Kingsmead Day Nursery Ltd

We could not be more pleased with our experience at Kingsmead Day Nursery. Our son has been there for a year and a half, starting at just 6 months old. They were so kind about letting me come often to settle him in before his actual start date and have taken such wonderful care of him since then. He loves it there. We wish somehow we could pick up Kingsmead and move it with us back to the States!

Our older daughter has just transitioned to ‘big school’ after four wonderful years at Kingsmead. Kingsmead has provided her with so many unique and wonderful experiences from day one – painting using her feet wrapped in bubble wrap (as a baby); an outing on the bus to buy baking ingredients (She recalls this every time the number one bus goes past); toasting marshmallows and hot dogs on the fire pit; regular musical theatre and forest school sessions, the list goes on. The nursery also puts on a very sweet Christmas nativity and lovely Mothers Day and Fathers Day events. There is really nothing to fault – the facilities are bright & clean with a recently upgraded garden and the staff are so invested in the kids, and many of the kids move together to the ‘big school’ next door to continue their friendships. We can’t recommend Kingsmead highly enough as a first step on your child’s learning journey and we are so glad we have another daughter who has just started hers at Kingsmead.

Both of our children loved their time at Kingsmead in Winchester, prior to progressing to their prep school. We loved the outdoor space and all of the activities that the nursery organised including the amazing Christmas concert. The staff were all fantastic, it was a real family atmosphere which put them at ease and has really set the children on their way. The location was perfect with easy parking in the centre of the city for drop off and collection. We are so grateful for the time and effort that the nursery put into our children during their time there. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a day nursery.

We have two children at Kingsmead Day Nursery in Winchester, one baby and one pre-schooler. We have been very impressed with the care both children receive during their time at Kingsmead. The staff are very caring and are excellent about communicating with us. Kingsmead provides many different age-appropriate activities for the children; their garden is excellent. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a nursery to care for their child/children to give strong consideration to Kingsmead.

My daughter really loves being at Kingsmead Day Nursery. She enjoys the activities and is very stimulated by her time there. The staff are really switched on and know each child very well. The pre-school unit seems a bit cramped but the baby unit is very spacious. The garden is really lovely and well-appointed. My daughter has been at Kingsmead since she was 6 months old and has always loved it.

After a move from the states, our son finished up pre-school at Kingsmead Day Nursery in August 2021. He was warmly welcomed into the Kingsmead Day Nursery community and loved the fun activities he participated in (arts and crafts, dance, sports, baking etc). He was well prepared by the fantastic staff to start year R. Our daughter then started in the baby unit in August 2021 and based on her excitement when we drop her off, loves it. We have been very impressed by the creativity that goes into the planning at Kingsmead Day Nursery, even for the littlest ones (trips to the park, painting for earth day, baking etc.). The staff is super attentive and have taken the time to get to know her – they even know her favourite song – “row row row your boat”. The garden is awesome and well maintained and the kids go out quite often. The communication is great and we get updates through blossom (+pictures) which has been super helpful. Overall, we absolutely love the staff and the nursery!
