This nursery is a cut above the rest. I moved my son to this nursery earlier this year and he has absolutely flourished. He loves going and can’t stop talking about all the things he has learned. The staff are friendly and engaging but most of all they care.
Children are children here. They play outside and learn through being active and exploring the great outdoors. This is what young children are meant to be doing! Thank you to all the staff.

Fantastic staff who are always full of energy and enthusiasm. Kids are constantly kept entertained, safe and interested in the world around them. I am astounded each week by the progress my daughter has made and all the little things she picks up. The environment is small and cosy but with great grounds for the kids to explore. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My son loves going to the Butterfly Patch. It is a great place and the staff are all wonderful. My son has developed in so many ways and he looks forward to going to nursery every morning. The staff are warm and caring but also professional. I would definitely recommend the nursery to other parents.

We are extremely happy with the Forest Nursery, we love the concept of trying to keep our son outside as much as possible but most importantly he loves it too and has greatly developed his skills. The constant string of ideas is admirable and the staff enthusiasm at the nursery is infectious. Have already suggested to all our friends and would still recommend it to anyone.

The nursery provides wonderful activities for all children. They learn through structured activities and allow the children a say in what they do.
The staff work very hard and show great enthusiasm in their work.

The Butterfly Patch Forest School at Morden Park has literally changed our lives, my daughter has been going there for about nine months now and absolutely loves it. The staff are incredible, always going above and beyond to make her feel welcome, loved and included. The activities they do every day are well planned and executed, she often comes home covered in mud with a huge smile on her face about how they hunted for bugs, built a den, jumped off logs into huge puddles and looked after the chickens. It’s always a challenge picking her up as she never wants to go home, that’s a great feeling.

Our son has been attending here since September 2019. I cannot speak highly enough of the nursery. It is the antithesis of the other nurseries we looked at where children are stuck in a room with other children their own age all day. Instead, the children mix with each other, regardless of age, in a lovely space which lets them roam free. But the real joy of this nursery is the time the children get to spend outside. I love seeing the updates of my son exploring Morden Park and getting muddy! The staff are wonderful. The nursery is small so they can take the time to get to know each child’s needs. They are always smiling and enthusiastic and bring real fun to the nursery. My son absolutely loves it there and even though it takes me half an hour to drive there it is so worth it. I hate the idea of my child stuck in a room playing with the same old toys. At the Butterfly Patch, his creative play can run wild and so can he!

We are huge fans of the nursery. Our son has been attending since June 2020, and it is so wonderful that they get to explore the outdoors almost every day, sometimes twice a day. They do everything from sliding down mud hills, splashing in the stream and building/watching outdoor fires (both obviously closely supervised) to indoor painting, messy play and singing songs. We have been thrilled at how active it is and to see how much our son loves it and benefits from social interaction. We also love that they use the app, so we get photos of what they are up to in the week, and the staff are genuinely lovely and always reply to our posts and give us anecdotes about our son. They use outside caterers, so the quality of the food is great, which was also important to us. They don’t have a separate sleep room, which was my only concern at first, but I needn’t have worried – the kids soon settle in and naps went back to their normal 1.5/2hr duration fairly quickly.

The nursery manager is a genius. The whole operation runs so smoothly and all the children are given enormous amounts of attention. We love how much time they spend outside, getting used to the outdoors with a seemingly endless and imaginative list of activities. All of this is reported to the parents in great detail using an app and we feel we know what our child is doing each day. They seem to be happy to cater to any dietary requirements and our picky son seems to love the food, they tell us on the app exactly what and how much he ate. Three months in and he now runs to the door whenever I say “do you want to go to nursery?”. They also genuinely care about his development, they flagged up several milestones that he wasn’t hitting and heavily encouraged us to solve them, with helpful suggestions. We also love how warm they are and how much time they seem to have to cuddle the children that need it and they have chickens!

My daughter has been attending The Butterfly Patch Morden Park Forest School and Nursery for the last three months and we have been so impressed. The staff are friendly, professional and very good at updating us on her day. The Forest School activities have been interesting and varied. We have recommended the nursery to everyone we know. A big thank you to the manager and her hardworking team!

