Springfield Infant School and Nursery

My son is just about to graduate from Ducklings at Springfield Nursery and wow, what a lovely, fun time it is been!
The staff are all absolutely wonderful and have made the transition from nursery to reception super smooth and easy for my anxious child. The communication has been fantastic, and seeing my son thrive trying out different activities has been lovely.
The nursery setting for learning and play is great. Beautiful large outdoor areas with climbing apparatus and shady trees and inside, colourful classrooms where the children can free flow.
The staff have made my sons time at Springfield Nursery so positive and uplifting that he is excited and intrigued to start reception after the summer!

Springfield is great.
My son joined Springfield last year and he loves it. As a parent, it is very important to be informed of the progress of my child on a regular basis. At Springfield, I get informed by e-mail/phone of all the activities and progress.
The benefits are, It is super clean, loads of activities and plenty of space. These guys care.

Great little nursery that gave my August-born son the head start and extra confidence he needed to start school! Highly recommend it to anyone thinking of sending their little ones to the school. They keep to the school’s routine and take part in activities with the reception children so the nursery is fully involved with the school experience. Has the added bonus of being able to teach phonics as it is part of the school (most nurseries are discouraged from teaching very basic phonics as different schools teach phonics differently so it can be confusing). Communication is great! They use an app, which is updated daily, and there are parent’s evenings as well as usual opportunities at drop off and pick up. My son is in reception now, and the transition was seamless, and he already had so many friends. The teachers already knew him too, which was an added bonus. Sending my son here was the best decision we could have made for him, especially as he is one of the youngest in his class.

My son joined in January. They have made him feel comfortable and confident and enjoys attending. They have also made me feel very comfortable. My son has come on with development stages and tells me how much he enjoys being there.

Fantastic nursery and all the staff are lovely. My daughter still gets really excited when it’s her day to go; she always comes out with the biggest smile. Love the fact that they have a large outdoor play area.

We have been so happy with the nursery for our son. The school is amazing and very nurturing, and you can tell the experience the staff have in helping the children feel safe and happy in the setting.

The nursery is fantastic. Our daughter has thrived and developed so much since she has attended. Their communication on general school news and individual reports on our child, are regular and very detailed.

Springfield Nursery is a very warm and welcoming environment. The preschooler’s mix with the reception children at certain points in the day with different activities. It has a nice outside, shady area. The teachers are lovely, with an emphasis on green living, recycling, nature and music/singing. The children do a yoga lesson once a fortnight. This term, the children have learned about colour through history, focussing on the colour green of the Statue of Liberty. The nursery is good for parents looking for term time only school hours provision. Recommended school uniform but not mandatory. Communication is good at pick up/drop off and a helpful ‘communication diary’ between teachers and parents. The app posts once or twice a week for a full-time child. The reception staff was very helpful, responsive and professional.

Both my children are really thriving in this school. One has been in Springfield since reception, now in year two, and the middle child has been in ducklings class for a year, and I hope my 3rd child will do amazingly when she starts in September.

Our daughter has thrived here, thanks to the super helpful and attentive staff. It’s a good mix of assisted activities and free-play, outdoor and indoor, plus sometimes mixing with the older children in reception classes. This is really helping to ease us into a school environment and prepare our daughter for her first years. Our daughter has grown in confidence and independence, and we’re very thankful. Recommend!
