Tiddlers Day Nursery

A wonderful place, with a lovely warm, friendly home from home atmosphere. My children experienced many activities and made many friends, building a wonderful bond with their key worker and became confident learners.

We cannot recommend Tiddlers enough. We looked at several options after our childminder retired, and Tiddlers was by far the most welcoming environment in the area. They have a large outdoor space including a sheltered area which the children are encouraged to use all day, even in the winter afternoons when it is dark, my husband arrived to find our son and his friends playing with torches outside! (with the supervision of course). They follow our son’s interests and plan activities for him. The staff are welcoming and like a family – I know they really care for the children, especially a recent recruit who is on the leadership team. He treats my son like he’s his own. Our son never complains when leaving me so I know he must be having fun all day. Any problems, the staff are always keen for our son to be happy and well in the setting. They tell me what he’s eaten every day. We used washable nappies and wipes, and this was never a problem for the staff.

The care that is given to my child is faultless, my youngest child goes to Tiddlers Day Nursery and they made me feel comfortable from the moment she began. The location and set up is absolutely beautiful, the natural and open-ended play and take on learning and development is something very important to me as a parent. Not only do I feel comforted that my child is being cared for, the staff are eager to feedback on the learning and engagement that my child is experiencing. Would definitely recommend!

My son absolutely loves Tiddlers! He walks in with a smile in the mornings, and the staff are all so kind and attentive. They work closely with me and my husband to make sure that we are all helping my son meet his development goals. Staff are approachable if there are ever any concerns and they help to find the best solution for everyone. I could not ask for a better group of people to care for my little one.

When looking for a nursery to put my 15 month old little boy in, I was recommended Tiddlers Day Nursery by a number of friends who had previously and currently use for their children. As soon as I went for a look around, I completely understood why it has such a good reputation. I was made to feel welcome by all of the friendly staff and at ease when leaving my little boy for his first settling-in session. He has been there 6 months now and has progressed a huge amount. The app the nursery use is a great way to keep parents updated and I really like how we can put pictures and updates on of what our child’s interests at home are. Highly recommend Tiddlers, Alfreton!

I have two boys who have both attended Tiddlers Day Nursery. My youngest boy is still there and loves his time there! The staff are all super friendly and smiley, and my little boy runs in each morning to go and find his friends without looking back.
The nursery has been through a difficult period with the nursery being closed for a short time, things are back on track now, and the nursery has a lovely new manager who is happy to help with all queries/requests. I can’t fault the nursery or staff at all!

I have two children at this nursery, with my eldest starting in January 2020 and my youngest starting in February 2023.
They have continued to support both of my children to their utmost! My sons love going to this nursery!
There have been many changes in management while we have been there and I can hand on heart say the current manager has stepped into that role with her heart first. It’s so amazing that my eldest comes home talking about her, knowing she is so involved with the children as a manager.
The staff who work in the rooms are incredible and go above and beyond to make the experience educational but exciting.
There have been occasions when we have needed last-minute childcare and everything has been done to help us!
It saddens me that my eldest leaves in August for school; but they have given him so many skills to achieve the world and more!
I’m just glad we get to do it all over again with baby number two!

Lovely nursery, great facilities and staff. They have really helped me out recently with extra childcare due to family illness. It’s great that I don’t have to pack nappies, wipes and snacks as they are all provided in the price.

My two girls love it here at Tiddlers Day Nursery, my youngest is in the baby room and has settled in so quickly and my older daughter is in the preschool room, she has been attending since she was one and will be leaving in August.
All the staff are great and their positivity, passion and drive make the nursery an amazing place to be. It’s lovely that my eldest child comes home and talks to me excitedly about all the things she has been doing and mentioning staff members’ names, singing songs etc.
There have been a few different managers since All About Children took over the nursery a few years ago and the current manager is really enthusiastic and dedicated to the success of the nursery and this shows immensely.
Special thank you to all the staff who really are the heart and soul of Tiddlers, without their hard work it wouldn’t be what it is today – a wonderful place for my children and others to learn and grow.

I cannot sing the praises of the caregivers more, they are amazing and we love the setting. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about management and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn other parents, as I do not believe mine was an isolated incident. Since being taken over by All About Children, I have had no end of problems relating to invoices and payments. I would advise any parents using the nursery to go through their invoices with a fine-toothed comb, as I was overcharged for over 6 months, all the while being chased for money that I did not owe. Had I not been vigilant and pressed for an investigation, this would not have been discovered. The whole experience has been awful from the start, I have never received any form of apology or explanation from those involved higher up the chain, and am still receiving incorrect invoices. I will never again use a nursery owned by All About Children, which is an awful shame as the staff on the ground could not be better.

My son has attended Tiddlers Day Nursery since he was 12 months old and is now almost 4. I have seen so much development as he has moved through the different age groups, and staff have gone above and beyond at times to follow through with bringing favourite activities from home into activities at nursery to support consistency and familiarity. I am always impressed by his varied vocabulary, and consistently witness staff modelling kindness and respect for others, which he is now able to display himself both at nursery and at other settings. Tiddlers also has an amazing garden area so if you have an active child the outdoor space is fantastic.
