Sandfield Day Nursery (Oxford)

My son has been with this nursery for many months, and the development of his confidence is remarkable. He has been in two rooms and has flourished in both, particularly the development of his communication skills.
The activities he takes part in are extremely well thought out in terms of allowing him to be creative and to express himself, something he brings home with him all the time, and I have seen first hand the attention the staff give him and the freedom they give him to explore and learn.
We receive updates on his activities through the app, and the quality and detail provided are exceptional. We feel like we’ve shared in some of his activities through these updates, and it’s hard to overstate how much we value these.
I cannot thank the staff at Sandfield enough for their patience, support, great humour and the focus they give to my son’s development.

Our daughter has been in Sandfield day nursery for 4-years, and we have always been very pleased with the care she has been receiving over that time at every stage. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for her, and we were so lucky to be there. The staff is engaged, warm and caring, and they know all the kids so well!

We have been thrilled with Sandfield Nursery for our one-year-old daughter. The staff were enormously kind and supportive during the settling-in period and have got to know her really well. Communication is excellent, and we always get a thorough handover at the end of the day about how she has been. It’s made my return to work so much better knowing she’s in safe and loving hands. Her key worker has shown genuine delight and pride in her when she has hit new milestones like standing, walking and saying her first words, and it is very clear that my daughter adores her.

I have nothing but excellent comments for this nursery. My son attended here from the age of 1 until pre-school, and I had no hesitation in sending my daughter here. She started at the age of 9 months and has just turned two. My children’s development has been exceptional whilst attending Sandfield. The team picked up an eye condition my son devolved at the age of one, and we’re excellent with his ongoing eye care and patching.
The team at Sandfield are familiar and friendly faces who are always welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
My daughter loves going to nursery as there is always lots going on, and she loves the team; my son still likes to go in and visit everyone at pick-up time.

Our daughter started in Sandfields in the midst of the Covid pandemic. The nursery went above and beyond in making sure the children were safe and in a happy environment throughout the pandemic. The communication we received was excellent. Our daughter has a wonderful relationship with all the staff. She has also made strong friendship bonds with her peers. All the staff are caring, supportive and nurturing. They give cuddles (which our daughter loves) and genuinely take interest in all of the children. We feel happy with all the love and care our daughter has received. She is now a confident young girl, who is ready to go to reception! – and we have the nursery to thank for this! Highly recommend Sandfields. Thank you for being part of our journey, and our daughter will always remember her time in Sandfields fondly.

The Sandfield team has been super with our little boy. I don’t think we could have asked for a better nursery, and all the staff are simply amazing. We miss them dearly.
The staff really put the effort in to get to know your child and are always there to help out. Our son has been extremely happy throughout his stay at Sandfield, and we have been most impressed at how the nursery adjusted over the Covid pandemic. Great staff and a lovely and nurturing environment.

We love, love, love this nursery! Both our children have gone here (five years old now in Reception at Primary School), and the three-year-old is still here. I can’t speak highly enough about all the staff, absolutely every member of them is so lovely, so caring, so thoughtful with the children. It is like sending them to a family member, rather than a nursery. The food is healthy and always prepared with the childrens nutrition at the heart of it (with the odd biscuit here or there!), down to Birthday cakes on their birthdays. They honestly are the best – very gutted they don’t do after-school club for our 5-year-old or he would be there in a heartbeat! Love, love, love this nursery.

What a special place Sandfield is. We have been with Sandfield since 2018, with our second daughter starting just before Christmas. The team there is what makes this place what it is; a warm, nurturing environment that allows the children to grow socially, emotionally and academically. From the manager to the practitioners and supporting staff, they all play a key role in ensuring the children get the best possible deal. The nursery is a logistical nightmare for us to get to, but we have made that sacrifice because we have not been able to find a nursery that comes even close to what we get at Sandfield. The space the children have inside and out is brilliant, the activities that are provided are fun and stimulating, the food is excellent, and the care they provide is nothing short of amazing. In our four years there, we have never had a single thing to complain about. I would 100% recommend this nursery.

We love having our daughter at Sandfield. She is happy to go there in the morning and happy when we pick her up again. The staff are super friendly, always good at welcoming her and us in the morning and also informing us on how her day has been. The space is lovely, colourful and bright, with lots of great play areas – and often new themes, decorations and toys to attract the kid’s attention and learning new stuff. We couldn’t think of a better place for our daughter to be.

Sandfield Day Nursery is an excellent nursery and is very well run in all aspects.
The staff that work there are all friendly and helpful, from the ladies doing the admin side to the key workers and support workers, kitchen staff to the cleaning team who come in at the end of the day. Every single member always greets myself and my daughter with a smile and a cheery hello, even if they do not directly look after my daughter.
The room staff are brilliant at keeping the children entertained, and the activities they come up with are always fun and engaging. The development I have seen in my daughter since starting it is incredible. The food is excellent and always gets demolished by my daughter, which is a great sign!
I can not recommend Sandfields highly enough – thank you for all your hard work.
