March 18, 2025 at 9:25 pmBoth my sons have gone over the last 4 years (now 6 and 4 years old). The ethos and approach to education is nurturing and inspiring.
I couldn’t adore it more. Both my boys adore it and can’t wait to go to school each day. A total gem. This is the most fantastic childcare centre.

April 7, 2025 at 12:34 amHe adores the educators whom are compassionate, gentle, calm and expert.
The educators encourage the kids to be curious and confident, and over the course of their time at the childcare centre you see their characters grow and flourish in many ways.
The setting has a warm and welcoming community sense. It is very creative and the kids’s inspirations comes from the natural setting where the free flow classroom opens out into a magical garden and a creative studio where singing, creative express and arts takes place.
My son has spent most of his time in the enchanting garden in his wellies, playing with mud, water, paint and whatever exciting activity that are introduced. He has had the opportunity to learn through playtime indoors and outdoors – a truly magical pre-school journey. My son has been at Woodentots for 2 years and he loves going every day.

June 1, 2025 at 2:37 amThe educators are fantastic, calm and attentive and inspire the kids to discover their natural setting. There is a beautiful, mature garden which the kids use whenever they want. They can choose to put on their wellies and plant seeds, playtime in the mud pit or read/paint outside all morning.
For a central London childcare centre, this is one of the greatest gifts. It is Montessori (ie Child led) but not in a rigid way which makes things more relaxed. Once a week the educators take a group of kids to Highgate Woods so they can have a forest school journey and my sons have enjoyed this enormously. There is an emphasis on respect and kindness and the kids really do relate to each other in a attentive way. It is a hive of creativity- clay, paint, woodwork, felting, beading, the list goes on! And lots of opportunity for music and dance. I can’t suggest it highly enough as a place to begin your discovering journey. Woodentots is one of the happiest places in the world!

June 16, 2025 at 9:50 amEarthy, warm, compassionate, gentle educators. The principle is inspiring and loves the kids. Can’t suggest it highly enough. My son has spent 2 very cheerful years there and I’ve made friends for life. The garden and classroom and art studio are delightful settings. I felt my son was in very secure and nurturing hands there. Montessori teaching of the highest quality. All natural materials. A excellent emphasis on looking after our planet and being compassionate. The bi-monthly forest school trips were also a excellent success and a superb way to get urban kids more deeply into nature. My son and I both loved our 2 years as part of the Woodentots community. I just adore this school.

July 9, 2025 at 9:18 amThe art studio, garden and integration of the forest school ethos makes this a unique school in London.
They encourage the kid to be curious and confident and it has a warm and welcoming community sense. Woodentots is an extremely creative, nurturing and inspired setting for kids to learn and grow.
Our daughter felt comfortable there the moment she entered the space and she has flourished since she has attended.
