Sycamore House Day Nursery

Both our children have been at Sycamore since they were 9 months, and both have grown in confidence throughout, and they look forward to going to nursery. The staff are welcoming, and any obstacles our child has faced, the nursery offers their full support and our child’s well-being is the top priority. Both our children are happy and looked after, and we can’t recommend this nursery enough!

Two of our children currently attend Sycamore House, and our eldest child left recently to go to school, having attended since she was just over 6 months old. We have had an extremely positive experience and would highly recommend it.
It is a very well-managed nursery, and all the staff that we have come across are excellent. We like the ethos of the nursery, and the activities that the children are able to experience are both creative and educational. The food offering is also impressive.
We receive regular photographs and videos so can see how much our children are enjoying themselves and learning. There is regular feedback to parents, and the staff are keen to hear about new interests and skills that the children are developing at home so as to continue to nurture these when at nursery.
It always feels like a very happy place with staff who really care about the children as individuals and who ensure that they are treated as such.
We are extremely happy with our choice of nursery.

My 13-month-old started in September 2022 attending, one day a week, as the nursery we wanted to put her in didn’t have availability. Fast forward to November, and I am so glad we came across Sycamore. The staff are so lovely, always friendly and so attentive. One member of staff isn’t my daughter’s key worker, but she adores him, and he’s fab with her. My little one is always happy at drop off, which gives lots of peace of mind as well. We have now signed her up for another day and will be cancelling the nursery I originally wanted her to go to!

The staff are simply wonderful. They know our twins so well, they look after them beautifully, and they take excellent care of them at all times. We have been so impressed with the nursery in every aspect and would highly recommend it. I have every confidence in sending my children there.

Our son has been attending the Sycamore House Day Nursery for almost a year now. Through this time, we have been impressed by how carrying, professional and welcoming all the staff have been. Staff always work extremely hard to ensure children have stimulating, joyful as well as safe times at their nursery.
The staff ensure children are at the heart of the nursery, creates personalised plans to support children’s development, seeks advice and guidance from parents on what special interest children have, and makes sure activities are tailored around it. As parents, we receive daily updates on our little one’s time at nursery, as well as developmental review updates with a guide on how else we can support our little one’s progress.
We have seen great progress in our son’s development since he started attending the nursery, and we would strongly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, developing and happy place for their little one.

The staff are so caring towards our daughter, and she loves going to Sycamore House. She settled really quickly in the baby room with lots of lovely support from her key worker. We’re really happy with the education she is receiving and couldn’t recommend the nursery more.

Our son has been attending Sycamore House nursery for the past 18 months, and so far, the experience has been very positive. The staff have consistently ensured our son’s needs have been attended to, and they’ve done a great job working on all the different aspects of his development. The nursery itself is a decent size with a good garden at the back and conveniently located close to the town centre. Parking is adequate but can get a bit cramped during rush hour. Our son has been in the preschool area for over a year now, and he loves it! The preschool area has plenty of rooms and different activities to keep him engaged and busy. All the staff members are very friendly, and it’s evident they take pride in the great work they do – I can tell they genuinely care about the kids, which is great! We’re definitely going to send our youngest in when he’s old enough. Highly recommended – keep up the good work, guys.

Enrolling our son in Sycamore House is one of the best things we have ever done. He has gone from being a shy, nervous little boy to a confident, bubbly toddler, and I credit much of that change to the amazing staff at Sycamore House. I get the feeling that the staff here really care about him, and I think he can feel that too. It’s a warm, friendly place full of wonderful practitioners who truly care for the children.

Both my children attend the nursery. My older daughter started at nine months old and she’ll be off to school in September after four years in the care of Sycamore House! We chose Sycamore because of the curiosity approach, the home-from-home, comforting feel of the house, the activities and, most of all, we could see how much the staff cared for the children. Their child-led creative approach has allowed both our children to blossom into confident, happy, secure and well-loved little girls. Their key-people are so unbelievably caring and invested in their happiness, well-being and learning. But, they have wonderful relationships with all of the staff. We’ve felt very lucky to end up with such fantastic childcare that makes the drop offs that bit easier! The car park is a bit tricky at busy times, but all of the parents are understanding of each other. We love the nursery and would recommend to anyone looking for a good nursery in Bishop’s Stortford.

Our daughter has attended Sycamore since she was 10 months old. She quickly settled and made strong bonds with the team – as she was my first I felt like I was leaving my most precious possession in the hands of a stranger but they were so supportive. I straight away noticed the positive experience the nursery had on her, supporting her development and helping her become independent. Our son has now started and we’re seeing the same positive development, he’s so confident and sociable, they both love it. The staff are wonderful and attentive, they love the children and are constantly setting up fun activities. The garden is a really big space with lots to do and uncover – the children really get to explore and I love that they use more real-life and natural open-ended objects for play! It’s with a heavy heart that my daughter leaves for school – I know she is more than ready but she’s had such a positive experience at Sycamore and made some lovely friends, we will miss the team too.
