DirectionsNew Woods childcare is within the Children's Centre attached to Healdswood Primary school on Barker Avenue. Follow the path at the side of the school leading to the Children's centre, in the foyer selected the intercom 0-2 years, 2-3 years or 3-5 years, you will then be answered by a member of the team to let you in.

It took them time to settle in but now with the childcare centre team’s patience, they both will walk in cheerful. Even my son goes straight to them when he sees the team I have a two-year-old boy on the autism spectrum, the team are exceptional with him.

October 13, 2024 at 8:28 pmMy son cried many days when he realised I was leaving him but I had no worries as the ladies consistently comforted me/explained he had stopped within minutes of me leaving. To have that empathy/understanding and being spoken to like a regular person was a huge thing. I will never forget the part you played in both my kids’s development/development. There comes a point that its stops being just childcare; you became a big part of my life/my kids’s lives and I am so thankful for how you have helped shape their manners/skills/qualities; it makes me sense highly proud of the people they are becoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest New Woods; they provide fantastic care and the ladies are truly exceptional. ‘Thank you’ seems insignificant but a massive thank you to all of you that worked with my kids.

January 20, 2025 at 11:39 pmI’ve never had a concern in leaving them as the team here are fab, they are exceptionally approachable and understanding. Every morning they greet us with a welcoming smile and news of exciting activities planned for the day ahead. The setting has a highly clear structure and routine to follow, which truly helps the kids settle straight in. My eldest two kids truly thrived with both updates and understanding and I can say with self‑assurance that my youngest will be given every opportunity to do the same during his time at New Woods too.
My kids have so many fantastic memories of their time at New Woods such as sponsored events, fancy dress and craft afternoons. My kids have been coming to this setting since 2010.

January 27, 2025 at 5:06 pmThe initial visits arrangement is perfect yot ensure kids and parents sense comfortable to be left alone. The team are welcoming and approachable. I have been able to ask for extra hours when necessary in advance and have been accommodated when possible. My kid is cheerful to go to the childcare centre and I have seen her self‑assurance and ability grow thanks to the fantastic nurturing team and setting. I would highly suggest New Woods to other parents. My kid started at New Woods just before her first birthday and has been there for two years now.

February 4, 2025 at 5:01 amWe still have two currently attending here and they consistently come back so cheerful, the team have been so accommodating to their needs and the eldest one who no longer goes here keeps asking if he can go back. The facilities are to a high standard and with plenty of space for kids to playtime along with doing a mixture of actives. I will consistently suggest this childcare centre. Three out of our four boys have attend here and the team are absolutely remarkable!

February 12, 2025 at 10:32 amTeam are attentive, the building is spotless and the activities are lovely. Both my kids settled well when they started as great transition procedures are in place. Updates is outstanding and they make great use of the App, sending messages and photos throughout the day. The childcare centre offers highly great value for money with flexible hours and also tern time only – which is excellent for me as I work as a teacher. Both my kids are thriving due to the excellent early care the received here. I’ve used this childcare centre for both my kids and have recommended to all my friends.

I’ve known them for six years now, they took care of my daughter as well. they did a excellent job and they are still doing it. Hope they will remain the same and do their job in the future as well so they will teach the kids what will come in the future. Thank you to the best team of teaching. All the team are doing a excellent job taking care of my kid.

Consistently different activities on and consistently talk with parents after the session to let them know what’s been happening that day. My daughter has been here since November 2022 and she absolutely loves it!

April 9, 2025 at 4:02 pmOne thing I do not agree with, if our kids do not attend on bank holidays, we haven’t previously paid. Due to the Queen’s funeral, we are expected to! This means for some parents/carers they will actually have to pay twice for childcare! This is wrong especially given the current economic crisis! Outstanding service, sometimes stood waiting quite a long time for collection to go in.

My daughter attended from her 2-year funding up until going onto reception and has recently returned for after school club. Team have consistently communicated with me about her stay. Couldn’t get better team. Never had any problem with the team at new woods.

July 5, 2025 at 4:24 amSince attending the childcare centre she has grown into a fantastic little girl who is confident and bubbly. As a parent having to give my daughter to someone to look after at such a young age was highly hard, however, the team at New Woods Childcare were so fantastic at not only understanding the needs of my daughter but also taking in to account my feelings of leaving my baby.
Since my daughter has attended the childcare centre her updates has come on leaps and bounds and she even teaches me new childcare centre rhymes and the actions to go with them which is fantastic to see. Most days we receive a painting or picture which we treasure and at certain times of the year, the childcare centre celebrates and involves the kids in activities such as Christmas Craft which I look forward to each year. Overall the team are fantastic and an asset to the childcare industry. My daughter started with New Woods Childcare when she was six months old to allow me to go back to work on a part-time basis.
