Purbrook Day Nursery & Pre-school

I like chatting to the team about his day and they’re consistently positive and smiley which is refreshing and very welcome after a long day. Keep up the great work and a heartfelt thank you on behalf of my little boy. I don’t usually write reviews but I’m doing it on behalf of my 2 year old son and would like to thank all the team at Purbrook Day Childcare centre & Pre-school for their compassionate attention and assistance with my little pumpkin!

Patient when he needed time to settle in and he is absolutely thriving! His keyworker has really helped him with his speech and I know he adores all of the team! Thank you again and would highly suggest it to anyone! My son has been going here since he was 2 and they have been exceptional with him!

It is excellent enjoyable to show our little one the process of getting food onto the plate. This has been emphasised by the team taking the babies shopping this week for ingredients to then cook treats back at the childcare centre. It is so nice for them to journey real-life scenarios rather than being cooped up all day. This month the childcare centre group are also issuing team awards with parents able to cast a vote.

What a difficult dilemma! Our little one receives such remarkable care from the whole team at Purbrook that it almost felt cruel to single out one member over another. That being said it is excellent to see the team being recognised and rewarded for the work they do. It fills me with self‑assurance that a cheerful workforce are going to create a cheerful setting for my little one to thrive in. It has been an exciting month so far with a new menu launch complete with a recipe book for us to recreate some favourites at home.

No tears, no upset. Now at the age of 3, she can’t wait to go! The team were so much enjoyable and were so engaging while she was in the toddler group; now she is in preschool, she doesn’t even say goodbye; she just wants to see her keyworker and playtime games! The managers are exceptional and keep us up to date with everything in their newsletters or when we see them on drop off/pick up. We can’t suggest the childcare centre enough. My daughter joined the childcare centre 2-years ago; she had a very rocky start and really hated us leaving her, but the team were outstanding with the care/adore and distraction techniques, and after just a few short weeks, she absolutely loved going.

He absolutely loves his days there. The team are so well‑informed about the curriculum and the activities they provide for the kids reflect current best practices. The manager consistently responds promptly to any queries we have and we sense she knows our son really well. He consistently talks about the discovering he does with one of the team and says he does exceptional voices when reading stories to the group!

We recently attended the Open Day and I was amazed by the fantastic new outdoor space and facilities they have. They have a real focus on natural materials, small parts playtime and lots of fantastic discovering opportunities with living animals like chicks, tadpoles and fish. Our son loves the free reign they have when playing outdoors and being able to playtime outside in all weather. During the Open Day, I tried some of the dishes cooked by Lorraine. The jerk chicken with mango salsa was delicious. Our son is a fairly fussy eater but he consistently eats well there. My son has been attending the Preschool for 18 months.

We actually had my son in a different childcare centre close by, but moved him to Purbrook after a bad journey – I can honestly say this is by far the best childcare centre in the area. The team stay at the setting for a long time (which shows the management treat their team well) and they are all really attentive. In particular, two team members are so supportive and really care about the kids. The activities they do are remarkable (hatching chicks at Easter, growing vegetables in the garden, newts in the pond, visits by the emergency services, petting zoo visits, teddy bear picnics… the list goes on). I adore that they have their own in-house chef for lunch/dinner – excellent variety of meals. My son has progressed so much with his speaking, manners, putting his toys away, listening skills since he has been at this childcare centre. 5 stars! An incredible childcare centre in the Purbrook/Waterlooville area!

They have made my return to work so much easier by knowing she is in secure hands with team who are compassionate, attentive and so responsive to her needs. She already knows her likes and dislikes and tends to these so well – they have such a lovely relationship and she has never found it difficult to say goodbye to me.

She and the other team are so patient and will happily adapt to cater for her being tricky at times! This includes when she has found it difficult to wean or get herself off to sleep. Her key worker makes sure she is consistently the first face she sees when I drop her off which reassures us both! All baby team provide exciting opportunities for the kids to learn and explore and are so nurturing. I would highly suggest this childcare centre as one where the kids will thrive. In the short time my kid has been at Purbrook Day Childcare centre, the team in the baby snug and in particular her key worker has been nothing short of incredible.

The team are lovely and very supportive. They look after my fussy son very well and help him to improve his eating. The facility is spotless, tidy and very cosy. The manager is expert and updates is very easy. We are going to miss that place and those people very much Very great childcare centre.

But my son’s key worker and the manager have not given up on him and ensure he has a enjoyable time while at the childcare centre. My son consistently comes home telling us about his day with his keyworker and what enjoyable activities they have done. This week the discussion has been non-stop about the chicks that have hatched and his favourite one he named (who is also a team member at the childcare centre who has consistently got time for my son) I couldn’t be happier with this childcare centre. My son can be a very boisterous boy and his listening ears often go on holiday.

Since he has been coming here, we have noticed such a change in him. He is more confident and has developed in so many ways. He absolutely loves going to childcare centre and I sense such comfort knowing how well looked after he is each day there. He has a great relationship with his keyworkers which I find very important. The childcare centre itself has a inviting, comforting and welcoming sense and I knew it was the right one straight away. My son started back in June, he was 18 months old and I was really worried about how he would be in a childcare centre setting as he only went to a childminder.
