May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amWe loved Dickie Birds and were sad to take our daughter out of here when we moved away, the staff are lovely and it was clear our daughter was excited to go there each day. My only feedback would be that the settling in process wasn’t handled well and that communication to start was a bit patchy, but after one honest conversation with the team this was rectified very quickly and as I say, the end experience was great. Would strongly recommend sending a child here to any prospective parents.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amA fantastic nursery, great facilities, friendly staff, excellent communication between management and parents and just an all-round pleasant experience to use them. Freshly cooked meals and daily updates on our son’s activities, what he ate, and what he enjoyed. Cannot fault.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amA very well-run nursery. Great staff and facility. Compared to our new nursery, we feel the food offering at Dicky Birds is far superior, with two hot meals offered. We will miss the staff and nursery friends our daughter made during her time at Dicky Birds.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amOur experience with Dicky Birds has been great since we’ve joined. Our daughter was 2 years old, the settling in process was very respectful and the staff were really open and flexible to accommodate our request for a few extra days when we realised they were necessary to make the process smoother. Our daughter loves the staff and her classmates and always comes back home happy and telling us all sort of stories! She particularly enjoys playing in their beautiful garden. The staff are loving and caring and we can see how our daughter likes them all. Their approach counts with a good balance between free time and guided activities, and our daughter’s development during this past year was clear. The community of parents is also great and we enjoy some playdates over the weekend. I love Dicky Birds open and honest communication through the daily reports but also through the weekly newsletter (which I look forward to every Friday!). I couldn’t recommend Dicky Birds enough.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amThe level of care at Dicky Birds Queens Road is outstanding – they are diligent, committed and full of warmth for the children. Our little one loves her family there and makes excellent progress. The management are attentive and knowledgeable about the children and their families and specific needs.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amWe’ve been super happy with our sons’ time at Queens Road. The staff in both their rooms have been brilliant, friendly, attentive, and professional. Both of our sons have enjoyed their time and grown throughout.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Dicky Birds Queens Road for three years – he has been well looked after and cared for. He enjoys the activities, the food and has made good friends. I am very pleased with how the nursery is run, we receive daily handovers and management is in frequent contact with us on my son’s progress. The refurbishment has made a difference as there is more outdoor and indoor space for the children to play.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amOur two children have had several years at Dicky Birds Queens Road between them and have both really enjoyed the experience, it’s been great for their development and ability to make friends. The staff have been consistently strong and built a good relationship with the children, despite the inevitable turnover over the years. Expansion into the neighbouring building takes Dicky Birds Queens Road to another level in terms of space and facilities for the children, so we would certainly recommend it to others.

May 28, 2021 at 12:00 amMy daughter spent 3 years at Dicky Birds Queens Road and my son started attending last September. This is a lovely, welcoming, caring, thoughtful and creative nursery with attentive and affectionate staff. For me, the best measure of the high standards of this nursery has been that whenever I have had any concerns/questions they have been quickly and thoroughly dealt with. Their response to the Covid pandemic from the start has been clear towards the parents and very containing towards the children. The fact that my children loved nursery made it easy for me to feel the same!

August 20, 2021 at 12:00 amThe settling in period wasn’t managed very well by the key person. However, the way the management team handled our concerns was outstanding. We felt they were really listening, providing details of our child’s day and what the team is doing to resolve any issues we had. The staff in the room were so caring and always told us with so much excitement about our daughter’s day and what she achieved. The love and care for our daughter felt genuine. She was always happy to go to nursery.

March 27, 2023 at 12:00 amI, alongside many other parents as of late, made the decision to pull my son out of Dicky Birds Queen’s Road in November 2022. This is a big chain of a nursery where profits come above care – rooms are at capacity and staff numbers are filled with agency workers with whom children cannot form any attachment to. Management is weak, parents are given the bare minimum in terms of feedback, the settling-in period for us (Sep 22) was completely chaotic, with no system in place to support new parents. Complaints to head office and to the area manager were not addressed properly – there are so many issues with this nursery and I believe now, after Ofsted intervention, they are finally taking some action having ignored so many parents before now. My child is now at another local nursery, small and privately owned and absolutely thriving, a stark contrast to his time here. I feel my family were utterly let down by Dicky Birds and would advise all parents to avoid this setting at all costs.
