We are a small family run Day Nursery business owned by Mike and Penny Ballardie and managed by Harriet Ballardie.
In January 2018 My Sunshine Day Nursery opened its first Nursery setting in Mortlake. Our Nursery is run by a dedicated Management and Staff Team – all very highly qualified in early years childcare. Our mantra in setting up this Nursery is that both the best education and care for your child, as well as ultimate success for our business, comes from the quality and the consistency of the Staff team that we employ. Therefore we are committed to finding the best possible Staff members so as to provide you, as parents, ‘peace of mind’ in the knowledge that your child is being cared for in a safe, healthy, fun and loving environment. Every child’s welfare and care is at the heart of everything we do at My Sunshine Day Nursery & Pre-School.

March 2, 2021 at 12:00 amWe’ve had a fantastic experience at My Sunshine Day Nursery. We sent our baby at 7 months of age and were worried he was little and it would take a while for him to settle in. But the staff were incredible and we are so amazed and proud of his development over the last 3 months. Nothing is too much trouble and he absolutely loved going to nursery and seeing the staff and his friends. They do incredible activities from obstacle courses to messy play and outdoor time in the garden. Highly recommend!

April 30, 2021 at 12:00 amMy second child is about to graduate from My Sunshine and I cannot wait to have my third discovering the wonderful world they are setting for them there. As such, the nursery becomes better and better every year, it’s been fabulous to see what they have been offering the children, how happy they are to go and how ready they are for school when they finish their time in preschool.

May 10, 2021 at 12:00 amWonderful nursery. My twins are extremely happy here which is so good. The children regularly have different activities. My twins are ways happy to attend. Each day they ask if is time for them to go to nursery.
The management and staff team are superb! Always approachable, honest and committed to their work my children love them.

Good hygiene and safety standards, efficient management (handling of absences, backup plans, precautionary measures), open communication with parents, etc. Most importantly, my son is happy and he thrives in My Sunshine! May 18, 2021 at 12:00 amOur two-year old daughter really enjoys her toddlers sessions at My Sunshine in Mortlake – she almost always seems happy to be dropped off there and on good form still when she comes out several hours later. We recently went through a set of the photos that get issued after each session, and somewhat to our surprise, she was able to recall the name of pretty much every other child, and with clear warmth, despite never having mentioned any of them to us previously!
Also, we always get the impression that the staff care, try to keep the days varied, and are very good at letting us know anything we might need or wish to know. Plus they make an effort for special days in the calendar.
In summary, we are very happy with the nursery, and more importantly, so is our daughter.

May 21, 2021 at 12:00 amBoth my children are at My Sunshine. They love it there. My youngest is almost a lockdown baby and stands by the front door at home ready to go on nursery days. The first time she did a baby class was at nursery as they do Hartbeeps each week. Despite barely seeing anyone in her first year, she has settled in so well and made great attachments. She comes out after a day of nursery so happy.
My eldest is in preschool. He loves the tennis lessons there and being with his friends. They learn so much, I’m always astonished by what new thing he comes out with. It’s great preparation for when he starts school.
The staff are all really friendly and they have really made the most of the space. Communication is great too as there’s an app to keep you updated throughout the day. The photos you get are the best.

May 21, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at My Sunshine since he was 11 months old and we have been delighted with the care and love he receives. He loves his teachers and all the fun activities they do on a daily basis (from tennis to French, to Sporty Mini’s, cooking and gardening). The manager and her team go above and beyond for the kids and the parents. They have always worked with us to provide continuity for our son and to make sure any changes at home (such as a new sibling) are taken into account. Thank you to the whole team for all you do.

She started the day after she turned 1 – it was tough leaving her to go back to work, but the staff in the baby room made it as easy as it could be. My daughter loves going in and I love seeing what she is doing and following all the info on the Famly app. I cannot rate the staff highly enough – not just super professional, but also warm, kind and understanding. The third-party activities on offer are incredible – tennis, French, heartbeeps and the creativity of the staff is amazing. No one day looks the same. It’s a warm, happy and highly engaging setting – highly recommend.

August 9, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been incredibly happy at My Sunshine – he absolutely loves going. The setting is really welcoming and staff are wonderful – kind, caring and fun. We get excellent communication from staff via the app so one is always aware of the child’s activities, food intake, sleeping etc. and we receive lots of lovely photos every day. There’s a fantastic array of activities arranged every day. The staff are very attentive in observing, encouraging and recording each individual child’s development.
We feel very sad that we are moving away from the area and will need to find a new nursery for him. I really don’t know how we are going to find anywhere that is as good as My Sunshine.

September 22, 2021 at 12:00 amMy 1 year old daughter has been going to My Sunshine for about 3 months now. It is her first nursery and she is absolutely loving it. The management and all staff are lovely, responsible and extremely helpful. The food is very good, the activities are fun. The parent app keeps the parents updated about everything in real-time including the baby’s developmental journey.
I am very happy and comfortable that they are taking care of the little one and recommend them to everyone I know.

I feel confident sending him there 3 days a week as I know he is so well looked after and has an amazing day full of activities. They understand his personality and quirks and do everything they can to accommodate his interests. They have so many wonderful activities to celebrate different cultures and special days too.

Our daughter’s development has sky-rocketed since she started nursery here, and we know she is safe and well taken care of here. May 30, 2022 at 12:00 amMy Sunshine Nursery has been the absolute best thing for my son. He loves it so much, has the best carers and has made some life long friends, as have we as parents. He is always stimulated and does different things so never gets bored. They serve delicious and nutritious meals which he eats far more of than anything at home. The nursery staff have been amazing and really accommodating, and we can’t wait for our second child to join them in the baby room in a few months.
