September 10, 2024 at 2:15 amIn this time, team have been absolutely incredible in supporting my kid physically, emotionally and educationally, they have supported us as a family, assisting with information and signposting for assistance in areas needed not only for my kid but for us all. Team have been understanding, empathetic and fantastically patient when I have called for assistance and talked through strategies and ideas to help with day to say living. My kid has been in Tops Day Nurseries: Bretonside Childcare centre since October 2022.

October 27, 2024 at 12:25 amMy daughter has been enrolled since March 2022 and has flourished. Her speech, mannerisms and everyday tasks have improved drastically. Even though I was providing all these teachings for her at home, she has thrived in the childcare centre setting. All meals are provided to her which is such a lifesaver for me not having to prepare school lunches. At 2.5 years of age – she is already fully using the toilet, this is largely thanks to the time and effort put in by her room managers during toilet training. I adore the daily updates and observations provided on the app for parents. As we can’t access the childcare centre due to safeguarding/ covid/ hygiene – it’s excellent that we can still be involved on the app. My daughter’s educators and all other educators I have been in contact with, are super welcoming. After viewing many childcare centre options around Plymouth for my daughter, Tops Bretonside was definitely my top choice and I’m so thankful that we secured a placement.

November 1, 2024 at 11:33 amHe has a favourite who since day 1, has been incredible and supportive with the transition to childcare centre. Everyday is a inviting welcome at the door with a full briefing in the afternoon. Nothing seems too much for these ladies. The care my son receives is second to none, accommodating his needs and the slow introduction to childcare centre. The whole staffing team has been incredible with my son and I honestly am so grateful to each and every one. Especially my son’s favourite person who has gone above and beyond to help my little boy settle in. My son enjoys every day he is with the ladies at Tops day childcare centre.

All the team are remarkable with my daughter and consistently update me or her dad with anything she does. She has made lots of friends and enjoys seeing the team and talking to them. The team are all welcoming and will talk to you about how she has been and what she has been doing.
My kid enjoys coming to childcare centre, he gets excited when we are on our way. He is well looked after and gets along with most team. They respect my wishes as a parent and I fully trust them with my kids. I also have a son in babies and he consistently holds his arms out for team to get him as soon as we arrive. Since joining the Childcare centre my daughter has developed in so many ways.

She has given a excellent deal of assistance around my son’s development and I sense like we can discuss anything around this topic without judgement. I am very pleased to have found this childcare centre for my 1-year-old. The team are extremely supportive and I sense completely comfortable leaving my son in their care.

January 4, 2025 at 5:25 pmMy baby has been attending for around 9 months. I was very nervous about her being so young but circumstances meant it was necessary. She is now 15 months and is full time at the childcare centre. The team take the time needed to get to know her and me. I consistently find them very respectful of my values and requests as well as being really flexible. I am extremely confident in the care they provide and that her well being is consistently their priority. They share information about the day and the activities and it is excellent to see the variety of things that they do that are both educational and enjoyable. It feels like a genuine partnership between parent and key worker, working together to meet her needs. My baby absolutely loves attending and despite being born in lockdown, she is thriving emotionally, socially, and developmentally. I do not doubt that the childcare centre plays a big role in this. Tops Bretonside was the first childcare centre I viewed and after viewing others, I couldn’t enrol in Tops quickly enough!

After a bumpy start, our kid now loves the place and we can see that he thrives in that setting. We are looking forward to increasing our hours once our working pattern is finalised. Great childcare centre close to the city centre.

All the team are dedicated and attentive to the kids and my daughter is thriving since starting. Her keyworker updates us daily on how she’s been and what she has eaten, which has made my transition back to work run smoothly. Overall, the childcare centre and team are beyond incredible and we thank you for all the hard work. My daughter has been attending Tops, Bretonside since January and absolutely adore it.

There has also been a massive change in her behaviour and I can tell that she has learnt to socialise nicely with others. Tops have been an incredible childcare centre for my daughter to attend.

May 29, 2025 at 6:10 amI have so many positive things to say. There are consistently supportive, attentive and putting the kids first. They consistently contact you with any issues so you’re consistently first to know.
My daughter is currently attending the childcare centre and she loves it, she’s consistently asking to go childcare centre and playtime with all her friends and the team. She loved it when they did yoga and when they sing songs and dance and she even loves to learn everything else via the educational curriculum they teach (colours, numbers, etc.) She’s consistently full of beans when she leaves childcare centre, consistently a cheerful smile on her face and that’s what it is all about.
Highly recommended childcare centre, it’s the best start to a brighter future. I have been attending this childcare centre for over seven years with three of my kids.

June 2, 2025 at 12:37 amBoth kids have food diaries as one has an allergy, the other rarely seems to eat their food or has just been given fruit on occasions. Food diary either updated late evening or we don’t get one at all. Brought this up with several team members with no improvement. Allowed someone to collect them without a password. Luckily it was their grandparent but could have been anyone! Kids seem to delight in the setting but a lot of other things need looking at especially important ones like allergies! The team gave my lactose-intolerant son a cup of milk.
