Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Speedwell)

My kid has been going to Mama Bears for 2.5 years now and all the team during this time have been absolutely fantastic. Thank you Mama Bears. My little one treasures going to early‑years hub and seeing all the personnel and other kids, the personnel go above and beyond and I’m so grateful for them all. I genuinely have no faults at all, my youngster is a challenging one and they have done everything they can to accommodate his needs. Without them, I’d be lost as they have helped us massively with everything.

Thanks to all the crew! My boy has settled well and enjoys his time at Mama Bears. The contact from personnel is effective and the app is a lovely way to see what my little one is up to during the day. The personnel are exceptionally welcoming and got to know him quickly. He enjoys the variety of activities on offer.

Very poor and inconsistent correspondence from the early‑years hub on canceling sessions, ranging from an email to not being informed until you’re at the door! Staffing issues by their own admission, yet still holding open days and taking on new youngsters when unable to provide care for the ones currently on regular hours!

We get newsletters, and notes on the outside of the door about reminders of upcoming events. It’s had its share of team and management turnover but the team are great. They are always pleased to go to nursery setting and we have always felt like they are enjoyed and cared for. We have been with Mama Bears for 3 years and think it’s great. The update photos and assessments are great, gives us something to talk to them about when they get home. Our boys treasure their key workers and look forward to seeing them each day. The manager always responds to emails regarding extra hours/change of days and has made the childcare centre a positive and organised place, and she is always warm and cordial when dealing with us.

I enjoy seeing the updates on the app! Very pleased my girl goes to and it will get her into a good routine for school in the future. They are really good at organising themes or activities for the kids to do, including the messy activities that we don’t always do at home. My little one is enrolled at this nursery setting as one of the preschool group full time. Plus the garden area is large with plenty of toys. I’ve always had some ‘mum guilt’ about her full time attendance but she always seems so pleased about her time at the early‑years hub and talks fondly about her friends and carers there when at home, so it makes me feel a lot better.

Staff have been exceptionally attentive in helping us resolve any issues our little one has been having (settling etc). Overall a fantastic team. We have had two exceptionally pleased years at this childcare centre. The only real criticism is the amount of team turnover, especially in the preceding year, although personnel do their best, obviously, there is less continuity of attention and session availability is disrupted. It’s lovely to see the different activities that the little ones are engaging in.

Highly advocate it to anyone looking for great attention and support for your little one. My youngsters have made lots of friends with the pupils and personnel and I can see such a difference in their growth in just the 5 months they have been going! The crew are really cordial and approachable and the updates is great. They regularly update the app which is great for peace of mind when you are at work. I have two little ones who go to this Nursery and they have cherished it from day one.

He has also come out of his shyness and has built a good relationship with some of the mentors. All the crew are supportive with my boy. Great support from them all. As I have been trying to get him potty trained and get him out of nappies and to sit on the toilet to do wees and poos.

The personnel have been really good at encouraging her to have some independent playtime but also thrilled to cuddle her if that’s what she wants just adapting to what my girl would like. My girl started here when she was 12 months old and although it took some time to settle in, she now is truly delighted. I have found everyone accommodating and apart from one cancelled session (which was refunded) I’ve not experienced any issues.

They are always clear and communicative about changes happening at the early‑years hub and pleased to answer any questions I have. Her key workers helped her make that transition and change of routine with ease. We cherish that they celebrate numerous holidays and my girl is able to period and discover about many different cultures. She enjoys coming to nursery setting and seeing her nursery setting friends every day. We have been using Mama Bear’s Day Nursery & Pre-School for a little over a year now. The team keeps their in house app updated regularly with wonderful pictures which really make my day. My child’s recent move up from the baby room to the bouncy bears room was seamless. There always seems to be a variety of activities for her to engage in. We receive emails with updates and newsletters as well as everything being posted on the nursery setting door for transparency. The nursery setting has had some personnel turn around and some struggles but the personnel and management have stayed positive and accommodating throughout all their challenges.
