Sunrise Day Nursery

The managerial staff interacted with all the children at the nursery. My child gelled with the staff there and they very soon became like an extended family. The staff themselves are parents and understand all your worries. They have a very good skill mix between them, they are very approachable. The managers have an open door policy. All the children always seem happy in the company of their carers when we go there. They interacted with the children with age appropriate, fun activities and celebrate all seasonal and religious events.
My child has learnt so much and has become a confident girl. She is always happy, clean and content at nursery. The communication from the nursery is second to none. They always keep you informed of your child’s wellbeing and they encourage you to call as many times as you like and this is very reassuring. The security at the nursery is excellent and it never worries me. As a worrying 1st time mum, there is nowhere that can compare to the service they provide.

We really love Sunrise. The staff are kind, caring and fun. Any issues are dealt with quickly and sensitively. They teach children to be polite but also independent and inquisitive. Communication with parents is excellent. My two sons both have gone there since they were 12 months and they are now 18months and 3.5yrs old. The baby room staff are very loving and have dealt with my son’s dairy allergy very well too. Both boys really enjoy eating there and the menus are well balanced and healthy. In the preschool room, my 3-year-old son is learning to write his name and recognise numbers, I think Sunrise is preparing him for school really well. He loves the library and the art room, as well as running around in the garden. They are unable to do forest school at the moment due to Covid but that is usually a highlight of the week for him. There are lots of options for games and role-play for all ages. Their reports on child development show they know my children’s personalities and needs as well as us!

Sunrise Daycare Nursery is an amazing small and nurturing structure for children. It was the perfect environment for our daughters to transition from childminder to nursery. We absolutely love the fact that this is a forest school nursery and that the girls get to spend a lot of time outside (they also have a large and lovely garden). The staff are very lovely and caring. The manager and her assistant are amazing! The food is freshly prepared daily.

Our son has been attending Sunrise since August last year and absolutely loves it. We were so nervous about sending him but Christine and the team were fantastic from day one and it became clear very quickly how much our boy loved being there. He always goes running in with a smile on his face and loves the wonderful team of ladies that look after him in the pre Toddler room. The activities he does each week have had a clear impact on his development and confidence and we couldn’t recommend Sunrise more!

My son started at Sunrise in January last year (2020) and he loves going. The staff are brilliant, very attentive to the child’s individual needs. They help children to develop their confidence and independence through a wide range of activities. My son is bilingual and he has been supported while he was learning English. As he is in pre-school age now, he is learning numbers and lettering as well as counting in a second language. We also get an update at the end of each day with all activities done and food eaten. The hours are long but also flexible, ideal for working parents. Finally, they managed communications during the pandemic in an excellent way. It is clear that they really care about the children. I would definitely recommend Sunrise. Best nursery in the area.

Our daughter has been at Sunrise for the last 3 years. Every day of her time there she has skipped in each morning looking forward to the day ahead and out each evening full of stories about what a great time she has had with her friends and teachers. As full-time working parents we needed a nursery that we could rely on and feel that our daughter would be safe, happy and exposed to learning experiences. We have not been disappointed. Sunrise has taught our daughter so much. From her early days in the baby room where she learnt to walk/talk to now, in the classroom, where she has learnt to write her name, recognise letters/numbers and develop interests in the world around her. The teachers are caring and supportive – they notice what she is interested in and support it through arts, crafts, imaginary play, discussion and so forth. The management is also happy to listen to parental concerns and work with us to address them. We are 100% satisfied with Sunrise and would highly recommend it.

Our daughter has really come into her own since starting Sunrise Nursery – she absolutely loves going and settled in so quickly (even asking over the Xmas holidays if she could go to school today!). Every day she comes home with so much artwork and new stories to tell about her friends which is so reassuring. We’re really impressed with all the different lessons they have and everything that the children are learning – straight away we noticed a huge difference in our daughter’s language, counting and confidence. Staff are friendly and really helpful with any queries and we are so grateful to how hard they’ve all been working through this extremely challenging time, thank you!

It’s been a difficult year for everyone and an odd time to be sending your child to nursery given the Covid measures that childcare providers have had to put in place. Having said that, we’ve felt totally comfortable with the care provided at Sunrise and have been really pleased with the communication throughout. As we’ve not been able to go inside the nursery as it stands, it’s been lovely to receive drawings, photos and other updates on the activities. Keep them coming! In addition, the staff come across really warm and caring, the activities fun and the menu nutritious and delicious. We really appreciate it all!

Our daughter has settled in well to Sunrise and built a strong bond with her key worker and the rest of the team. Their attentiveness and attitude have given us complete confidence throughout the process. They take on board all your feedback and work with you and your child. Developmentally we have seen our daughter come on in leaps and bounds. They do a huge variety of activities, spend a lot of time outside and we get wonderful artworks and pick up a smiling daughter at the end of each day. The staff always have time for an update. The manager knows everyone by name and always has time for a chat. The weekly updates we receive give tips as to how we can build on the weeks learning alongside comical updates on what our babies have been up to. Our whole time at nursery has been during COVID and the staff have been safe and considerate. Information is passed quickly and efficiently. We are thankful they are looking after our daughter.

This nursery is wonderful in every sense of the word. It’s a clean, healthy and loving environment. My daughter benefited from the Montessori teaching and the attention to detail in terms of the encouragement of hand-eye coordination. The approach to education is child-led and very nurturing. I love it that every day starts with yoga, singing and meditation. The food is vegan and delicious. The snacks are healthy. We were very sad that my daughter had to leave to go to school. Thank you to all the staff. We miss you!

Both of our sons have attended Sunrise nursery. Our first left and started school in September where they commented on what a great character he had and how confident he was. He loved going to Sunrise and always wants to come along and say hi to everyone when we’re picking up our second son, who started in the baby room in November. He also absolutely loves it and has a huge smile on his face every day. We were so happy to be able to secure a place for him at the nursery, especially after seeing how fantastic the team were with our first son’s development!

Our son has spent about a year here, and we can say hands down that this has been the most loving and caring place he could get into. The teachers are so involved, and the care and affection can be felt, especially when your child comes home and says he loves his teacher!
The teachers know the child in and out and give very, very detailed accounts of their progress, which we highly appreciate.
