January 7, 2016 at 12:00 amBoth my children attend Fennies and it has been a very positive experience for our family. The staff are exceptional – they go above and beyond to ensure that the children are happy and well cared for. The staff know my children and their personalities very well and will often do unexpected things to make sure they are both happy. My children’s speech, social skills, mathematical understanding and confidence have flourished at Fennies. They have a lot of outdoor time in the fantastic garden play area and have over the years learned to care for plants and the nursery pets (a turtle and a goldfish) as well as respect for nature and living things.
The Fennies staff are all very committed to the nursery – this is clear when they host events such as their summer fair, bonfire night trip, Christmas / holiday play etc. Their events are always incredibly well thought out and meticulously run and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy being there. The Beech House manager and deputy have create an atmosphere of mutual cooperation with the parents, they run a parent forum which I have found extremely valuable. As a management team they have worked very hard and you can see this in the fact that the staff turnover rate is now very low (it had previously been high).
What I most value about Fennies is without question the staff. I have noticed that every staff member (whether they work in my children’s room or not) knows who my children are and is on good terms with them. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Fennies.

January 8, 2016 at 12:00 amBoth of my daughters have gone to Fennies Beech House and we have been really happy with how they have been cared for and how they have developed from babies through to pre-schoolers. It is a small happy nursery, where all of the staff and children interact well together, regardless of what room they are in. As with all nurseries, the people who work there are the most important thing of all. There have been changes throughout our time with the nursery, as to be expected, and while it has been hard to say goodbye there have always been fantastic people who have come in and taken on new roles. The nursery is modern, clean and has a lovely outside area and garden and it’s easy to park for dropping off and picking up. We have been happy to be at Beech House over the past 7 years and will be sad to say goodbye when my daughter goes to school in September.

February 22, 2016 at 12:00 amOverall we are happy. The staff are fantastic although the nursery has, last year, suffered from a shocking staff turnover. I’m a bit disappointed that neither my son or my daughter has done a single day trip to the farm etc. One was scheduled and then got postponed (that was over 6 months ago!) So, in conclusion, we have been happy with the nursery and would recommend. The staff really are fab.

February 4, 2019 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Fennies in Sanderstead since last summer and is very happy there. He loves all the staff and is very well cared for. It’s great that the children spend time in the garden each day and are encouraged to try lots of new activities.

April 23, 2021 at 12:00 amWe have had a really positive experience with Fennies Sanderstead and the team there. My daughter started nursery in August 2020 at twelve months old and I had some anxiety around it given that this was off the back of the pandemic and she hadn’t had a great deal of interaction with other babies and toddlers. The team have been so warm and friendly to my daughter, she has settled really well and has lots of fun when she attends. She has really enjoyed interacting with the other babies and loves the activities set out for her and her peers. I find it really heart warming seeing the pictures and commentary on what she has been up to at nursery and its so cute when she brings home ‘art’ and crafts she has worked on. Her development has really come on since she has been attending, she understands the importance of sharing and I know that she enjoys the routine. She has a very healthy appetite and always enjoys her meals.

April 23, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Fennies Sanderstead for the last two and a half years and we are very happy with the level of care provided. Dropping him in everyday we know he is going to be looked after and this gives us peace of mind. The nursery has great all round learning with different activities.

April 23, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been attending Fennies Sanderstead for a year. His development, intellectually and emotion in the caring environment that they provide has been amazing. He is very happy at the nursery and is excited to walk in each morning.

April 23, 2021 at 12:00 amWe are extremely happy with Beech House and the way they have looked after and supported our son who joined in October. Joining a new nursery during the pandemic hasn’t been easy but the nursery staff have been really helpful in settling my son into the nursery and encouraging him in all aspects of his development. We can see that he has grown a lot in confidence since joining and loves seeing all his friends and particularly enjoys the fun activities of learning languages and P.E! The team are fantastic and I would highly recommend Beech House to new parents.

April 23, 2021 at 12:00 amVery happy with Fennies in Sanderstead. My daughter has been attending since 2019 and she absolutely loves it. The staff here take great interest in setting up different age appropriate activities and regularly share pictures and updates with parents. The nursery was recently renovated and it has a functional and beautiful garden. Also, the staff are lovely and always make time for a quick chat. It’s a fun, safe and friendly environment. Highly recommend it!

April 27, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Fennies Sanderstead since December 2020 and he loves every minute!
Being a lockdown baby I was really concerned about separation anxiety but the team at Fennies Sanderstead made him feel so comfortable and totally engaged in everything, he just waves me off in the mornings and has done for some time now. The updates on the online app are great and I thoroughly enjoy looking at photos of what he has got up to in the day, along with the care diary of what he’s eaten and how long he’s slept. The team in the baby room are amazing and all get involved with my son’s development, I love them all and the management are equally as fabulous. I am so happy that I chose Fennies Sanderstead.

April 28, 2021 at 12:00 amMy wife and I are delighted with the progress our son has made, during his time spent at Fennies Sanderstead and we owe it all to the hard work and dedication of the team there. They are all extremely friendly, caring and professional and we would recommend them unequivocally. It has been a challenging twelve months for everyone but during this time the team have maintained impeccably high standards, whilst being vigilant to any potential outbreaks of Covid-19 and we count ourselves lucky that all things considered, it has not been too disruptive for our son. We are delighted to see but not surprised, that the hard work of the team is being acknowledged and congratulations to them all!

April 30, 2021 at 12:00 amOur son has been attending Fennies since December 2019 and has been happy there since day 1. The staff looking after him are friendly, caring and professional, and we have always felt confident in the care he receives. He is provided with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities specific to his age and interests which has helped his speech development and social skills greatly. The management is communicative and has done an amazing job keeping things as normal as possible for the children during this difficult year. We would definitely recommend Fennies for anyone looking for childcare.

May 3, 2021 at 12:00 amWe joined the baby group when there were six children. Without any real communication, my son was moved upstairs to a new room with three times the number. The room was not finished. There was no communication about building works and I feel very strongly that the economics of the building works were prioritised over genuine safety for the children. I was so concerned by the general attitude towards my concerns that I removed him from the nursery. I would just add the teaching staff are great.

May 10, 2021 at 12:00 amMy son has been at Fennies Sanderstead for almost three years now and we’re so happy with it. He loves going in and is always well cared for. The staff are brilliant and there are so many activities daily to keep him engaged and developing, from lessons like PE, French and Spanish, to creative tasks like planting flowers, messy play, writing and number games. The management team are friendly and always open to listening to feedback and new ideas.

January 24, 2023 at 12:00 amMy daughter was here for roughly 5-6 months and she did not settle at all. I had a number of problems with the nursery and felt like I was constantly having to micro-manage her care. Numerous issues with her being given the right meals and milk in line with their own procedures and it felt like no one really cared about my child. During her time there she was very anxious and untrusting of people inside and outside of the nursery, and we did not realise how much the nursery had affected her till we moved her to another nursery. She immediately settled at the other nursery and the quality of the staffing is incomparable. She became a new person and was finally happy, her behaviour towards people changed completely and it makes me realise that Fennies was just not a happy place for her at all.
I really think it is a poor value for money nursery too, given all the issues I had I couldn’t believe they were one of the most expensive local nurseries. The building is nice, that’s all.
