Acorn Day Nursery (Burton Latimer)

Our son started Acorn Day Nursery in April 2022. Everyone has been brilliant in helping him to settle in and so accommodating to his needs. We are really pleased with his progress. When we pick him up, he’s always smiling and seems to be really happy to be at nursery.

I have to say that this nursery is so great! They have always been so helpful, supportive and so friendly throughout both our boys going here! We viewed a good 5 nurseries around the local area and our initial gut feeling when walking round was to go with this one! The homely feel and the warmth from all the staff and management are second to none! The communication is extremely good which just makes everything run so smoothly! The only downside is the car park that it’s shared with the football ground however this is only really an issue a couple of times of the year and for the amazing people, environment and facilities the nursery provides I’d happily share a car park! Honestly, I can’t recommend this nursery enough! Thank you to all the staff and management here for looking after and caring for our boys like they were/are your own we will never ever forget this.

I have been nothing short of absolutely delighted with Acorns. I knew instantly from the moment I walked in with my son at 9 months old that I would feel comfortable leaving him in their care. He started at 17 months old and despite going just once a week has always been happy and excited to spend his days with the team and his friends. He has just had his settling-in session to move to the big room with no problems, a testament to how they are helping to create happy, confident little people who are comfortable in all areas of the nursery. We are currently pregnant with number 2 and I feel confident knowing they will look after this little one just as well as they have with my first. Wonderful nursery with a wonderful ethos.

The staff at Burton Latimer are amazing and so caring towards the children. They give you great updates throughout the day and always have different activities set up for your child to take part in. They take great care in ensuring the environment is as safe as possible and really work hard to engage with the parents.

My child loves his time in nursery, gets really happy about going in the morning. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. We love how they take the time to play and make all the sensory games and listen to us as parents when we have any concerns.

Acorn is a nursery that is so considerate of the needs of each child. From settling in to drop-offs and pick-ups it has a warm caring environment. My son needs consistency from his carers and they have really helped do this. They ensure lots of different activities are set up to encourage development and pick things that the children are in to. The staff are all compassionate, empathetic, child-focused, lovely people. It’s a home-from-home with lots of outdoor play too and lots of room for the children. Great nursery.

The childcare here is incredible with knowledgeable, highly-trained, supportive and engaging professionals. I wouldn’t want my children to go anywhere else! The facilities are incredible and the focus on being outside and having fun always appealed to us.

I cannot fault this nursery, since my grandson started last October in the Squirrels he has come so far with his learning ability. His key workers are amazing with him in all aspects and they are all so dedicated to their job.

Our daughter has been attending Acorns for nearly a year and we are so pleased with the provision! Every morning, she is greeted warmly by a member of staff and we are kept up-to-date on how her day is going through the app. If we’ve ever dropped her off and she hasn’t been herself, the team are always quick to send a quick message to let us know she’s settled in okay (which she always does) and put our mind at rest! The food they provide offers a varied menu on a four-week cycle, and we’re yet to have seen anything our daughter won’t eat! Making the decision to send your baby to nursery is really hard, but we know we made a good choice sending her to Acorns! Every day she comes out smiling and is excited to go in the morning. It’s the perfect place to send your child and know they’ll be treated exactly as you’d want them to be.

I was apprehensive about my one-year-old starting nursery, she has always been very clingy and hadn’t really been left with anyone. Within a week of starting at Acorn Nursery she went from taking a few steps (but preferring to walk on her knees) to walking full-time. Her speech has really developed, the staff are great. When we arrive or leave, all staff we pass greet my daughter by name. They keep you up to date on the app throughout the day with information and photos which gives me a lot of comfort that I can check what she’s eaten, what time she’s had a nap and see photos of her having a great time. It has a large garden area equipped with lots of toys and a sandpit. My daughter is thriving here, I cannot think of a bad word to say. My older child also went here and some of the same staff are still there which shows it’s a nice place to work. Although it’s a large nursery there’s a homely feel.
