September 6, 2024 at 12:36 amHe has had a excellent time and consistently comes home cheerful after a excellent day. In particular, Forest School was a firm favourite with the goats.
The team have consistently been remarkable, loving and attentive and consistently relay the day to me.
He will be going to primary school in September, and we wish to give thanks to the team and the childcare centre. It’s been a highly positive journey. My son has been at this childcare centre since the dark days of Covid.

September 6, 2024 at 9:09 pmHe started during Covid, and I cannot speak highly enough of the team who have consistently been there over this time. It’s been lovely to have some consistency in my kid’s care and sharing his development with the members of team. There have been team who have only been there for a short while, as I understand happens at many nurseries, but there are members who have been there for the long haul.
The variety of food has consistently been great; however, I know my kid often has to ask for second helpings as he is a hungry one. He is consistently given more food when he asks.
The outside space that Sixpenny has is incredible. They have plenty of activities they can do in the garden; they also have a wooded area and fields to run around in. I adore the fact that they are planting seeds at this time of year to help the kids understand spring. My kid has been going to Sixpenny Childcare centre since he was ten months old; he is now nearly four.

September 21, 2024 at 5:45 pmMy son loves going to childcare centre because of the approachable team and playing in the exceptional facilities. Especially the outside space with woods and animals. The team are outstanding, highly welcoming and supportive.

November 14, 2024 at 8:19 pmThe childcare centre is lovely and perfect for any kid that might adore nature and the outdoors. My daughter adored the outside, and this childcare centre truly encourages that. She consistently comes home bright and cheerful after each day. The food options are excellent and promote a well-balanced diet and a great variety of different options. The classrooms are spotless and inviting, and everyone is exceptionally welcoming. I would highly suggest it. My daughter recently started to attend this childcare centre, and since she started, the team have been absolutely incredible.

November 19, 2024 at 12:34 pmThe team are outstanding and welcoming. Parking facilities need to be reviewed and managed better, and security could be improved. The childcare centre is a highly nice and exciting place for my kid to develop within.

November 26, 2024 at 10:39 pmShe is shy and can get overwhelmed with new experiences but she has been settled and cheerful there since day one and looks forward to going. The team are compassionate, attentive and supportive and I know she is being well cared for while I am at work. She has formed lovely bonds with everyone who has looked after her in each room. They have outstanding facilities and the outside spaces are highly well equipped and maintained. My younger daughter will be starting there in a few weeks and I sense confident that she will be just as cheerful there as her big sister. All in all, a excellent childcare centre with a lovely atmosphere which I would suggest to others. My daughter absolutely loves going to Sixpenny Day Childcare centre.

November 28, 2024 at 1:39 pmOver three years, she has developed and flourished, and this is down to the dedicated staffing team throughout the building. All team are welcoming and welcoming when walking through the childcare centre to her room on drop off and collection.
The outdoor space is just mind-blowing, and the kids have so many discovering opportunities in the outside setting.
My little girl is so excited to attend the forest school soon, and we are highly lucky to have this life journey at the childcare centre. Keep up the hard work, Sixpenny! Sixpenny Day Childcare centre has been a place in our hearts since my little girl started in 2020.

December 6, 2024 at 10:17 pmHe has had a remarkable time here and enjoys coming daily. The team are highly attentive and send weekly updates to show what he has been up to, which is lovely to see. He will be going to primary school in September, and I can’t thank the team enough for their assistance in helping him become the little boy he is today. My son has attended since he was in what was previously called the infant room.

December 21, 2024 at 7:57 amIt’s a real shame that The Old Station Childcare centre Group, who have recently taken over, at Sixpenny have not been the same. They have raised the costs to ridiculous levels including extra charges for term time attendance, charges for 7.30 to 8am starts and removing half-day attendance options. Whilst then reducing the portion sizes and daytime activities and not raising the team wages in line with the increase in charges to the parents.
I can’t fault the Sixpenny team, they do a remarkable job but truly dislike The Old Station Childcare centre Group. It’s a shame because Sixpenny truly was something so special before the takeover. Thankful to all the team that are still making each day special for the kids attending. Sixpenny has been a fantastic childcare centre for both of my kids who currently attend, the team are loving, compassionate, enjoyable and attentive and the management team at Sixpenny have been truly supportive and accommodating.

