June 22, 2020 at 12:00 am.Having sent two children to Windmill I can only say the school gets even better each year. The headteacher is phenomenal, she puts passion, years of experience and warmth into everything she does and that tone is reflected by the happiness of the children.
The children are respected as individuals and teaching is very much tailored towards their individual development
During the last 4 months, the schools and the company that owns it have behaved in an impressive way, with excellent communication and activities for the children before they were able to return to school. I can not recommend Windmill highly enough

October 15, 2020 at 12:00 amWindmill Montessori is a small nursery located in the heart of Maida Vale. There is a great sense of community among the parents and children attending. You get a sense of homeliness and safety, which contribute to creating a serene and nurturing environment.
The school location is very nice, with the indoor benefiting from ample windows ensuring the children always have direct natural light. The outside space is very well sized, especially considering the small number of children attending the school. All the spaces are always notably clean, which I think is not too easy to find in London nurseries. The teachers are kind and full of attention.
But the one thing that won me over entirely when my child started is that you never hear children crying at either pickup or drop off. It’s incredible how happy they are to go to school every day!
I guess the only downside is that the nursery follows the school term timetable and that it closes at 3pm!

October 15, 2020 at 12:00 amTwo of my children went to (and one is still at) Windmill Montessori Nursery. We are extremely happy with the school, the teachers, the nurturing environment and curriculum. Our children gained in confidence, learnt to express their feelings and be independent. They made friends and are always happy to go.
We were also very impressed how the school managed the lockdown and post lockdown situation, not charging fees to parents when the school was closed, communicating permanently with the parents, making sure the environment was safe for everyone while minimising stress for parents.
I strongly recommend Windmill Montessori Nursery.

October 15, 2020 at 12:00 amWe couldn’t be happier with Windmill Montessori Nursery. My eldest son is extremely happy there, the environment is very friendly and relaxed, yet they learn a lot every day. The teachers pay a lot of attention to every child’s needs and provide weekly feedback and updates about what they have been busy with. The Headteacher puts all her energies and commitment into what she does, always making sure that parents’ expectations, as well as children’s needs, are met. I could not recommend Windmill Montessori Nursery highly enough and I also look forward to my second child joining in a few months.

October 19, 2020 at 12:00 amFrom Day 1, my experience of Windmill has been entirely positive. The Head Teacher is extremely friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and supportive. She is also very easy to contact, always picking up the phone and replying to emails. My children are thriving as a result of the time spent at Windmill and I drop them off each morning knowing they will be well looked after and cared for by the staff.

The headteacher is absolutely wonderful and dedicated. There is so much effort into every activity that is planned and she still accommodates all the parent’s requests. Since attending my son’s confidence and self-belief has improved significantly. I highly recommend the Windmill to anyone thinking of joining.

Children are helped to develop independence and confidence in a nurturing and caring environment. Teachers pay a great amount of attention to the development of each child and children. We could not be happier.

October 20, 2020 at 12:00 amWe are very happy with Windmill Montessori. Our son loves going there and only after a few months in, he has developed lots of new skills. The teachers are very caring and attentive, lots of different activities that stimulate the children’s development. I really like the outdoor space where the kids can play (it’s rather small but that’s not surprising in central London). Through the app parents get ongoing updates on the child’s development as well as pictures from the activities. We really could not be happier with the nursery and the staff! I highly recommend Windmill Montessori.

We have been very happy with the loving and nurturing environment at the nursery and my children have thrived there! The teachers are excellent at understanding the needs of the child and tailoring their approach to handling individual personalities. The Head Teacher is enthusiastic and conscientious and very good at communicating with the parents. The online app where your teacher can post progress updates and photos of your child to share with the parents on a regular basis is a new addition this term and we are very happy with it. I wholeheartedly recommend Windmill to all prospective parents!

November 12, 2020 at 12:00 amWe did extensive research before joining Windmill and our expectations were exceeded by a mile. The head teacher has a “can-do” attitude which percolates to the rest of the staff. The daily routine is meticulously organised and takes into account specific needs. We felt individually cared for as a family. The activities here are fun and challenging at the same time – both of our kids were equally happy and busy. There is a good mix of child (Montessori) and adult initiated activities. In addition to learning about the world, the kids were able to build an educational base strong enough to successfully move on to academically selective schools. The nursery took assessments very seriously. Above all, both children have very warm memories of Windmill and always remember it as a happy place.
The teachers seemed very happy too – they really enjoy their jobs and form individual connections with children! Same impression about the support staff. We feel blessed to have been part of Windmill family.

May 17, 2021 at 12:00 amOur experience is fairly short, as our son has been there only for a month but he seems to enjoy it. The staff seem friendly and caring, they look after the children but also give them their independence. They are well organised and clean. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, the separation from the kids especially in the first week, was a little abrupt but it slightly got better in the following weeks.

June 25, 2021 at 12:00 amWe had only heard good things about this nursery before we decided to put our twins there. The kids took a while to settle in as they weren’t used to seeing new faces during the pandemic. The teachers were really patient and caring. It didn’t take the kids long when they started enjoying getting ready for school, having met new friends, getting to play and learn new things every day. It’s been about 3 months now and they can’t stop talking about their teachers. We notice their growing abilities, nurturing their independence in daily activities and I’m also glad to see the fondness increasing between them. All thanks to Windmill… I’m happy that this nursery was our first choice & we didn’t have to look further!

January 13, 2022 at 12:00 amWow! 5 stars all around! We had been looking for a good nursery for a long time then as soon as we walked into the Windmill Montessori Nursery School we were blown away! We got an amazing warm and inviting feeling from the staff members and the environment. The nursery itself is light bright, clean and colourful. You can see that all of the staff members genuinely care about the well being, safety and development of your child.
It is incredibly organised lovely nice small groups with excellent staff to pupil ratios.
Our son had found it sometimes challenging to interact socially with other children and when meeting adults he would go insane! Now he has developed so quickly in such a short space of time, now he interacts excellently with other children and adults. He talks positively about his teachers and his friends at nursery. He loves telling us how much fun he’s had and what he’s learnt each day. We are so so proud of our sons progress whilst being at Windmill.

April 7, 2022 at 12:00 amOur son settled into Windmill Montessori really well (after being at home with us for 2 full years). He attends the morning sessions at the moment. We like the sense of orderliness and calm at the nursery and our son is thriving in the supportive setting. He speaks openly about his teachers; he is clearly warmly looked after and cared for. The low child to teacher ratio gives me confidence that his needs are being assessed and he is being developed. The garden is a big perk – he loves being outside and it is rare to find a Montessori with outdoor space in our neighbourhood. The nursery is well-managed and that leads to a happy environment for everyone. Our son lights up when he sees a classmate at the park in a Windmill uniform. He says “friend from x (blue, purple, etc) group” – it’s helping him develop an understanding of community. Thanks Windmill!

December 1, 2022 at 12:00 amVery good nursery, every week our son comes with new songs, words etc… the staff are attentive and they do a lot of activities indoors and outdoors.
We can feel how quickly our son is learning and how much he loves going there!

May 31, 2023 at 12:00 amMy daughter recently started at the Montessori and her transition was so seamless- she wanted to stay longer on her very first day. On her days in, she comes home happy and full of stories and speaks of her teachers with affection. I’ve found communication with staff to be particularly good, with swift responses and lots of reassurance with any queries. I’m looking forward to her further developing holistically in an environment which is clearly both creative and nurturing.
