Child 1st (Bakewell)

Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery is honestly amazing. When my daughter first started here she was 1, she couldn’t talk much and was only just starting to walk. After over a year of them doing the Every Child a Talker (ECaT) and Every Child a Mover (ECaM) programmes with her they have helped her become a talkative, running toddler. They are also amazing with any dietary requirements and always keep in touch regarding dietician appointments that I have for my daughter. I can never put into words the gratitude that I have for the staff at the nursery for all that they have done for my daughter and my family! Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

My little boy started at Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery earlier this month at only 6 months old, I have had the best experience possible. The girls in the baby room are somewhat incredible they are absolutely faultless and management has been so lovely from the start.
They have made me feel so comfortable leaving him, I was terribly nervous. He goes in smiling and comes home smiling so I couldn’t ask for much more. He has already come on massively in the first three weeks, they have been introducing new solid foods and blended which has been a massive help for the weaning process and holding his sippy cup himself (which he now insists he does himself). I get regular updates on what he’s been doing on the app which is so reassuring along with pictures. I’m so happy we managed to get him a space, I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

Child 1st (Bakewell) is an excellent nursery.
Our children really do love going to nursery. The amount of activities they pack into the day is fantastic, including arts, crafts, maths, learning, writing, numbers and plenty of outdoor time. The nursery park facilities are lovely with a small forest area.
The staff are invaluable. They are very invested in developing the children in every room and are particularly caring about the wants and needs of the children. They provide great advice from their experiences. They support the children in their individual interests. The journals we’ve received of crafts and pictures are lovely.
The daily updates on meals, naps and toilet time are very much appreciated.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone!

We have had all our three children at Child 1st Bakewell nursery and I can honestly say I have never had one issue or complaint to make. The children are always happy and well looked after. My children have always been happy to go in in the morning and the staff always know the children well and truly care about them. It makes such a difference to go off to work knowing your children are happy and safe.

All of my children currently attend Child 1st Bakewell nursery. They all love coming and the staff are incredible with them. The staff are so attentive to their needs, support their learning and education, and keep us as parents fully informed. The Easter activities they did with the children were amazing and a big hit in our house. Thank you to all the staff, you make leaving my little ones to go to work, a lot easier, knowing how happy they are at nursery.

Child 1st (Bakewell) Day Nursery has been amazing for my 1-year-old. The development I have seen in him since starting and his confidence is wonderful. He is always so smiley at drop-off and pick-up. The girls always make me feel so confident in leaving him with them and I know he is in safe hands. The communication and information sharing are really good and it is massively appreciated. Amazing work team baby room and Bakewell nursery.

Fantastic nursery, all staff are extremely friendly, my daughter has been there since baby room, now in preschool. She talks about how amazing preschool is, comes home smiling and wants to stop there sometimes.
They have plenty of outdoor activities to forest school etc.
Would highly recommend this nursery.

Child 1st Bakewell has helped the development and made learning fun for our 4 year old. We feel extremely happy with the teaching and care our daughters receive. They are shown so much love from their teachers and their key workers are absolutely brilliant at both teaching numeracy and letters but through to consideration and looking after their well being – our girls bounce in.

Amazing nursery. My son was deferred, so did two years in preschool and still hasn’t outgrown it. The staff are fab and so caring. He loves going in and it’s always a ‘yay’ when it’s a nursery day. If I had anymore kids, I would 100% use Bakewell nursery.

My son has been going to this nursery from being 10 months old and he is now 2 years and 3 months old and just about to transition from the baby room to the toddler room. My son was a COVID baby when he first went to the nursery; he was very clingy and wouldn’t go to anyone else. Going to this nursery has been the best thing we have done for our child; he is now such a confident, outgoing and friendly boy who is happy to be looked after by many other people! He has totally changed for the better. This is mainly down to the staff in the baby room at nursery. They have done such a great job with him! The team are truly wonderful! Child 1st Bakewell is like his second home, it has a very personal homely feel to it. I couldn’t recommend this nursery more!
