A small and very caring nursery. A home away from home. My son has blossomed during his time at Tug Boats. The staff are professional, compassionate and make you feel so welcome. All staff members go out of their way to chat with him, making him feel very secure and loved. The children’s thoughts and ideas are valued giving them a sense of ownership over their learning. During pick up, my son relishes in showing me the work they did that day and talks non stop on our journey home about the various activities and tasks undertaken. Tug Boats will always have a very special place in my heart.

Tugboat is an exceptional family run nursery. The staff are super attentive, extremely helpful, knowledgable, organised, kind, affectionate and compassionate. The atmosphere at Tugboat is warm, fun, happy and friendly and feels like an extension of our own family. Our child adores Tugboat and has grown in confidence since attending. On occasion our child has refused to come home due to having such a good time! The staff at Tugboat are extremely good at dealing with children with allergies and adapt their food menus for those who have issues. They are also very good at supporting children who have health issues. The children that attend Tugboat are kind, caring and thoughtful, qualities/behaviours that are very much encouraged by the Tugboat staff. Instead of sending our child to one of the many good local nurseries, we travel up to 1.5 hours a day (London traffic!) to enable our child to attend Tugboat. The BEST nursery in Fulham/Putney by far.

When we moved to Fulham two years ago, I was looking for a nursery where my son, who did not speak any English at that time, would be able to have his very first positive nursery experiences and his very first contact with a completely new language. When we found Tug Boat, we immediately had the feeling that our son was in great hands, and we could leave him there, even though he couldn’t speak or understand English then. It turned out to be the perfect decision. My son is very happy there, his English has developed very well, he loves his teachers, and whenever I go there to pick him up in the evening, he would love to stay longer because they are in the middle of a story, a game or just dancing. This nursery offers excellent surroundings for our little ones, they learn a lot, they do loads of different activities that make the children use all their senses, and there is a great, happy atmosphere when you arrive there in the morning and one of the wonderful teachers opens the big red door.

I cannot rate the staff at Little Tug Boat Nursery more. They are not only 100% professional but kind, fun and make every child feel loved and cared for.
I know the minute I say goodbye to my children at Tug Boat they are in safe hands for the rest of the day until I pick them up after work.
We are very grateful to everyone at Tug Boat and thank you for all the hard work that you put into the running of such a happy daycare environment.

Tug Boats is a family. We felt it from the first enquiry to where we are now six happy months in. The crew seem to like each other and love the children. It took a week or so of tears not just mine to settle. The crew could not have been more supportive.
Our girl now runs in and you can see her little face cease slightly as she decides whether to give hugs or sit down with her friends for a hearty breakfast. The nursery seems more laid back and gentle than some which suits us. That said she is stimulated and developing fast. Yoga is a lovely addition.

The Little Tug Boat is fantastic. We used another nursery locally for our first child but it was disorganised and food cooked offsite.
The chef at Tug Boat has an amazing kitchen, the food is a really important for me, menus are super and published every Friday for the following week. Newsletters are regular and invoicing correct.
It is extremely well run and every single staff member from room staff to the manager and owners are very friendly, professional and approachable.
The garden is a little small and there are no balance bikes but it more than makes up for this with lesson planning, little iPad use and the structure of children’s days. Security is also excellent, only one main front door which is well controlled by all.
Birthday cakes are made for each child and sugar is controlled, no snacks can be bought into the premises which is great.
I cannot recommend a look around enough.
We have been there one year so this review relates to 2016 in its entirety.

Since starting The Little Tug Boat Day Nursery, my daughter has grown in confidence, socially as well as academically. She has quickly adopted the Tug Boat principles, which include having good manners, treating people with respect, having the confidence to try new things and making good choices. She loves going to nursery and there is such a variety of creative activities she gets to do indoors and outdoors, including cooking, outings to the park, yoga, library time, etc. The food is freshly cooked and healthy and now my daughter eats her vegetables at home – so I am happy too. I love the daily updates I get from the teachers when I pick her from nursery – I am always aware of what she is learning. We love the homely environment in the nursery, which brings about a closeness between parents, children and staff alike. The owners and staff at The Little Tug Boat Day Nursery are kind, helpful and fun and my daughter adores them. I can’t speak highly enough of The Little Tug Boat Day Nursery – we couldn’t be happier.

