Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school

Despite the challenging conditions they have been working under our daughter is thriving. My daughter has been attending this fantastic childcare centre for over a year and a half and we couldn’t sense more secure and confident about the care she is given.

He is nearly 3 and I was highly anxious about him starting a new preschool – however, my journey has been outstanding at Ashington. The manager and her team have gone above and beyond to reassure us as parents and settle my son so he feels comfortable quickly. Within one day he was so so cheerful and hasn’t stopped talking about his new childcare centre. They have been fantastic and supported and cared for him so well on his transition in such a short space of time. I am so grateful to them – they are all incredible. My son recently started at preschool here after his current childcare centre closing unexpectedly.

The team are fantastic, attentive and the setting provides a real home from home setting. My son joined during lockdown where a normal ‘settling in’ wasn’t possible but the team made sure he settled in well and he’s never had a day of not wanting to go! My son has come on in leaps and bounds in all areas and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice to send him to Ashington Kids’s Childcare centre. My son has attended Ashington Kids’s Childcare centre for over a year now and he loves going every day.

The team are so inviting, welcoming, and attentive that we consistently sense exceptionally cheerful when we leave our daughter for the day and confident that she will have the best day developing her skills. She in fact loves it so much that she barely looks at us as we drop her off – she wants to be in the room playing as quickly as possible! The food that the on-site chef prepares is varied and healthy. We receive daily updates on what our daughter has eaten during the day and how much, which is excellent. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with Ashington Day Childcare centre and we should say a special thank you to our daughter’s key worker who takes such great care of our daughter, giving us detailed updates on her day. Our daughter absolutely adores her and we know she is in highly secure hands. My daughter has been attending Ashington Day Childcare centre in the baby room since January 2022 and absolutely loves it.

Frequent changes of team with lack of interest in the kids. Poor feedback about what they’d done or eaten. 4 photos of my kid in 2 years, no Christmas decorations, Mother’s Day cards, etc or work brought home. Things that were asked to be worked on weren’t such as ensuring my kid visited the toilet and writing. Graduation was a last-minute thing that many couldn’t make as they had already left or were on holiday. The final day went without any sort of send-off or recognition of it being the last day which was sad for me.
I would have removed my kid but they were cheerful and nearly going to school so didn’t want to upset things. My kid has recently left Ashington childcare centre which progressively went downhill since the beginning of the year.

All the team are incredible, and the childcare centre has an outstanding discovering setting along with a remarkable outdoor area to playtime and learn. My daughter has been here a couple of years now and absolutely loves it.

He settled in incredible and absolutely loves going every week. He has some incredible people looking after him and can tell he has made bonds with them. He has come on leaps and bounds since joining the childcare centre. We sense highly confident with the team looking after him at the childcare centre and they are consistently highly supportive and tell us how he went after every session. We will be sending our second kid to Ashington childcare centre next year as well. We have been sending our son to Ashington childcare centre since November last year.

The way the childcare centre is set out, the activities enabling positive development, the free playtime, use of Makaton, updates on development observations and healthy nutrition are why we chose this childcare centre and are highly cheerful with the service that is provided.
The team are able to communicate positively, accurately and openly on my daughters days at the childcare centre which reassures me she is in the best care, whilst we work. All team that I have met, have been inviting and welcoming and my daughter enjoys being with them.
My daughter’s personality has truly emerged since starting and I can see the positive difference in her social skills and active discovering.
All in all, a well run, positive, cheerful setting where you kids will flourish. Highly suggest. The manager and her team at Ashington Childcare centre are incredible.

My son joined the preschool room in December after a turbulent closure at his previous childcare centre. It’s consistently been a struggle getting my son to go to childcare centre as he struggles with separating from me and usually once he’s in, he has a excellent day, but the change I’ve seen in him here at Ashington Day Childcare centre & Pre-school is incredible! Now, he gets excited about going in, runs in, in the morning, hangs up his coat on the peg, and says goodbye! The team have consistently been so reassuring and I now leave him feeling cheerful he’s going to have the best day! His self‑assurance, vocabulary, and skills have noticeably improved too. Overall, couldn’t be happier and would like to also mention the incredible chef who has set the standards highly high for us at home! Super impressed with the childcare centre!

It truly is a home from home. My sons adore coming here and the care truly is outstanding. There is so much thought and detail that goes into all the activities that they do with the kids. All of the team seems so compassionate, patient and put the kids’s development first whilst having so much enjoyable! The food is also exceptional (so I am told). Thanks again. We are so impressed by this childcare centre.
