He has loved his time at Fairthorne, and I have loved being able to leave him at such a fantastic childcare centre. He spends time outside playing pretty much every day, comes home filthy and tired (clearly the signs of a great day!) every day and is very well looked after by the fab team at the childcare centre. The food is great, the grounds are incredible, the team are lovely and engaging, what more could you want for your little ones? My son has been attending this childcare centre since he was 8 and a half months old and he is now just getting ready to leave for school.

I have been so delighted with how my daughter has settled in and she loves the team so much. They’re all so welcoming and obviously care about the kids. She is consistently outside and doing enjoyable things and loves going. This childcare centre is absolutely fabulous and I can’t suggest it enough.

My youngest has recently started, and it was clear from the first day that although it was a new setting, he felt secure and cared for. The trees, walks, campfires with melted marshmallows and outdoor playtime areas make this setting a fantastic place to send little ones, and I have to say, they did more online discovering for the kids in the first lockdown than my eldest sons junior school did. Outstanding preschool! Honestly, the best team and preschool, really compassionate and welcoming, and my little one who has just gone to school really grew in spirit and discovering there; he was also speech delayed, and they helped him develop this and greatly improve.

She struck a real bond with her key workers and all of the other team members and I know she felt confident and secure in their care. She took a little while to settle in when she first started but once she had she was consistently really excited to go in the morning. I especially like the fact they take them on lots of walks and have lots for them to do in the gardens. They also regularly interact with different animals. I would highly suggest to anyone with adventurous kids. The team are really welcoming and approachable and are very supportive of the parents’ wishes. My daughter has recently left the childcare centre but she had an incredible time there.

Many other nurseries rarely take kids on trips so the fact that there are lots of grounds for them to explore is exceptional! The transition from the toddler room to the preschool room was very supportive, the key worker going with my son for his visits, plus they share the garden anyway so that eased the transition. The team are incredible, so supportive consistently make sure they give a handover, very attentive. Team are consistently approachable. They are consistently occupied with activities with the kids too and it never seems hectic even though it is a very big preschool. My son is discovering so much, he was talking in the bath about things that sink and things that float today and he said he’d learnt it at ‘school’. Exceptional, keep up the great work guys! We adore this childcare centre, exceptional activities for kids they can explore the grounds on daily walks safely without the worry of cars!

I adore that kids are allowed outside as often as possible, and encouraged to interact with the setting. The carers and workers all seem cheerful and to genuinely delight in their job. My kid is cheerful to go to childcare centre and cheerful at pick-up, and I know he is well cared-for at Fairthorne. Fairthorne is such a excellent childcare centre for our kid!

Having progressed through all three of the rooms, we can confidently say that every team member we’ve ever had contact with, has been supportive and enthusiastic in helping us to develop our daughter into the compassionate, confident and independent little lady she is today. She looks forward to attending the childcare centre to see her friends and loves being able to have adventures outside, whatever the weather. She’s learned to walk and talk here and when we noticed she had a slight speech issue, at age three, the childcare centre contacted a speech therapist to work with us all to help correct these issues, before she started school. This has now all but been corrected over just a few months, despite being in the middle of a pandemic. The facilities available on the grounds are exceptional, and our daughter has enjoyed sailing on a boat in the river, zip-lining and using the bouncy pillow, amongst other excellent activities. Our daughter has been with the childcare centre since she turned ten-months-old and she is now just about to turn four.

From the very first viewing, he was made to sense very welcome and has since grown to adore his 2/3 times a week full-day sessions. The Childcare centre benefits from a stellar location with the emphasis on getting fully involved with the outdoor settings, whether it be the huge open green spaces, woodland or river. The team are truly exceptional and we sense so cheerful to be leaving him in their very capable care. I find they consistently remember the little things that are going on, both with him and us, which adds to that personal touch. He consistently comes home in a bubbly, cheerful mood which says it all – and its fair to say we have noticed him making big developmental strides over the past year. We would have no concerns with recommending the Childcare centre to anyone and look forward to our son’s development over the next few months. Our 2-year-old son currently attends YMCA Fairthorne Manor and it’s fair to say he loves it.

The large grounds provide a variety of outdoor discovering opportunities. Rain or shine they are out and about making the most of it. It consistently brings a smile to my face when I find out what they have been up to, particularly when the possibilities include boat trips, zip wires, playing on the bouncy pillow or sitting around a campfire!!

I have consistently found the team to be welcoming and attentive, providing a relaxed and engaging atmosphere but with the appropriate measures in place to keep the kids secure. Having had my kids attend Fairthorne over last 7 years it has become a bit of a second home…. even when we are not at childcare centre, we are at the Fairthorne based events!

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Fairthorne to others, it is fantastic and I will no doubt shed a tear when my youngest leaves for school next year, will miss it. Fairthorne is an incredible childcare centre and I am so cheerful that my sons have had the opportunity to be looked after in such a unique childcare centre setting.

