Children 1st @ Birstall

Our daughter has been at Children’s 1st (Birstall) Day Nursery for three years. From the first day in the baby room to now in early years, we have always felt she’s in safe hands and comes home happy.
We can see growth and learning each week. The teachers are polite, approachable and provide updates as necessary via the app or at the end of day.
The management are great particularly when it comes to questions all parents would have, reminders and updates. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who has a little one!

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year now. She is constantly learning and developing which I can see from her language, emotional and physical behaviour when she returns from nursery days. Regularly she surprises me with her vocabulary and I ask my husband if he has taught her that new word to which he says no. I know that this is down to the great teaching of the nursery staff!
I know she is in safe hands at Children’s 1st Day Nursery. There is a wide variety of activities indoors and outdoors. The food menu is diverse and nutritious. Location is great. I would highly recommend this nursery.

An absolute brilliant nursery. They are warm, welcoming and always have the children’s best interest at heart. They treat all children as individuals and are especially patient with Senco kids. They helped arrange additional funding for my little boy to take him through to primary school. The setting itself is modern and clean. Lovely outdoor space and nice, fresh food served.

Lovely, caring staff. My son has settled in very well at nursery from the beginning, even when transitioning between the different rooms. My son enjoys going to nursery which makes it easier for me as a parent knowing he is having a good time there. The nursery also carries out many different activities providing the kids with an opportunity to do many different things. The food provided at the nursery is also varied allowing my son to try different foods. So far I have had a good experience with the nursery and would recommend it to other parents.

My daughter loves Children 1st @ Birstall branch, from her key workers to the cleaner, and managers, everyone is just so lovely and my daughter looks forward to going in every day. She constantly surprises me with things she has learnt and having been going there since she was 1, and now in her final year before starting school, I know sending her here has improved her confidence, writing, social skills and love of learning and has made her ready for school, I can’t thank the nursery enough. Saying goodbye in the summer will break my daughters heart but her experiences and memories there I know will stay with her and us for a very long time

My two-and-a-half-year-old daughter has been going here since she was age one and I love this nursery and the staff are brilliant. Whenever there is an issue the management team always get it resolved. The staff are friendly and my daughter is very happy. The facilities are clean and my daughter is learning a lot and has developed so much. The staff give her cuddles and the standards are high. I also love the app to check up on her. The outside space is lovely too. The staff and the management team make it what it is.

From the very first meeting, I felt completely comfortable leaving my child in the care of this nursery.
All the staff and so friendly and helpful and take excellent care of my child and his dietary requirements.
My child is very settled and loves coming to nursery.

The staff at Children 1st @ Birstall are extremely nurturing and have a really close bond with both of my children that attend the nursery. My daughter, who is in the early years, is always playing nursery at home and pretends to be the staff that support her daily! They are true positive role models for her. I know that my children are well looked after and that means so much when they spend so much time there! All staff know them by name and take time to talk to them when they see us in the corridor or climbing the stairs! A wonderful team! Thank you for all you do!

We are really happy with Children 1st at Birstall. My daughter started in the baby room at 11 months and is now just about to ‘graduate’ to go to school in September. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the children have lots of interesting activities to do and high quality toys. The facilities are really good with a nice outdoor space. The management team are also visible, friendly and helpful. Genuinely recommended.

My child has been attending Children 1st @ Birstall for three years now and, on the whole, I have been really happy with the care and development opportunities undertaken with him. The topic letters provide a clear focus in terms of what is being taught in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and tables in the early years room are always set up with fun, educational learning activities. My child really enjoys attending the nursery; he has a good rapport with the staff (including the cleaner and cook), he engages with the activities and enjoys most of the food. The menu offers a good variety. The outside area is really lovely, particularly for early years. You also have the option to pay for extracurricular activities such as football, which I have taken advantage of this year.
When it comes to assessment and reporting, however, I have found the next steps to be a little vague – essentially they could apply to any child.
