Description
Acorn Day Nursery (Hedgerows) is a 48 place day nursery in Netherfield, Milton Keynes. Attached to the Hedgerows family centre, the nursery transferred to us from Milton Keynes Council and offers fully-funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
The nursery offers full and part-time care for children aged four months to four years, and is open 7:30am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. All Acorn nurseries are closed for all bank holidays, between Christmas and new year, plus our four training days each year. This means that monthly fees for 2024 are calculated over 49 weeks. You will not be charged for these days, however fees are payable for additional closure days which are out of our control, eg: additional bank holidays over the standard eight. Funded childcare options are available.
The nursery provides children with a caring, challenging and stimulating environment. Children are supported by a highly qualified and experienced staff team who have ample knowledge and experience of child development and special education needs. All children are assigned a key person which helps children to become familiar with the setting and to feel confident and safe within it.

September 15, 2022 at 12:00 amMy daughter was attending another nursery and she was extremely unsettled so I decided to take her out and send her to Acorn at Hedgerows instead. Everyone at Hedgerows was so lovely and incredibly supportive to my daughter and she settled straight away. I highly recommend this nursery to everyone who wants a calm and homely feel environment for their child. Thank you ever so much.

November 7, 2022 at 12:00 amMy kids are happy. Acorn is always looking to help families and children. My child has become more confident and his speech is improving. He enjoys coming to nursery and loves all the different activities put on daily especially the outdoors and bugs.

I get updated on how my kids progressing all the time and they have so many good resources and a range of things for the children to do there. 100% would recommend

March 22, 2023 at 12:00 amMy little boy joined Acorns in March and can only sing praises to all staff members. My child has developed new skills, and that is only thanks to the staff at Acorns.
Nurseries facilities are always clean and tidy, and their Health & Safety regalements satisfy me as a parent. Their food menu is over the charts – the variety of meals and snacks is impressive.
Bonus to the amazing service is the app for the individual child where parents can monitor their child’s activities and routine – that helps to be up to date with everything.
I highly recommend this nursery to everyone who wants to send their child to Acorns at Hedgerows.

March 23, 2023 at 12:00 amMy daughter started nursery in January 2023; she found separation from me very hard and cried often. The staff at the nursery were absolutely brilliant and helped her to settle in; they have lots of patience. I love the activities and learning they provide.

March 24, 2023 at 12:00 amAbsolutely fantastic Nursery. My son has been coming here for the past year, he loves it soo much. My daughter was at the nursery two years before him and it is mostly the same staff, albeit new faces. All I can say is the staff are brilliant. It’s not easy to leave your child in the care of anyone to go to work: but I have full confidence in them as they are just soo lovely and good at their job; as well as being so involved and provide the best experience for him. They keep me updated on everything he is doing and have a great routine in place; Aswell as pictures and updates on all that he has been doing while there. They have also been an integral part of getting him potty trained and fully out of nappies. Thank you for all you do!

March 29, 2023 at 12:00 amI can’t say any negatives regarding the nursery. All the staff are lovely, patient and caring; they do their best for my son even though he can be difficult at times. They have nice healthy food, and they do so many activities with and for the children.
It’s a great place to take your kids. My son loves every minute he is there.

March 29, 2023 at 12:00 amHedgerow nursery has filled me with such confidence that they look after my boy with the highest standards. Our child is 14 months old and has recently started in the Acorn group. Our key worker has really helped him develop his skills in socialising and communication and has pushed him to eat more which was our biggest concern. The nursery is very clean and highly equipped to keep the children entertained. The app is very reassuring to keep you updated on the little ones during the day. Thank you to all the staff for the hard work you d; keep up the good work!

My child has improved a lot more since one of the staff members has been there, understands things a lot more and starting to eat which he never would whatsoever. Always doing different activities for the children, forest school is really good also, would definitely recommend this nursery.

April 4, 2023 at 12:00 amThe best way I could describe the nursery is a home away from home. The team are just fantastic, the care and attention my child gets is more than I could ever hope for. I feel like they take real interest into his personality (what he likes doing, what he doesn’t) with such enthusiasm and encouragement. I honestly couldn’t be happier, I know that when I drop him off that he will be looked after and engaged with.

The staff made sure she didn’t even feel our absence, she is more upset when I have to take her home than in the morning when I tell her we are going to the nursery – she has a total smile.
