She’s now 3-years-old and still absolutely loves her days at childcare centre. We have never doubted the level of care, compassion and attention she gets at Childcare centre. Next year, our little girl will go to school and we will be sad to leave the Old School Childcare centre. Our little girl has been at the Old School Childcare centre since she was 7-months-old.

I looked around a few nurseries and am so glad I chose this one for my kid to flourish in. This childcare centre has been very supportive towards myself and my son from the tiny age of ten months he’s now two and a half years. They feed the kids balanced, homemade meals and assistance their development through calm and nurturing approaches.
They even gave me a special bag filled with compassionate words and treats when I dropped him off for the first time because they understood how hard it could be on us parents too!
They are an empathetic, compassionate and very well-trained team that care deeply for the kids as individuals. I am able to leave my son secure in the knowledge that he will be cuddled and cared for in a compassionate and nurturing setting with team who are clear and honest about the smallest of bumps and predicaments.
The manager is an absolutely exceptional and empathetic captain at the helm, who is hugely experienced within this field. The Old School Childcare centre is a remarkable setting for any kid to develop.

Our daughter started back in January 2022 and has got on incredibly. She has settled in straight away and every team member we have engaged with has been so compassionate. They have put us at complete ease and were consistently so cheerful to receive calls when I was checking in on her, at the beginning. A truly magical place for your little ones to grow. An incredible childcare centre for your little ones with incredible access to the outdoors as well as incredible extras like music and gymnastics.

He was quite anxious about changing nurseries due to the lockdown – we need not have had worried! The team have been incredible at settling him in and making us sense welcome. He consistently comes home with stories of all the enjoyable things he has been up to. The team have gone above and beyond to make everything sense secure during the pandemic without the kids missing out on enjoyable activities. The outdoor space is terrific, and the activities he gets up to seem really tailored to his hobbies and interests. There is excellent updates with home too – it’s excellent to know we are ‘singing from the same hymn sheet’ so to speak when dealing with issues like potty training and compassionate hands. We adore The Old School Childcare centre!

Our daughter left the childcare centre for school 2.5-years ago after, one son is in his final months with the childcare centre before starting school, and our youngest has just started, so we have had the full journey of the childcare centre from babies through to pre-school and never before have I met such a fantastic team of people, that create the most incredible place for kids to learn, playtime, adore, grow and understand more about themselves.

Consistently met with a smile, the childcare centre gets to know your kid as an individual; they know everything they need to know about them and keep parents fully informed and updated. Leaving our youngest kid was extremely hard as he had been very poorly as a baby, however, I knew there was no safer place, and this team spent time ensuring they knew everything they needed – they went above and beyond and he has absolutely flourished.

Never can we thank you all enough for everything you do. Thank you. A simply incredible place!

My son has been going since he was 10 months old (he is now nearly 2) and he absolutely loves it. The team are remarkable and attentive, I look forward to receiving his daily reports about activities and what he has eaten. They have given me so many ideas for meals at home as it all sounds delicious! With baby number two on the way there is no way I will be sending them anywhere other than The Old School Childcare centre. Thank you so much to the team, you are all fab! I can honestly say that The Old School Childcare centre (Shapwick) is such a remarkable place.

Even though I have worked in a childcare centre myself, my first-time mum nerves took over, and I was worried about how my little boy would settle after spending the majority of his life in lockdown. He has done amazingly well, and is even sleeping there, which is something I never thought would happen due to only sleeping at home! Within just one week of starting, he was sleeping there, eating everything and feels cheerful to go with any member of team. This is all due to the attentive nature of all the team, and the setting is inviting and engaging! I adore seeing the observations on the app of all the enjoyable he gets up to, and my little one does not stop chatting and babbling when we get in the car to go home! In these tricky times, the team have managed to create normality for my kid, and I can’t thank them enough. My 11-month-old started here this year, and he has settled amazingly.

Excellent team. Cheerful kids. The team at The Old School Childcare centre are exceptional. They really know their stuff. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. The care they take and the bonds they build are exceptional. My son has very cheerful memories of his time there and my daughter thoroughly loves going. There has never been a time when my kids have not wanted to go. There have been several times when they haven’t wanted to leave as they were having such a great time. My son left in August to go to school. He was very well prepared by the pre-school team. He was well socialised, confident and cheerful. My daughter has been in all 3 rooms over the last couple of years. All the team have been incredible. I cannot speak highly enough of them. The pandemic inevitably caused them some issues which they dealt with brilliantly ensuring the kids received the best possible care. My wife and I have been incredibly cheerful we chose the childcare centre for our kids. Excellent place.

The care and adore they show our kids astounds me, our kids both loved/adore attending and I delight in catching up with the fantastic and dedicated team whenever I can. The team and management take such pride in their childcare centre it is fantastic to see and I adore seeing my little ones develop. Our youngest is facing some development challenges which the team have truly embraced in order to assist both her and us as parents – I will be forever grateful to them for their tremendous efforts. This review has been posted now but relates to the outstanding care provided to our eldest daughter (now at primary school) and our youngest (still at Old School) over the last three years.

After a house move, our 3-year-old daughter recently changed pre-school and started at The Old School. The change in her was instant and incredible to see. She has consistently been pretty shy and would consistently cry in the morning, asking to stay home which has been very upsetting for us as parents. Since starting at the Old School, she’s been nothing but cheerful to go and has made so many new friends in a very short amount of time. From the first day, the team have been nothing but attentive and going above and beyond to make her sense welcome and make sure that she could explore her interests (as well as trying new things). The food is healthy and lovely and they have catered to her vegetarian diet straight away. The activities are incredible and so thoughtful. We sense that the team are really taking the time to know her and make her sense special. We couldn’t be happier knowing she’s cheerful where she is. A fantastic and special place for little ones.