The Little Tug Boat is a really exceptional nursery – above everything, there is always a loving, fun atmosphere. It is a small nursery and the children know all the staff well and that gives a feeling of family. Children are encouraged to take care of each other and it is so nice to see how many cuddles they share. There is a close interaction between management, staff and parents and any topic addressed is immediately taken care of (e.g. parents were interested in a First Aid class which was then organised).
Learning is fun and the range of activities offered is impressive whilst granting enough opportunities for “free play”. Each child has an individual learning plan and the progress is very transparent.
The quality and variety of the food prepared by the chef from scratch is amazing; the birthday cakes are as well, always a highlight.
The outside part is not too big but there are a lot of activities (performed) thus it is ensured that the children can get rid of a lot of energy!

My daughter spent a week at the nursery – staff was very professional and very warm with the kids. The nursery is light and clean, with big rooms. It feels like a family. We were very grateful for the last minute support they provided us.

I love Little Tug Boat. It is such a wonderful place for my daughter to learn, grow and be cared for. I was worried about going back to work but the team helped make it so easy because I didn’t need to worry about how my daughter was doing, I knew she would be loving her day! She gets to participate in a very wide variety of activities and always comes home having done something new. I could highly recommend Little Tug Boat to anyone looking for a nursery for their little one.

Our daughter absolutely loves it here. The beauty of this nursery is that it’s flexible and works around your family. Because it’s smaller than some other nurseries, it feels more personal, like one big happy family. I never worry about my daughter and am always amazed by what she learns and how happy she is there. She is flourishing under their care. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Tug Boat has been really great for my kids, and so helpful to us as working parents. Its been great to see my son and daughter so happy to spend the day with little friends, learning wonderful new things, and coming home happy and brimming with ideas to share. Its great to feel welcome to their daily breakfasts and catch up at the end of the day to know what the kids have been up to. The staff are all so warm and kind and friendly. Tug Boat has been a wonderful place for the early years.

In the seven months he has been at The Little Tug Boat, we have seen our son grow and flourish. The staff is warm, attentive and focused on each child’s unique development. Management is approachable, thoughtful and professional. We are constantly impressed by the variety of purposeful activities that the children engage in, by the level of attention and care given to feeding and nutrition and most of all by the balance of a nurturing and stimulating environment that the Little Tug Boat team manages to create. We have recommended the nursery to a number of friends and will continue to do so.

My son has been at Little Tug Boat since he was 8 months old – he is now nearly 4! It’s a lovely, warm nursery and really feels like the environment I would have created for him these past few years if I were to design something from scratch. The staff are incredibly responsive – they have a wonderful way of interacting with him (and all the children) that really respects and responds to who they are as individuals. That his teachers connect so well with him is highlighted by how happy he is when he realises it’s a ‘Tug Boat day’! Communication with the parents is fantastic and reflects how much they care about the children. In fact, I think his teachers are even more proud of every achievement and milestone than I am! (Well, maybe equally proud.)

The best nursery! I am extremely happy with it. Staff is very kind, gentle and caring with children. This is a safe, warm and friendly environment. Activities are great fun for them.
My older children stayed there from 2 to big school, he loved it and he was absolutely ready for big school! And my 2 years old is having the best time there as well. I would never have put him in another place!

Silver lining of Covid – we were lucky to get a spot for my daughter in this lovely nursery for the final year before school. Very pleased and would highly recommend to anyone for the below reasons:
    – Privately-owned with family feeling
    – Caring, positive and lovely teachers and management
    – Learning presented in an interesting and appealing manner for the kids, amazed how much she learned and repeated back to us
    – Organic delicious food with varying menu, kids get to try different cuisines. My daughter would rave about the food every day
    – Structured day, kids know what to expect from the day; garden time daily.
    – Preparing confident learners ready for the ‘big’ school.

It’s hard to name any negatives, but if I had to, I would mention that nursery outdoor facilities are quite small. Kids didn’t seem to mind though. I hope now that Covid restrictions are getting lifted, the nursery can take advantage of the nearby park and resume weekly outdoor adventures.

My family and I will miss The Little Tug Boat dearly! Our youngest looked forward to going to the nursery every day. It was wonderful for us, as parents, to see how content she was. And she flourished! Our eldest, too, could tell how very much she learnt, including Spanish. She was keen to teach us a few new words, often.
Meals were superb and nourishing; peace of mind for mum and dad!
Equally important, health and safety were not taken lightly.
Above all, The Little Tug Boat is a home away from home, and lovingly so.
