The Old Station Nursery Filkins

My child attends Filkins Nursery in the preschool room. She is very happy there and although she may be one of the eldest, she is content and kept busy doing the things she loves most. The nursery is child-led and will make extra effort to meet my child’s individual needs.

I would highly recommend Filkins Nursery. Our daughter started in September and has not looked back since. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly which creates a lovely atmosphere for the children to be in. Every day there seems to be different fun, creative and educational activities – French, yoga, cooking, forest school. She comes back every day excited to tell me what they have been up to. It is easy to get daily feedback on how she is doing or if anything needs to be flagged up. Although she has a key carer, because it is a small setting, all the staff are approachable and helpful. I am watching my daughter grow more confident, learning new skills, making friends and enjoying herself and it is a joy! Thank you Filkins!

Fabulous nursery with such compassionate, reactive and knowledgable staff. Our little one has come on leaps and bounds since attending Filkins, especially in their confidence and language skills. Collecting my little one is a joy as they are always so happy and eager to tell me all about their day. We are also regularly updated with what they have been doing throughout the day, which we love, and it means we can continue with activities or learning ideas at home too.

I have been blown away by the Filkins nursery. On day 4, my son was closing the nursery door in my face waving to me through the window whilst being held in his key worker’s arms. The team have made him feel so secure and they have worked out how he ticks. The updates are great, so much effort is put into their days at the nursery. Thank you all so much!

We wanted to change the days our granddaughter was at nursery. So asked the manager for information. It didn’t take long for her to get back in touch with a solution that was a benefit to all, especially our granddaughter. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at the nursery. The love and care they show our granddaughter is beyond anything we imagined. It is going to be a wrench for her to leave this year, but I will say without a doubt, that they have done plenty to shape the young lady she is growing into. Thank you, Filkins.

The nursery is fantastic! My daughter loves going, the updates we received are well constructed and give us a snapshot of her day. She loves her key worker and talks about her all the time at home, which to me shows the bond that she has created with her. The range of activities they do ranges from numeracy and literacy to Forest school. I can only recommend the nursery highly as I think it is a great setting for a child to start their education.

We are over the moon with the care we have been given at Filkins Old Station Nursery. My son goes in happy to see his key carer every day and comes out with so many stories of all the activities he’s done though out the day. They are always very quick to respond if I have any questions and are very accommodating to our needs.

Our child loves the Old Station Nursery, which is the main thing, he sometimes enquires at weekends if he can go to nursery today.
The nursery itself is a wonderful little place with good outdoor and indoor spaces for him to play and learn and small enough for him to know all of his little classmates.
The staff are wonderful and keep the children entertained all day, and also teach the children a great deal, most days we get told about what our little boy has learned that day, and what he did.
It will be a sad day for him and us when he has to leave and move on to big school.

My boys are very happy about this nursery. The staff in the 2-3y room are super, all are wonderful, loving, caring and professional women. The atmosphere is welcoming, stimulating to learn and make friends. My children are excited and involved in the activities that are organized every day. The management, which I found not decisive on essential points, and the App need improvements. The kids spend a long time indoors when it’s hot also due to a lack of shelter from the sun. I asked why there were no parasols outside for children and staff on the hottest days, I was told something new would be bought. Two weeks later, I requested an update, having not seen any new parasols/gazebos, and I was mistaken for someone who dictated what to do. I felt misunderstood and misjudged. Anyway, no solution has been found so far. The information about children’s nutrition is insufficient and confusing. The snack menu and food should be present daily on the app. Moreover, the app is too little updated and not very exhaustive.

My daughter is so loved and looked after at The Old Station Nursery and they are wonderful at exploring learning with her in areas that she shows interest in.
The staff are always thinking of new and interesting activities to keep learning fresh and exciting.
