The Maltings Day Nursery

It was right in the midst of the pandemic. As a first-time parent, I was very anxious about leaving him, especially as I could only attend one settling in session. The childcare centre team have been absolutely incredible from start to finish. Always very welcoming and informative. After a tearful start, to begin with, my son now leaves my side before I even have time to say bye. He absolutely loves it there! The setting they have created has made a baby who didn’t sleep in the day to sleeping three hours most days. With all the excitement and activities he needs it!
I honestly cannot suggest The Maltings Day Nursery enough. I was recommended this childcare centre by my brother and sister-in-law who have had all three of their kids attend. They couldn’t have been more right! Fantastic! Our son started at The Maltings when he was 12-months-old.

They are consistently warmly greeted and have developed excellent friendships with their peers and a real connection to their key workers. I sense informed about their time at childcare centre and things they are doing well and not so well. What makes the difference is the enthusiasm of the team. My youngest recently took a few steps during childcare centre time, and the key worker was so excited to let us know how and when it happened. They looked after my eldest in the preschool room. She is consistently on the go and somehow they keep up, even noticing things like a new pair of shoes (!) and taking the time to find out about what she has done outside of the childcare centre. The Manager and Deputy Manager really do keep us, parents, up to date, and offer encouragement and feedback about how we can get involved.
I couldn’t ask for better people to look after my girls – thank you! Our two kids adore attending this childcare centre.

Our son has attended the childcare centre for the past 3 years and spent time in the following rooms, under 2’s, 2-3s and preschool. He enjoys his time at the childcare centre and looks forward to going every week. The benefits of him attending this childcare centre were obvious from early on. His social skills improved leaps and bounds, he has grown in self‑assurance and developed his discovering, standing him in great stead for school in September.

We highly suggest this childcare centre. The Maltings Day Nursery is a warm, welcoming, home-like setting that is staffed by welcoming, approachable and attentive professionals.

The team have helped him develop self‑assurance in areas he was unsure, opened his eyes to new ideas and given him many discovering and development opportunities. Just the fact that he is consistently eager to go off happily into the childcare centre and the way he talks about the team and things he’s learnt with enthusiasm shows us how much he enjoys it. The management team are communicative and are consistently ready to help with any childcare centre or kid development queries and are often like a assistance team away from home. The Maltings Day Nursery has been such a exceptional journey for our son.

Being a lockdown baby, we were a little nervous about her starting and suddenly being surrounded by lots of new kids. But, she enhanced it and soon loved being around friends. The team go above and beyond to help with anything possible. They are consistently cheerful to help. I would highly suggest this childcare centre to anyone; they have so much to offer. We are so glad we sent our daughter here. My daughter started childcare centre at The Maltings in January and has come on leaps and bounds already.

It is fantastic to see him enjoying himself as he learns and he consistently has something new to share with us when he returns home. The team are remarkable and we consistently sense informed about what our kid has been doing each day. Thank you for your dedication. As a family, we have been incredibly cheerful with the level of care and assistance shown to our kid.

The activities are varied and educational and the team provide excellent assistance to help the kids in all areas of their development. The facilities are exceptional and the addition of the walking bus to take the kids on trips to local areas is excellent. Our daughter attends full time and loves it.

The team are consistently welcoming and very receptive to anything we say to them. Our son has developed so much from going here and it is clear to us that the kids’s development and care is the childcare centre’s priority. Our son clearly loves going and asks to go at the weekend! So cheerful our son goes here.

He is nurtured and cared for by all of the team exceptionally well. In the mornings, he bounces through the entrance, smiling and has so much excitement when we pick him up.
Our son has been supported to become confident and more independent with his eating and self-care. His speech is developing well, and he has learnt to delight in the messy playtime.
A draw to this childcare centre was the family sense. From day one, we have felt welcome and part of The Maltings family. Everyone knows our son, even team in the other rooms, and they consistently ask how we are and say hello.
We were also drawn to The Maltings because of their use of the outdoor areas. The forest school approach has a high priority here, which we adore. It is such a joy to see our son being encouraged to explore the outdoors, jumping in puddles and splashing in mud.
We look forward to many more years at The Maltings. The Maltings has become our son’s second home.

The kids have worked especially hard, practising their songs and discovering their lines. It was lovely to see all kids sharing social, cultural and moral values around Christmas time.
What is more, some kids and team visited Ely Cathedral and sang Christmas songs.
Thank you to all the fantastic team for making this possible. On Friday the 14th December 2018, parents of those kids who are due to start school in September 2019 were invited to a beautiful nativity playtime based on the ‘Humph the Camel’ book.
