consistently put my mind at ease. My son adores his key worker and she’s consistently there to assistance his development, as well as assistance his routine and making sure he has naps etc as he would do at home.
The kids have a variety of activities to keep them busy which varies each day. The outdoor area is exceptional and my son spends most of his time there exploring and playing.
The kitchen is run by a welcoming team, who make sure the kids are given healthy and nutritional food.
The childcare centre truly is a home from home for us, as my daughter was there before she went to school. The care and assistance of the team is exceptional and is reflected in my cheerful little boy who enjoys his time there. It really is a special place, with a real sense of community where I know my kids are secure and cheerful. The Fields Children’s Centre childcare centre is an incredible place.
