Acorn Day Nursery (Mulberry Bear)

The reading/music room in Squirrels room is a fantastic space – it’s currently themed as The Gruffalo and the theme gets changed with different books. The kids are encouraged to spend as much time outside as possible and the permanent slide is a winner with my daughter! The inside space is split into ages but the free flow playtime between areas is fantastic. The numerous settle sessions that were offered were incredible and truly helped my daughter (and myself!) with the transition from our original nursery. We have only been a part of the nursery for a short while – but I’m looking forward to seeing how my daughter flourishes. We recently moved our daughter to Mulberry Bear from another nursery after the recommendation from the Acorn Nursery at Kents Hill. The outside space is truly my favourite area of the nursery.

I’ve been a parent at Mulberry Bear for a long time, my daughter, now 7 was a content pre-schooler there, and now my son who’s 3 years old goes there. We recently changed from another seemingly ‘prestigious’ nursery locally where my son was so unhappy, and the team was admittedly not skilled for SEND. They have a big outdoor space which is used throughout the year. In contrast, when changing to Acorn Mulberry Bear, we noticed a massive change in my son’s behaviour, he’s now a content youngster who feels appreciated and cared for and his development needs are being addressed in a way that is suited to his special needs. The team is such as family, the feeling I get is that they truly caregiving about the kids. I have experience from a youngster with typical needs to a youngster with special needs, my son, who has Autistic traits, is currently being supported there.

My eldest son attended here and now my youngest is here. We had to send our kids to another nursery for a while and this experience made me massively appreciate just how delightful Mulberry Bear is. The activities they do are varied, the numbers are not too big so they can make connections with other kids and the team. The app is fantastic. My son enjoys going to nursery which allows me to go to work and not worry about him. Sometimes they go on walks around the campus. The outside space is delightful. They both adore this nursery. The team are incredible.

The indoor areas have lots of large windows letting in natural light which gives the place a extremely inviting appearance. The app (which is used to provide updates on the daily activities) is updated extremely regularly (almost instantly) so we know exactly how and what she is doing. Yesterday when I went to pick up my daughter she was playing in the garden and when she saw me instead of walking straight into my arms she had walked away to continue playing which was extremely positive feedback on how well she had settled in. We had moved our daughter from another nursery and she has just joined last week. The nursery has a extremely large outdoor area and the kids seem to be encouraged (by both planned and spontaneous activities) to spend a lot of time outdoors. They had made her extremely welcome. So far, a extremely excellent experience and it has definitely met our expectations. Acorn nurseries had been recommended to us by several friends and we were excited to hear about the new Acorn nursery.

They create a content setting for my son, he loves going in every day which gives me huge peace of mind. Fantastic nursery all the team are fantastic and engaging. He’s been at the nursery since he was 6 months old and I’ve never had an issue. They make parents feel involved by keeping them updated on the app and inviting the to playtime and stay sessions. I adore how varied his days can be from outdoor walks to messy playtime, baking cakes and creating cards as well as the normal youngster playtime times. I honestly couldn’t rate this nursery elevated enough.

Couldn’t highly recommend enough. My son and I absolutely adore Acorn Day Nursery (Mulberry Bear) and all of the team here. He has settled into his new class so well and I am so pleased with the setting and how they are with all of the kids.

I would totally highly recommend this nursery. My son has special educational needs and I will be always thankful to them for alerting us to these. My daughter attends this nursery. They adapted their practices for my son and were extremely knowledgeable in this area. My son also attended for 4 years. The team are kind, compassionate and nurturing and genuinely caregiving for the kids under their caregiving. I have found this nursery to be everything that I would hope for in a preschool.

My youngster comes home‑like content and nutritious. Accessible and communicative team- extremely supportive and engaging setting for our three-year-old. Lots of books, arts and crafts- particularly adore the outdoor area and forest centre. The use of the app has been delightful- with pictures and other information being communicated to us truly well.
