St Ives Nursery

My granddaughter attends the nursery and has done for years. We have been to collect her on many occasions and I’ve even been in for her Mother’s Day tea which was a lovely celebration and opportunity to interact with other mums and grandmothers. I would recommend the nursery always.

Staff are wonderful and always let me know what my son has been up to, what he’s eaten, etc. He loves going here and has learned loads since starting a few months ago.

St Ives Nursery is a great place for little ones to be taken care of, have fun, enjoy and learn. Individual needs and preferences are accommodated, and there is a feeling of a comprehensive approach in all aspects of care, play, learning and development. The rooms and spaces are carefully decorated with nature motives, over the world landscapes and people. Toys and activities are always exciting. Food is freshly prepared on the spot and there is involvement from the older ones in helping out. Autonomy, talking and handling emotions is encouraged. My little one in the baby room has been very happy in the nursery since the beginning and we could not be more pleased.

My son started this nursery in September 2019, and has loved it every second! He was moved up to the pre toddlers room quite quickly after he started at 16 months old because they felt like that’s what he needed. He has formed amazing relationships with the staff and the children that go there. His speech and compassion for others since starting here has grown massively. He is 22 months and he can almost talk in sentences! He missed nursery so much during the lockdown, and he has recently gone back and has settled right back in as if he hasn’t been gone for 2 months. And was so happy to see his favourite members of staff.

Since starting at St Ives nursery, I have seen my little boy blossom. I spent a lot of time researching nurseries in the area and could not be more pleased that we made the decision to send him to St Ives. The staff are incredible and get as excited as I do when he reaches his new milestones.  I could not speak more highly regarding the care and individual attention he receives; it really does feel like an extended family. Every time I drop him off, everyone knows who he is and they always take the time to engage with us. It was the hardest thing I have ever done leaving him on the first day, but the staff took so much time to make sure that we were both ok and that my son settled in quickly. Promoting a safe, nurturing environment and a keen interest in individual development I could not recommend the nursery more highly: So much so, that I have even extended my contract in my current job so that my son can complete his nursery years with St Ives!

My son started nursery in September 2020 at the age of 2-years and 4-months. It was a big change for him as we speak Spanish at home, and it was going to be the first time for him to be around other kids too. He settled in amazingly well; he literally loves going to nursery and going to nursery has helped his development massively. He can now say a few words in English, he actually can say more words in English than he can in Spanish! The first time he came back home counting from 1 to 10, we could not believe it! We have found all the staff at the nursery very helpful and friendly, in particular, his key person. I feel we are working together in helping our son adapt to the changes and challenges and could not thank everyone enough for being so supportive. I really don’t have a single negative thing to say about this wonderful nursery and the amazing staff that look after our children.
For me, it’s the people who work in this setting that make it so easy for me to drop my son off every day. It was the same when my elder son was there too. The setting is a home from home, with each room and space utilised well and made interesting for the children. Staff treat every child as an individual, getting to know them so well, tailoring behaviour and activities towards the little one’s needs and interests.
We have used this nursery for the past five years between my two children. My eldest is now almost six, but he still lights up when he sees some of the staff that used to take care of him.
Staff retention seems good, particularly for the more experienced members of the team. Food is varied, healthy and interesting.
My little boy loves it. Would absolutely recommend St Ives Nursery (and often do) to any of my family and friends.

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for everything you do for my little lady.
Yesterday, when collecting her is a perfect reason why she has been with you since she was six months old. As we got to the gate to leave, her keyworker popped out to say goodbye. My little lady stopped in her tracks, ran over to keyworker, and gave her a big cuddle and a kiss on the shoulder.
To see her have that relationship with so many of your staff is amazing.
Everyone that has been with her has done amazing with her, and she is so happy and loves talking about her day the second we leave.

Amazing staff and setting. Would highly recommend. My daughter settled there really easily, and staff were always on hand to help if there were any issues, whichever room she was in. We’ll be sorry to leave!
