Tops Day Nurseries: Bretonside Nursery

I have been attending this nursery for over seven years with three of my children. I have so many positive things to say. There are always helpful, caring and putting the children first. They always contact you with any issues so you’re always first to know.
My daughter is currently attending the nursery and she loves it, she’s always asking to go nursery and play with all her friends and the staff. She loved it when they did yoga and when they sing songs and dance and she even loves to learn everything else via the educational curriculum they teach (colours, numbers, etc.) She’s always full of beans when she leaves nursery, always a happy smile on her face and that’s what it is all about.
Highly recommended nursery, it’s the best start to a brighter future.

The staff is absolutely amazing, they look after the children so well. Couldn’t find a better nursery for my child. Definitely will recommend this nursery to others.

Ever since starting Tops Day Nurseries: Bretonside Nursery my daughter has come so far in development. She has made so many friends and is always excited about coming in.

The staff gave my lactose-intolerant son a cup of milk. Both kids have food diaries as one has an allergy, the other rarely seems to eat their food or has just been given fruit on occasions. Food diary either updated late evening or we don’t get one at all. Brought this up with several staff members with no improvement. Allowed someone to collect them without a password. Luckily it was their grandparent but could have been anyone! Kids seem to enjoy the setting but a lot of other things need looking at especially important ones like allergies!

The staff are extremely helpful and I feel completely comfortable leaving my son in their care. In particular, our key worker has been an asset to the Bretonside team. She has given a great deal of support around my son’s development and I feel like we can discuss anything around this topic without judgement. I am very pleased to have found this nursery for my 1-year-old.

My daughter has been attending Tops, Bretonside since January and absolutely love it. The nursery has a lovely, warm, inviting feel which is ultimately why we picked it. All the staff are dedicated and attentive to the children and my daughter is thriving since starting. Her keyworker updates us daily on how she’s been and what she has eaten, which has made my transition back to work run smoothly. Overall, the nursery and staff are beyond amazing and we thank you for all the hard work.

After viewing many nursery options around Plymouth for my daughter, Tops Bretonside was definitely my top choice and I’m so thankful that we secured a placement. My daughter has been enrolled since March 2022 and has flourished. Her speech, mannerisms and everyday tasks have improved drastically. Even though I was providing all these teachings for her at home, she has thrived in the nursery setting. All meals are provided to her which is such a lifesaver for me not having to prepare school lunches. At 2.5 years of age – she is already fully using the toilet, this is largely thanks to the time and effort put in by her room managers during toilet training. I love the daily updates and observations provided on the app for parents. As we can’t access the nursery due to safeguarding/ covid/ hygiene – it’s great that we can still be involved on the app. My daughter’s teachers and all other teachers I have been in contact with, are super friendly.

My child has been in Tops Day Nurseries: Bretonside Nursery since October 2022. In this time, staff have been absolutely amazing in supporting my child physically, emotionally and educationally, they have supported us as a family, assisting with information and signposting for support in areas needed not only for my child but for us all. Staff have been understanding, empathetic and fantastically patient when I have called for support and talked through strategies and ideas to help with day to say living.

Good nursery close to the city centre. Very helpful staff all the time and we had prompt replies from management on our queries. After a bumpy start, our child now loves the place and we can see that he thrives in that environment. We are looking forward to increasing our hours once our working pattern is finalised.

Every day when my daughter comes back home she is really happy and excited about things that she did during the day, so I feel that she is having a good time in the nursery and that makes me happy as well.
