YMCA Nursery Newport

The rooms are separated into each age group, bumblebees, ladybirds and grasshoppers. My daughter has loved each one. The team are incredible and are consistently there to offer assistance when needed. I was really worried about my kid starting due to postnatal depression, and they were cheerful for me to ring up as many times a day as I liked until I settled into the routine too.
Mine is now in grasshoppers; she has made some excellent friends and looks forward to going each day. They have outstanding outdoor space and go on little outings to the duck pond and around the grounds, which is one of the reasons I also really like it. Just wish I’d found out about this childcare centre for my other kids as my youngest daughter definitely gets more from this setting than my others did at the one I used with them. The value for money is also excellent, and you are advised at the cheapest option for your needs and can include lunches or not. Discount for NHS team too! My daughter has been going here since she was 1.

She absolutely loves attending and is consistently cheerful to go and misses it when she doesn’t. The facilities are excellent; the outdoors space is exceptional and my daughter spends most her time out there if she can. The team are attentive and approachable. My daughter struggles with speech and is under speech and language and the team supports her and give her 1-1 time to help and encourage her. My daughter attends YMCA Newport and has gone since around 2 years old.

The team provide so many excellent opportunities for the kids and themes are well planned across the different rooms. The outside space is well used, much to my boys’ delight and the kids even go on forest walks, to the duck pond, and to see emergency vehicles to name a few. The manager and her team are exceptional and we have a really great relationship with them all. We adore seeing photos of what the boys get up to on the ParentZone app, and updates is great between childcare centre and home. Both my boys attend YMCA and they absolutely adore it!

When my daughter had her settling in sessions, I was extremely nervous due to COVID and her not mixing with many people. The team soon reassured me, and my daughter blossomed.
I’m so pleased I picked this childcare centre from day one, and if I have any more kids in the future, I will be sure to send them here.

He loves coming to childcare centre, which is certainly credit to the really enjoyable, attentive and well trained team and all the exciting activities the kids get up to every day. My son is thriving so much, coming home with newly learnt words pretty much every day. From a parent point of view, I like that the setting is still a size where we know pretty much all of the team and they know us/my son. Everyone is very supportive and the team leaders, office team and childcare centre manager are consistently approachable. You can really tell that everyone has the kids’ best interests and their development at heart. Highly recommended!!! My son started childcare centre at six months old, he is now two and a half and has thus been in both the Bumblebees and Ladybirds groups.

He really enjoyed his time at the childcare centre and all the team really helped his self‑assurance grow, so he was ready to start school. He really enjoyed the outdoor area where he spent most of his time throughout the summer. My son attended the childcare centre from the baby room all through to preschool.

The team are remarkable, approachable and updates is very open with every member of team we have had contact with. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed the activities provided regularly, along with the special themed events; even the normal day to day aspects are enjoyable, educational and incorporate all the kids’s needs. The garden space is plentiful and I’m consistently jealous of their ‘campfire’ sessions! On an administrative side of things, any query I have had has been resolved quickly, professionally and personally. We will be sad to no longer need their services later this year. Both my kids have attended YMCA Newport childcare centre and we are extremely cheerful with the care they provide.

The team are all so supportive, and my son has a great relationship with all of them. They do a great range of activities and lots of outside time, which my little one really enjoys. Updates is consistently really great, and nothing is too much trouble. They made going back to work a lot easier. My son started childcare centre at 8-months (in 2018) and absolutely loves it.

The team are second to none and are incredible. The outside space they have is something that confirmed this was the place for my little girl to gain the skills and self‑assurance to have lots of messy playtime. I adore how cheerful my little one is being here. My little girl has loved being part of the YMCA family and is consistently so excited to go to see her friends.

My son joined when he had only just turned 1 and I was immediately impressed by how well the childcare centre was kept in addition to the calm and attentive energy of the team before even enrolling my son and was quick to put in my application. The childcare centre has exceeded my already high expectation of it for the last 2 years, successfully helping my ‘can’t let go of mummy’ baby blossom into a social, resilient, compassionate and independent little boy. They went above and beyond when my son was recovering from temporary brain damage to help with reintroducing him back into the childcare centre setting and constantly helping with advised physio along the way. They have successfully helped aid in any safeguarding concerns I had related to home life, inevitable behavioural bumps that needed ironing, potty training, removal of dummy. You name it they supported you. They’ve been excellent at updates throughout his childcare centre journey. Cannot suggest enough. I have nothing but great things to say about this childcare centre.
