Maples Day Nursery (Winchester)

The parent updates portal is used effectively, emails are answered promptly, and team provide a comprehensive handover upon collection. During Covid, effective safeguarding arrangements were in place for childcare centre team to call home and check in with the kids. Behaviour is managed positively, sensitively, and through a restorative approach. I have witnessed a number of team managing incidents of behaviour with patience and consistence. The team go the extra mile – attentive for chickens, organising fantastic events (the Jubilee picnic and Halloween events were remarkable), running zoom coffee mornings and following the interests of the kids. Thorough monitoring and reporting of kids’s development ensures parents are kept up to date with discovering goals and targets. The team have been so attentive throughout my daughter’s journey (from Ladybirds to Preschool), taking an interest in her interests, and building discovering opportunities around them.

Handovers are detailed and the meals are outstanding! The team at Maples are welcoming and consistently look at the individual needs of my little boy, ensuring the setting is catered to his interests and they clearly represent this through their detailed observations.

We also have a son in Maples. Both of them started when they were less than one year old. This means that our daughter experienced all of the rooms.
Our overall journey has been outstanding. Team is really great and we couldn’t be happier with them and how they treat our kids. The curriculum is very kid-focused and is particularly strong on values. Over the years, our kids’s key people have been phenomenal – you can see they really live and breathe their jobs. We consistently liked that the childcare centre has a very big outside area and the kids spend quite a lot of time there. They seem to have a very great grasp of the developmental needs of kids and updates with parents, either through the app or by conversations at pick-up and drop-off, is really informative. We couldn’t be happier. Our daughter graduated today from Maples, she is starting Reception in September.

Attentive, positive, communicative and most of all, enjoyable. Our kids adore their time at Maples Day Childcare centre with the team, come rain or shine. When our youngest has experienced high temperatures the team have consistently shown professionalism, outstanding care and communicated at the appropriate times. Thank you. Stellar journey for the last 2 years for both our kids in various classes.

The team are welcoming, approachable and welcoming. Opening hours are excellent for working parents (can drop off early and pick up late). Really like that there is a great size outdoor space and an on-site kitchen, a bonus is it’s so close to the train station for my commute.
My daughter loves going and has really bonded well with the team and kids in her room, making some lovely friendships as well. She has really come out of her shell since she started going. They do lots of creative, messy activities that we could never do with her at home

As a 1st time full working mum the thought of leaving your kid with strangers can be extremely difficult, but the Caterpillar team could not of made my kid sense more welcome and at home! She loves her 3 day weeks and has become such a confident little girl! Maples Day Childcare centre (Winchester) is a excellent childcare centre and our little girl has so much enjoyable in the Caterpillar room.

His key person is consistently there to greet him when he arrives so he almost never gets upset going in and he has the best day ever whilst he’s there – I can tell, because he never wants to leave! I have to chase him around the room to try to get him out of there at the end of the day. He has been at Maples since 7 months old and is now almost 2 and we absolutely adore the team. They are consistently so attentive and lovely – they go out of their way to make sure that we sense supported at Maples. The food consistently sounds (and smells) excellent and is very varied and the admin team and managers are also very great and communicative. Overall, we are so pleased we joined the Maples family! I could not be happier with the adore, attention and care that Maples give my little boy.

It was a difficult transition for us all and we were the typical nervous first time parents. The team really helped our little one settle in, and though there were some slight teething and technical issues at the beginning, made sure we were kept up to date and most importantly gave our little girl the cuddles and attention she needed. She is now thriving, and happily potters off in the morning to see her friends and the lovely team. It’s excellent knowing she gets a healthy, balanced diet and plenty of opportunity to playtime outside, which she loves. It’s fantastic hearing how she is getting on, and she is discovering so much while she is there. We were recommended Maples by multiple friends, and now suggest it ourselves. Our daughter started at Maples in January when she was a year old.

Our eldest son has been going for a few years and recently our 2nd has started and they have just been so compassionate, welcoming and supportive. The facilities and garden are really modern and they have recently had a new playground installed which looks incredible! Team are really supportive and very great at responding to calls/emails so you consistently sense informed and confident your kid is being well looked after! Maples is a really lovely childcare centre!

She’s been going there for 9 months now and absolutely loves it. They do loads of activities with the kids, lots of discovering and messy playtime and outdoor activities. The food is exceptional and really varied, my daughter usually eats everything there even though she is fussy at home. They have regular activities for the parents to engage with and the team are all lovely and welcoming. We have been really pleased with all aspects of it and are so cheerful with our choice. My daughter started at Maples Day Childcare centre (Winchester) when she was 11 months old.