Couldn’t be happier! We have seen so much progress made by our daughter since joining The Butterfly Patch Morden Park Forest School and Nursery six months ago. Initially she was shy and reserved but it didn’t take long before she couldn’t wait to go each morning. She has made so many friends in a short space of time, even during the pandemic and clearly has made good friendships with the staff there. The nursery staff are really accommodating and professional while remaining relaxed and understanding of individual parents attitudes and priorities. The communication has been greatly improved since moving to the new app, where we get regular updates and photos on what she is doing, how she is interacting with others and photos of her outdoor and indoor activities. The nursery is not large but has so many activities to keep the children learning and intrigued and it’s great to see the workers teaching the children about nature, recycling and respect at such a formative age. They have also handled care in the pandemic well.

Our son loves the nursery, they spend most of the time outdoors and have amazing activities. The creativity of the staff knows no boundaries, and we love how they encourage the children to explore nature. Next to the usual reading, numbers, singing and craft play, they learn lots about nature and develop a strong bond with their teachers. The food is healthy and delicious, our son rarely doesn’t finish, more likely he asks for more. And during the pandemic, they managed all procedures and communications excellently. I would highly recommend it to any family with outdoorsy kids!

Our child has thrived at the Butterfly Patch – the whole team are amazing. They really do care so much about the kids and they have helped support us too! I love it when my child comes home after nursery to tell me all about the adventures that she and her friends have had – it’s the highlight of my day!

My daughter absolutely thrives at the Butterfly Patch. She’s grown into a very curious, adventurous, social little girl with a great vocabulary and amazing motor skills with their help and care. The staff are fantastic and especially the forest school teachers, whose passion for outdoor learning is phenomenal – the children get to play outdoors and learn about nature, while climbing, digging, discovering wildlife, carrying/transporting, painting and sculpting, splashing in rivers, climbing trees, building dens, along with dozens of other activities – we’re very lucky to have the benefit of their skills and knowledge.

Our son has been going to the Butterfly Patch since he was 6 months old. The staff have been amazing and he settled quickly and nicely. The constantly active lifestyle, need to go outside and curiosity to explore are contributing to turning him into a gentle, nature-loving boy who has amazing climbing skills! The carers do an amazing job of integrating aspects of learning in child-led play and our boy is thriving and making so much progress on fine and gross motor skills, language and social skills. The extended hours are a big plus as we’re both working parents and we’ve been able to take advantage of some amazing offers to add in extra days when needed. Management runs smoothly. We feel able to speak about our child’s needs (dropping dummy, increasing naps, etc) and the staff will go above and beyond to help out. We highly recommend the nursery to anyone who listens!

My little one joined the nursery in Spring 2021, as a 1-year-old pandemic baby. Settling in took some adjustment, but the staff were so caring not only to him but to us as parents too. Constant regular contact, and clear happiness to listen to any concerns or questions we had, as well as make changes to help our son adjust, meant that we felt really comfortable during this disruptive period. He quickly became used to nursery life and it was clear that the affection between him and the staff members went both ways, with him obviously feeling very safe in their presence. This was especially useful as forest school introduces children to such new experiences, which take some getting used to. The team expose the children to fantastic adventures, making use of the streams, trees, woodland, wildlife, and other aspects of nature all available to them in the park. Now a proper toddler, our little boy has flourished in walking, talking, and exploring, all thanks to The Butterfly Patch.

As a Forest School nursery, the children experience a wide range of outdoor led activities as well as the usual indoor sticking, painting, model making type stuff you would expect. The daily Forest School activities have really increased my child’s confidence but also their ability to understand boundaries and stay safe in potentially dangerous situations – near rivers or in high places. My child has learnt to approach the top of the stairs on their knees and looks over the edge laying on their belly to guard against potential falls, for example. The Forest School activities will advance with them as they grow and will stay with them as valuable life skills.

Our daughter has been at the Butterfly Patch in Morden for 1.5 years now and she loves it. The staff are friendly and well trained. The forest school aspect of the nursery is why we chose it in the first place. The forest school staff encourage children to explore and interact with the world around them. This has developed her social and inquisitive nature. The regular updates on the app throughout the day allow parents to rest assured that their little one is safe and well. We are really pleased we chose the Butterfly Patch, Morden.

Amazing staff and nursery. Our son is really settled after just a few months. They take the kids out each day – including the babies – and do things we wouldn’t normally do helping them to develop and be creative. Friendly and attentive staff and excellent communication

The staff are very kind and caring. My daughter loves going to nursery. We have no tears or problems at drop off. The activities are varied and she enjoys them. They go out into the forest regularly. She learns so much while she is there.