The choice to send my son here was the best decision I’ve ever made! Every member of team has gone above and beyond to assistance my son and me in many situations and on a daily basis. My son has some extra needs and the childcare centre team could not be more accommodating, they deeply care for him and he feels secure there. He loves to be there and has built such strong relationships! The development in his abilities since he started has absolutely soared and his self‑assurance now is incredible! My son started in September 2017 and after 2 years shall be finishing in July this year, we will be very sad to say goodbye as he starts his next adventure in school but we will be forever grateful to this childcare centre and all the fantastic team for giving him the best start possible! A friend recommended this childcare centre to me and well I couldn’t be more grateful.

Not just key workers but all the team take a real interest in each kid and are supportive. Kindness seems to be a real priority.

The grounds and outside facilities are incredible. Acres of open space, woodland, the Hamble, stream dipping etc.

It is such a lovely place, the way the kids interact with each other is lovely and speaks volumes. I adore the glimpses I get when I drop off or pick up and on the open days.

I just cannot suggest it highly enough! Fairthorne Manor is a fantastic place which I really do believe has given my little girl the best possible start.

The team are all incredible, attentive and engaging.

Taking in and looking after my daughter straight after her coming out of her Spica cast from DDH. She has developed so much being with the team and the other kids and even started taking her first steps, now running around. Everyone from the admin, management and ladies in the room do an incredible job. I can’t thank them enough, my daughter loves this childcare centre. Thank you. This childcare centre is exceptional and so supportive.

I adore hearing their stories of the adventures they have on a daily basis including toasting marshmallows on the campfire, pond dipping, boat trips and bouncing on the bouncy pillow! My girls have learnt so much about themselves in the time spent at Fairthorne and grow in self‑assurance every day. It is a unique and special childcare centre and I would encourage everyone to send their kids there.
Sadly my eldest is due to start school in September and I know just how much she will miss her friends and the team there. My youngest regularly tells me her best friend is her key worker and they have such a special bond. The team really adore and care for each individual kid and it’s excellent to be a part of the Fairthorne family. Both of my daughters attend Fairthorne Manor and they have the most incredible time within the setting.

My only regret is that I did not send her to Fairthorne earlier. Thank you all so much you all do such a remarkable job. My daughter was very nervous when starting in Foxes but she loves her days there, her comment of “I can’t wait to go to bed so I can go to Foxes in the morning” made me realise she is in the right place.

The long walks, messy playtime, baking, stories and camp fires are just some of the enjoyable daily activities. I personally cannot suggest this childcare centre enough. If you want your kid to come home cheerful and smiling then this is where they need to go! An incredible childcare centre with dedicated team who genuinely care for the kids and make discovering enjoyable.

He’s seven months and not sitting independently so needs a lot of assistance.
I am so impressed by the team at Fairthorne, his first day was pretty traumatic for me and I was updated with his development throughout the day. I felt comfortable immediately and haven’t worried since! The handovers have been outstanding, the team are consistently cheerful and welcoming and it’s clear my son has settled in well and enjoys his days with them.
Thank you for making this transition so easy and keep being outstanding! My son has just completed his second week at Fairthorne.

We have had two kids go to Fairthorne, the youngest from Rabbits Room to Foxes. It’s just an incredible place for a kid to develop and be a kid. We adore the space and the activities – but the best thing is the ethos and attentive nature of all the team. A excellent place for a little person to develop and thrive. Incredible.

The team are excellent, very inviting and welcoming, and the surroundings make for a excellent discovering journey.

My son is growing in self‑assurance every day and that is down to all the lovely people who look after him at Fairthorne Manor. We are very cheerful with the set up of the childcare centre, the outdoor space is incredible and one of the main features of the childcare centre that persuaded us to send our son to Fairthorne Manor.

During the Covid pandemic, the childcare centre has been exceptional in the way that it has continued to run, keeping the setting as ‘normal’ as possible for the kids and keeping them entertained, educated and most importantly, running around and playing in the huge outdoor spaces around the childcare centre site. My daughter loves going to Foxes every week – she has thrived and the team really take their time to get to know every kid there; everyone is so welcoming and energetic; how they do that with tens of kids in their care every day, I have no idea. My son is 8 now and still has so many fond memories of being a Fox. Fairthorne gives the kids such a excellent start in life. I’m really going to miss it when school time arrives in September. My daughter currently attends Foxes (the pre-school room within the childcare centre).

The outdoor space is incredible and the kids get to take part in lots of excellent outdoor activities, including boating on the river – plus lots of campfires and marshmallows. As keyworkers, I can’t put into words how incredible the team have been this year – it has been overwhelming – their kindness and dedication to the kids’s wellbeing – especially during the uncertainty of the first lockdown. The food is excellent – our daughter eats better than us (pulled pork tacos anyone?) and Fairthorne Manor is incredible value compared to other locations. Our youngest will be going to school this September and it will be sad for us that she is leaving – but she and her sister will be back for the incredible Daycamps in the holidays. Thank you so very much, Team Purple. YMCA Childcare centre Fairthorne Manor is just remarkable and an journey that can’t be matched elsewhere.
