Little Flyers @ West Calder Nursery

My son started at Little Flyers at 9 months old and settled in straight away. He absolutely loves it! All the staff are fantastic – they’re enthusiastic, friendly, attentive and very clearly love their jobs. It’s wonderful never having to worry about my child when I’m at work as I know he’s happy, safe and having a great time. I’m impressed with the range of toys they have – lots of sensory and Montessori type play, as well as plenty of messy and outdoor play. I think the nursery really excels in involving parents and carers and providing individualised care for each child.

My son has been attending Little Flyers @ West Calder & Out of School Care from 9 months old. From the first visit, we felt he would be in a safe and comfortable environment.

Being at nursery he has thrived and often comes home with new skills or interests. An example of this is one day we finished reading a story and asked him to get us another book, he took the old book back, put it away and brought a new storybook over to read. We had never taught him this! This was at 12 months.
He has made great friends at nursery and the staff are excellent. There have been times he has been unwell or fallen over as toddlers do and have exceptionally good care taken of him.
From his time at nursery, he has started talking, walking, playing and feeding himself completely.
We couldn’t be happier with the Little Flyers team!

I have found Little Flyers @ West Calder to be a lovely setting to send my daughter to. The staff are very friendly and caring and do their best to help my daughter. I have been very impressed with the flexibility as I have had to change a few days and these have been covered by the nursery when they had space. Really happy we chose this nursery.

Both our children have just started at this nursery and the staff have been so welcoming and friendly. Right from the beginning they have answered all our questions and made sure we had all the information we needed. The settling in sessions went great and the team there have helped our children settle in and they really enjoy it and can’t wait to get back. I feel the nursery tries to keep parents involved as much as possible and keeps them up to date with what’s happening. There’s a lot of little touches that make it unique and give it that family feel. A great choice of nursery for our children.

My daughter has been with Little Flyers West Calder for over 2 years now. She now spends mornings here and afternoons with her government-funded nursery. My daughter has an excellent relationship with the team and I have no doubt she is in safe and capable hands when with them. In the last 6 month’s we have noticed a huge change in her confidence and independence skills which has been encouraged by her key worker. I return to work soon from maternity and I will have no hesitation introducing my son to their baby room when the time comes. I cannot recommend them enough.

Little Flyers is an amazing childcare provider with wonderful staff that are dedicated to looking after the safety and well-being of all children. They provide healthy food and snacks and a wide variety of activities to help kids develop a range of skills.

Our little boy has been going to Little Flyers for a year now and he loves it. He took some time to settle in but the staff were fantastic, always catering for his needs and keeping us informed of his progress.
He has since moved into the toddler room and seems really happy there. He loves being outside and the garden is great for little adventurers. He’s also been taken on a number of trips and outings which he loved.
The whole team are brilliant and very friendly. They made it so much easier for me to leave him knowing he was being so well looked after.

My 3 children attend Little Flyers @ West Calder – My 2 oldest are picked up from school by Little Flyers staff and attend in the ‘After School’ rooms where the staff are really friendly, helpful and informative – and the atmosphere is always great. My children actually ask me to pick them up as late as I can because they enjoy it so much! My youngest son attends the Junior rooms during the day and always has a very positive experience. The staff and management are 1st class. I would absolutely recommend Little Flyers @ West Calder.

This is the first time since my little one has been anywhere without me, he is finding the transition hard when I drop him off, however, when he is inside with the lovely colleagues he is straight into the toys. The app used is fantastic as seeing what they have been upto, also get messages from colleagues to say he is okay after having a breakdown going in – which makes me feel so much better, such lovely girls that work there, the activities are brilliant, colleagues are so friendly and helpful, the app also shows nappy changes (I’m sad and like to know his bowel movements haha) and what he has eaten that day, makes me feel so much better – being the control freak that I am, I love knowing these things. Facilities are brilliant and colleagues are so accommodating for your child needs. Honestly, so far it has made my going back to work so much easier, just take time for him to stop with the mum guilt trip haha.

My son has been attending for some time. When he started he was very shy and played by himself. Since attending he has become really confident and has made loads of friends. It has been great to see him grow and have lots of different experiences. The app is brilliant and allows us to follow what he is up to during the day. The staff are brilliant and he loves attending nursery.
