The Nursery School Charlwood

My eldest went to Charlwood House Day Nursery and thoroughly enjoyed it. My youngest daughter has been there since November and has settled in extremely well. The staff are all lovely and I love that they have lots of open outdoor space for the children to enjoy fresh air.

I can’t recommend Charlwood House Day Nursery enough.
After viewing the nursery and it’s grounds I immediately knew it was the right place for my son. The bond the staff have with the children is fantastic. Every staff member is brilliant, and they are so accommodating. Really flexible with add on days or changing days if needed.
The nursery has been amazing for my son’s development and he has come on leaps and bounds since being there.
What I really like the most is the fact it’s an independent nursery and you can tell that. It feels personal and non-corporate which to me is a winner. My son had previously gone to a big chain nursery and it felt very cold. The best thing I did moving him here.

My daughter has been going to Charlwood for a year now and loves it! She started when she was 8 months old in Bumblebees and they were so amazing looking after her. Now she is in Caterpillars class and is growing in independence. She loves the outdoor space and a wide range of activities. They continue to care for her and ensure she is happy at nursery.

This nursery is outstanding. I wish my son had gone here it’s amazing. My daughter skips into nursery every single day. The staff are amazing. So personable and super friendly. They really have got to know my little girl and formed a great friendship and bond. She adores her key workers. The manager and the whole team and been incredibly supportive and accommodating with my constant change of times and days. They have always been able to accommodate us. The facilities are superb and the outdoor space is a huge asset. Their flexibility is second to none and I have recommended them to all my friends who are looking for nursery placements.

The staff here are so invested in the children and each of their needs it really is so heartwarming to see.
With my son, although not yet settled as he hasn’t been attending for very long, the staff do everything they can to make the transition as easy as possible. The door is always opened with a smile and the child is greeted by name.
My son had his first afternoon where he was really happy and the staff were so excited to tell us when we arrived. Just to see the shared happiness showed us we’ve chosen the right placement for him.
They encourage you to call to check in on how they are if you’re anxious and have really gone above and beyond with everything they do, offering to buy a CD that calmed him!
We recently had a family funeral and the nursery were so supportive and allowed us to not feel rushed into coming back to nursery afterwards with a strict deadline of pickup time.
Charlwood House is in a beautiful setting with large outside play areas that the children adore.

The nursery is like a home from home for my son, who is very attached to me. He loves doing circle time and enjoying the amazing outside space. His nursery teachers are great, and he really looks forward to seeing them. I would recommend this nursery to everyone looking for childcare. He is very happy here.

All three of my children have attended this wonderful nursery, as soon as we walked through the doors for the first time we instantly knew it was the right choice. So much care and time was taken to get to know us as a family and our oldest and youngest children have all flourished at Charlwood House. Although saddened to leave when it was time for each of them to start school, they were so ready having developed such confidence and all the skills needed to embark on this next chapter. All of our children loved spending time in the outdoors and exploring the extensive grounds making up games with their friends. They would run in so happy every day making it much easier to leave them to go on to work. If you are looking for a nursery that is like an extension of your own family then I would 100% recommend Charlwood House.

My little girl started Charlwood back in January. First time going to nursery and we had a constant battle getting her to go most days she would be in tears all morning before having to go in the afternoon, from the minute she woke, she constantly said no nursery today. The week before lockdown in March, we cracked this, and she went in happy without crying, then lockdown happened, she was off for 6-7 months before returning in September. We were so worried about her returning as we thought we would be back to square one again, but this was not the case, we now have a newly transformed child, who runs into nursery waving us goodbye and when we pick her up she loves telling us about her day and what she has done. We could not have done this without the amazing staff at Charlwood. They have been our absolute rocks with settling her and we cannot thank them enough for all they have done. Even during the lockdown, they sent our daughter videos, which I think really encouraged her to remember them.

My son has been attending Charlwood House Day Nursery since September 2020. The staff have been amazing. Whilst my working pattern has been constantly changing due to furlough over the past few months, the manager has been really flexible and understanding with short notice changes to his attendance.
Since returning in January, my son has been happy and smiling at drop off and when I collect him. He eats really well, and the staff in Bumblebees have been helpful with his recent change in routine which helps us out at home.
I can happily recommend the nursery for anyone wishing their child to be looked after in a home away from home setting.

I can also recommend their holiday club which my daughter has attended and thoroughly enjoys.

Our daughter started Charlwood House Day Nursery in January 2020 and has transitioned so well. It’s always daunting leaving your child with ‘strangers’ as she was only just 1 when she started. She eased in really well though, and even did so after lockdown when she returned in August 2020. She loves her key workers and has learnt their names. The activities that they do at the nursery are so good for her development, and are things that most parents don’t have time for at home so I love that she gets to do more there. She’s come on leaps and bounds and loves going there, and she even gets excited in the car!
If I’ve ever had an issue, the nursery are there to answer any questions and support as much as they can. The staff are all lovely and so understanding. I cannot wait for our second to join also!
