Springthorpe Day Nursery & Pre-school

Great nursery with great staff. My son loves to go there, not even one cry. Lots of activities with kids that teach them. Good communication with them, daily updates and friendly management. Highly recommended.

Apprehensive to leave my son on his first day of nursery, not only me, but my son didn’t want to leave me either. Not knowing the staff didn’t make it any easier. However, on the first day, the moment we walked through the door, the staff made us both comfortable, to the point my son didn’t look back at me, and I had no concerns about where I left him. I called several times on his first day to check how he was, each and every time, the staff were happy to talk to me and give me an update, and at no point did they get frustrated, kept giving me verbal reassurance, and I could sense happiness in their voices. I remember being a child, many years ago, crying as I didn’t want to go to nursery, my son, on the other hand, asks when he can return and play with his friends; he tells me stories about his teachers and other children. I would highly recommend this nursery, and my next child will also be going here.

Very happy with the childcare provided. My child really enjoys his time there. The staff are great, and the place is very clean, and there is plenty of things. There are lots of activities for my child to explore. All information is in the app.

My daughter’s needs are always met with this nursery. The staff that work closely with her always go above and beyond. She has lots of friends, and she has something new to tell us every day. I and Mom are very happy.

Staff are always very friendly. My son has struggled with being upset going, but they have really looked after. He looks forward to going now, which I didn’t think would happen, but that is all down to how reassuring and wonderful the staff are. The app is excellent as we get updates throughout the day.
Overall, I am very impressed and happy.

Management behaviour and attitude are greedy and disgusting. Springthorpe kept refusing entry for my child and requested PCR test results, even if she was not ill. Staff didn’t do as much as at least measure her temperature, instead kept refusing her entry from day to day while I saw other kids walking into the nursery with a severe cough. After contacting DfE and finding out no nursery is allowed to request PCRs for toddlers, the manager started to lie saying she never requested a PCR test.
At the top of this, I paid full month fees and stop bringing my child as the manager wouldn’t let her in. A month later she was cheeky enough to call me to request another month’s payment, as an excuse I was told I didn’t give notice in writing, but at the same time in 1 month’s time nobody even called to ask if the child is alright, if she’s coming back or how she’s doing, I received a phone call only when they were after money. I feel disgusted remembering this awful experience. Avoid this place!

Absolutely love this nursery! Staff are amazing. The manager is wonderful and is just brilliant at her job. Nursery is clean, brilliant toys/resources for the kids also!

My daughter has been attending the nursery since April, and for the short time she has been there, she absolutely loves it here. Myself as a parent, I am so pleased with the nursery and cannot fault a thing. All of the staff are welcoming, friendly and always approachable for chat. I am constantly updated with what my daughter eats, when she sleeps and what activities she does in the day via the app. She has come on leaps and bounds with her confidence since attending the nursery, and I have total peace of mind when she is there. We are encouraged as parents to be involved with our childs development, with monthly activities to do at home, and we are asked to submit information on what our children do outside of nursery. I honestly cannot think of a single bad word to say.

Fantastic nursery and great staff. My child has come along really well since attending. Great communication and an app where you can see how your child is doing. They teach your child skills, ready for starting school.

My son was going there up until July. We decided not to send any of my other children because we feel it went downhill and not because of the staff I would say the manager.
A very high staff turnover which I was told was because they are trying to get the right staff and let go of old staff that don’t fit what Tommies are trying to uphold. I was told this by the area manager. Which is fair enough but they only started letting me know who was looking after my son after I spoke to her. Previous to that, there were people there with no uniform.
My husband and I were not happy with the manager and her attitude towards my husband for a “misunderstanding” which wasn’t a misunderstanding at all, the manager lied. Along with other things that happened where I wasn’t listened to or just ignored.
The area manager was professional when she contacted me and obviously, she tried to sort the situation but I feel it’s my responsibility to tell other parents my situation.
