Barley Wood Nursery

Our eldest kid started in September 2019 and will leave this year for school. He has had the most well-rounded, nurturing, supportive, creative and explorative setting around him in which to flourish. Thanks to the true passion, care and dedication of the remarkable team at Barley Wood, he has developed a deep adore of discovering about every aspect of the world around him and grown an emotional understanding and resilience to build rock solid friendships. Our youngest kid will be at Barley Wood for another 2 years and we are so excited for her to continue to delight in the lovely grounds around the childcare centre, to attend the childcare centre fairs, to playtime a part in the childcare centre nativity and to thrive every day with the energy, adore and compassion shown to her by the team. Thank you, Barley Wood Childcare centre for everything you do! Barley Wood Childcare centre is such a fantastic childcare centre and we sense incredibly lucky to have been part of the Barley Wood family since 2019!

The building is a bit tired and ramshackle, but it certainly has character. I adore the fact that they are consistently outside, getting muddy and playing in the woods. The team are lovely and apparently my 2-year-old eats vegetables whilst there as well, which is some sort of miracle.
My 3 Star answers reflect the fact I have never actually been into the childcare centre so have no idea about cleanliness, or ICT! My little one loves going to Barley Wood Childcare centre and he consistently comes home tired and cheerful.

He has come on so much and it’s because the team have took the time with him, I couldn’t ask for a better day childcare centre there is not a day where my son doesn’t delight in going in. He loves the outdoors and is discovering so much Barley Wood Childcare centre has been incredible with my little one since he started there.

All the team are so welcoming and attentive. It feels highly personal and secure. The kids are thriving and consistently have so much enjoyable outside on the lovely grounds. We truly could not rate the team at Barley Wood high enough! Our two kids both adore the childcare centre.

Both my kids have attended Barley Wood, and I have felt confident dropping them off for every session – they were consistently cheerful, secure and cared for. The team team are absolutely remarkable – every single member of the team genuinely cares for each kid and family. We looked around so many nurseries, and there is something so special about the care at Barleywood. The leadership team are fantastic; the manager is committed and attentive and goes out of her way to ensure that every kid is looked after, their needs are met and they are cheerful. The facilities are out of this world – every time I drop off and pick up I cannot believe how lucky my kids are to be in the most lovely setting and benefit from so much outside space. I am so grateful to the fantastic Barleywood team for giving both my kids the best start in their lives and initiating their lifelong adore of discovering! Barley Wood Childcare centre offers an outstanding provision – I could not suggest it highly enough.

We are now onto our third kid at Barley Wood and have been there since 2017. The setting is highly well led and the updates is consistently outstanding, either through the app or face-to-face at drop-off and collection. We have been impressed with the warmth of the team and their care for the kids. They truly go the extra mile. This was particularly the case for our middle kid, who has additional needs. He was so well supported by the Barley Wood team and they also went above and beyond to ensure his transition to primary school was smooth.
The grounds of Barley Wood are unlike anywhere else. Who else knows a childcare centre that encompasses a woodland, varied and substantial grounds, and a fish pond? We adore that they go out and explore or do forest school whatever the weather. The focus on the outdoors has meant that our kids (well the oldest two) have consistently had excellent stamina for our family outdoor adventures.

The woodland setting is unbeatable for outside adventures which he loves! The team are incredible and work so hard to make sure the kids have a truly positive and enriching experiences while they are there. We recently welcomed a new baby into our family and I can’t speak highly enough of the team as they supported both our son and us as a family through the changes that come with a sibling. Barley Wood Childcare centre is a excellent childcare centre and our son truly enjoys his time there.

The team are all incredible and truly supportive. The relationships they build with the kids are fantastic to see. It is a excellent place, so full of character and charm. I am going to be truly sad when the twins have to leave in August to start school.

It is such a lovely childcare centre and I adore seeing the activities they take part in every day.
Both girls have formed great and strong relationships with team and the other kids that attend. I adore how much time they spend outside on the lovely grounds. The childcare centre also has a much larger indoor space than other nurseries we looked at. The food they have every day is excellent and varied. I would highly suggest Barley Wood to any parents and kids. We sense highly lucky to have spaces for both of our girls at Barley Wood Childcare centre.