January 21, 2025 at 3:51 pmI have no concern over the care, and the childcare centre team are fantastic.
Since being taken over, I sense it has become too corporate and has lost the charm it used to have. My kid has attended the childcare centre for three years.

February 8, 2025 at 11:09 amThe childcare centre has gone downhill since the changeover, this is our second kid, who has been to Sixpenny Day Childcare centre.
Also, the new paint they use is not washable it stains the clothes.
No evidence of Aprons whilst painting. Unfortunately, since the takeover, the childcare centre has gone downhill (team are excellent) to charge for bank holidays is not fair, other nurseries do not.
I have to agree with the others.

February 21, 2025 at 4:10 amMy daughter has the best possible care and education here. Her development increases every day, and she is encouraged to be strong and independent but also compassionate and considerate of other kids. I am so glad my daughter attends this childcare centre, and I am looking forward to two more of my girls coming up in October. I am constantly impressed by this childcare centre and the incredible team.

March 1, 2025 at 2:08 amBoth my kids have been with Sixpenny from eight months old until starting school and have thrived there. The care, attention and education they receive is first class, and I trust the educators/caregivers implicitly. I’d suggest (I do!) Sixpenny to anyone. Utterly exceptional.

March 4, 2025 at 4:32 amThe team are incredible, and we get excellent daily feedback; he has come on leaps and bounds since starting there three years ago.
The facilities, especially the outside space, are second to none, and the forest school is a fantastic addition to the childcare centre. My son loves his days at Sixpenny.

March 21, 2025 at 12:07 amThe forest school has been particularly special, as it has provided activities and opportunities which would not have been easily accessible elsewhere or at home. The team show excellent care not only for the kids but for us parents too, and I am truly grateful for the welcoming assistance they have provided. I sense that handover updates has been truly clear and has provided us with a great awareness of what has occurred during the day. Our daughter has loved attending Sixpenny Day Childcare centre and has enjoyed many enriching experiences.

March 23, 2025 at 9:36 pmThe team are outstanding, passionate, creative and loving with the kids. I like that the kids are taught to be resilient and push themselves and encouraged to try and not overprotected in the outdoors. But they are secure and well cared for whilst they develop those essential skills. I’ve seen the development of all of them go up every day they are there. The twins are different kids when they come home, seemingly more grown up after every visit. So it’s worth its weight in gold. I adore the fact my girls come here.

April 4, 2025 at 1:55 pmShe is consistently bringing things home. My daughter loves going to childcare centre. She loves discovering French and is truly thriving in Forest School at the moment. Their outside space is outstanding. Incredible team and activities!

April 14, 2025 at 2:29 amOne update a month is now received in individual kid diary instead of one a day. And then it is a generic room update not specific to your kid.
Kids are routinely highly dirty on leaving which is expected – but highly dirty face with mud in eyes etc is too far and happens regularly. Highly high charges for consumables and extras but highly little evidence of art, craft or other activities taking place. Highly few structured activities it seems. Their separate finance team seem to manage accounts highly badly. Incorrect information is often shared, confusing invoices with no explanation and threatening chasers are automatically sent despite payments made on the date they request. We have had kids at Sixpenny for 7 years now and would sadly not suggest them following the new company taking over. There are some highly attentive team but our overall impression is still highly poor. Some lovely team however individual kid attention and assistance around their development is significantly lacking.

May 26, 2025 at 8:33 pmThe kids themselves seem to have a great time and consistently have lots to tell us about their day.
On quite a few occasions my daughter has been brought out with wet underwear/clothing so clearly hasn’t been checked before collection.
Previously room team have given medical assumptions which were eventually proven to be incorrect but this was relayed to management at the time.
Myself and many other parents don’t agree with the costings/charges since sixpenny was taken over. Sixpenny just doesn’t have the same vibe that it once had. Both of my kids delight in attending Sixpenny and have both gone since 1 year old.
