New Cross Nursery & Pre-School

We love our nursery so much! Without having grandparent’s nearby, this is a massive part of our support network. Our little one loves her carer and is visibly excited about going to nursery. I couldn’t continue my work without this amazing service and I am safe in the knowledge that our daughter is not only safe but is also learning so much. Love that they go to the market to buy their own veg. Keep up the great work!

My child thrives at nursery and has a great relationship with all the staff in the room.
The feedback we get at the end of the day and the Friday 5 is full of enriching, fun and new activities that my daughter has explored. She is now so confident in social situations and the nursery and staff have a huge part to play in that.

I can tell my son is really happy going to the nursery that says everything.
It’s a shame I can’t see how he is doing there so much due to there being a restriction going into the nursery as coronavirus situation.
However, staffs usually give me great feedback in detail and I can access the online system.
I am pleased with everything they do in this difficult situation.

We love how focused the nursery is on play and development through play. The kids just seem to have so much fun with the committed and energetic staff team and their friends. Our child has been encouraged to become an independent, creative and kind little boy during his time at the nursery and has made such a lovely group of friends. Diverse in many ways, the nursery also seems to reflect the area in which we live. Highly recommended.

My child is very happy and wants to go to nursery all the time, so I’m happy with the place too. They do new and interesting activities all the time and always listened when I had something to say!

A well organised nursery full of love and creativity. This nursery reflects home, with continuity and stability for the children who attend.
The staff know the children – my child’s love of snails was reflected in activities. By 2, the children are taught to take their shoes off and to put their coats on alone, and to be kind to others.
New Cross has large grounds with trees and garden space, so children are outside all the time, despite an inner London setting. Children here, are familiar with tree roots, butterflies, puddles or seeing leaves overhead, and rain on wet days.
The nursery groceries are brought to reception — so fresh carrots, bananas, and pulses are visible. Diet is varied with rice, couscous and fish, fruit snacks and homemade daily cooking. The children have a help yourself penguin water jug all day long to keep hydrated.
Pre COVID parents were welcome anytime which was transparent.
Staff speak to parents daily on pick up about behaviour, eating, and activities.

New Cross is a very special nursery – my child only joined a couple of months ago and settled quicker than I could have hoped and is excited and loves going to nursery. The staff and management team are brilliant – they’re caring and friendly and provide feedback each day on all the wonderful and fun activities (including lots of water play and outdoor activities) that my child gets up to as well as weekly written observations on my child’s development. The management team are also very responsive and have been very good about incorporating and keeping parents updated on their COVID policies. The food seems great – the menu is very varied and healthy and I know they cater for any allergies or dietary requirements. The outside space is large compared to other nurseries and the baby room has good facilities – including a separate indoor soft playroom which I know they love exploring.

My son arrived at New Cross Nursery when he was 13 months. The baby’s room staff are incredible and it directly felt a home from home for him. My son enjoyed it so much, and we much appreciated the daily feedback, the food diversity and the amazing range of activities they proposed. My son has now moved to the toddler’s room and nothing has changed: friendly and professional staff, creative activities and they even developed an app so we can trace what’s happening to our child during the lockdown. My son runs to the nursery door every morning and comes back with a big smile when I pick him up…what more could I expect?
New Cross nursery and all its staff is a rare gem in which you can put all your trust in! Thank you all for being so amazing with our children!

Our son has been at Leyf New Cross nursery since December 2016. From the baby room to pre-school, he has thrived. The manager and her team are doing an excellent job of caring for the children. The staff are warm, welcoming and nurturing. We could not have been happier. We will all miss you!

We have nothing but positive things to say about this nursery. They are super, caring and attentive. If there are any concerns or issues, they resolve it really quickly and with kindness. My two children love it, and we look forward to them looking after our third one when they arrive.
