Oakwood House Nursery and Forest School

She’s naturally quite reserved, so we had concerns about her settling in, but the team were nothing short of fantastic with her. What we have most appreciated about Oakwood is that every member of team seems to care genuinely and deeply about every kid in their care, and they are all seen and treated as individuals. The team are also excellent at managing her various allergies, and ensuring that she can join in with cooking activities and that her food is similar to what everyone else is eating. Our daughter has made some excellent friends and comes home every day with stories of forest school adventures, cooking club and crafts. We will be so sorry to leave Oakwood House. Our daughter joined Oakwood House aged nearly three, after we returned from two years abroad.

I have consistently been exceptionally impressed with the hard work of the team in the childcare centre, the quality of the discovering environments both inside and outside, the food provided and extra activities such as yoga and Forest School. The most important aspect of having my kids in the childcare centre was consistently that they enjoyed it and that I felt they were secure. My boys have consistently enjoyed their days at childcare centre, making fantastic long-lasting friendships, and the team are exceptionally well trained and work hard to create a highly secure setting for the kids. Both my boys have been through Oakwood House as their Pre-School journey, so I’ve been involved with the childcare centre for 5 years now.

Outstanding Management and excellent building.

I would suggest to everyone who wants to build their kid’s self‑assurance because the forest school is the best. My daughter learned so much while she was attending Oakwood House Childcare centre, the team were highly supportive, compassionate and patient with her.

The team are lovely – supportive/compassionate/expert and supportive, and my son has loved his key workers from each room. He thrives being outside in all weather, and discovering from the natural setting. The childcare centre have also been highly great with his food allergies, which has been highly reassuring. My son is leaving Oakwood in September to start school, and he has truly enjoyed his time there (from babies, toddlers through to pre-school room).

The story and song were so perfectl­y relevant and definite­ly summed up my feelings about my son’s time at Oakwood. I could not have wished for a better start for him than the brillian­t environm­ent you all create at Oakwood. My son has been nurtured in your care and has thrived. Choosing Oakwood and the forest school has been the best decision I could have made for my son. He’s so ready for school and that is down to the outstand­ing job you have done. He will miss childcare centre greatly. Thanks for a wonderfu­l afternoo­n, to be part of this special leavers lunch was the perfect official way to end the Oakwood journey.

The team, facilities and activities provided are second to none. My son loves every single minute at Oakwood. He has gained in self‑assurance and is a highly cheerful little chap. I can’t praise Oakwood House Childcare centre and Forest School enough and would thoroughly suggest it to any parent (Providing you don’t mind them coming home filthy every now and again!) My son started at Oakwood House Childcare centre and Forest School in the baby room, he’s now a toddler and has flourished at Oakwood.

The team at Oakwood House are so welcoming and welcoming, including the office team too. The chef is incredible and went out of his way to prepare remarkable individual meals for my kid with coeliac disease and made sure my son’s food looked like his friends’.
The outdoor space is remarkable and my kids adore exploring and have developed their adore of nature and the outdoors, as well as their self‑assurance.
The key workers my kids have had are so compassionate and care for the kids as if they are their own. Both my kids have loved going to Oakwood House. A fantastic attentive place where both my kids have thrived under the care of the lovely team.

I cannot rave enough about how much he enjoys his time there. He is a highly active little boy which is perfect as there is never a dull moment in the toddler room. The kids absolutely adore being outside in all weathers. They have the right equipment to ensure they are inviting and can focus on having enjoyable. There are no plastic bikes or toys outside, the kids spend organised time enjoying nature and my son is thriving doing that. Of course much of what makes childcare centre enjoyable is the connection kids have with the team. My son’s key worker- he adores her. Talks about her at home and is truly cheerful to see her when we drop her off. She is remarkable. Oakwood House should be proud to have her which I am sure they are. My two year old son is cared for at Oakwood House 2 days per week in the toddler room.

During her time at Oakwood House, she has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and balanced, a highly independent and cheerful girl.
We wanted her to delight in the outdoors and truly get stuck into nature, and we are so pleased with our decision to send her to Oakwood House.
The team are outstanding, highly skilled and highly attentive. Highly suggest this childcare centre and with our second kid due this year, we shall certainly be back. My daughter started in the toddler room in November 2014 and is now due to start school this September.

Both our kids have been at Oakwood House from 6 months onwards. The eldest graduating in September 2015 with a full Forest School diploma in early years life skills -preparing him excellently for his first year at school and also giving him social and physical skills to take into everyday life. Our youngest is currently in Pre-School 1, like his brother loves attending to explore both outdoor and indoor. The outdoor space is one that you could have only have dreamed of as a kid, exploring in all weathers, discovering how plants grow etc and most importantly “where bears live in their den”. The team have been a credit to their profession and have contributed so much to the development of our kids with the right balance of free playtime and structured discovering and adore. Knowing your kid is discovering whilst being active, having enjoyable and eating the healthiest meals is a real comfort. When we have cheers that it is Tuesday and it’s childcare centre, says it all. An incredible place for kids!
