ParkingYou can park in the car park right next to the nursery called St. Peters Car Park.

VisitingThey do show rounds of their nursery every day between 10am and 4pm. You are more than welcome to visit with your child and see if they are a good fit for you and your family. Show arounds generally last 1hr or so. You will get to see all the units from babies to toddler and pre school. You will be able to walk around the garden and see all the children playing and learning though-out their day.

DirectionsTheir nursery is situated in the city centre of Winchester. It is between St. Peters car park and St Beed's Primary School. They are based on Gordon road which is very close to the main Leisure centre in the city of Winchester You are able to park in St. Peters car park to drop off your child.

September 6, 2024 at 10:20 pmWe have been very impressed with the care both kids receive during their time at Kingsmead. The team are very attentive and are outstanding about communicating with us. Kingsmead provides many different age-appropriate activities for the kids; their garden is outstanding. I would highly suggest anyone who is looking for a childcare centre to care for their kid/kids to give strong consideration to Kingsmead. We have two kids at Kingsmead Day Childcare centre in Winchester, one baby and one pre-schooler.

October 24, 2024 at 9:17 pmKingsmead has provided her with so many unique and fantastic experiences from day one – painting using her feet wrapped in bubble wrap (as a baby); an outing on the bus to buy baking ingredients (She recalls this every time the number one bus goes past); toasting marshmallows and hot dogs on the fire pit; regular musical theatre and forest school sessions, the list goes on. The childcare centre also puts on a very sweet Christmas nativity and lovely Mothers Day and Fathers Day events. There is really nothing to fault – the facilities are bright & spotless with a recently upgraded garden and the team are so invested in the kids, and many of the kids move together to the ‘big school’ next door to continue their friendships. We can’t suggest Kingsmead highly enough as a first step on your kid’s discovering journey and we are so glad we have another daughter who has just started hers at Kingsmead. Our older daughter has just transitioned to ‘big school’ after four fantastic years at Kingsmead.

They have helped her overcome her shyness and is now growing in self‑assurance every single day! The meals she receives are outstanding and I am often quite jealous of dinners. I couldn’t suggest Kingsmead Day childcare centre enough. Thank you for all you do. My daughter started Kingsmead back in September 2019.

November 29, 2024 at 12:49 amHe was warmly welcomed into the Kingsmead Day Childcare centre community and loved the enjoyable activities he participated in (arts and crafts, dance, sports, baking etc). He was well prepared by the remarkable team to start year R. Our daughter then started in the baby unit in August 2021 and based on her excitement when we drop her off, loves it. We have been very impressed by the creativity that goes into the planning at Kingsmead Day Childcare centre, even for the littlest ones (trips to the park, painting for earth day, baking etc.). The team is super attentive and have taken the time to get to know her – they even know her favourite song – “row row row your boat”. The garden is terrific and well maintained and the kids go out quite often. The updates is excellent and we get updates through blossom (+pictures) which has been super supportive. Overall, we absolutely adore the team and the childcare centre! After a move from the states, our son finished up pre-school at Kingsmead Day Childcare centre in August 2021.

January 6, 2025 at 3:41 amWe loved the outdoor space and all of the activities that the childcare centre organised including the incredible Christmas concert. The team were all remarkable, it was a real family atmosphere which put them at ease and has really set the kids on their way. The location was perfect with easy parking in the centre of the city for drop off and collection. We are so grateful for the time and effort that the childcare centre put into our kids during their time there. We would highly suggest to anyone looking for a day childcare centre. Both of our kids loved their time at Kingsmead in Winchester, prior to progressing to their prep school.

The facilities are excellent and the activities they do are so creative and stimulating. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest it. Our son has been at Kingsmead for over two years and has consistently been really cheerful there.

They were so compassionate about letting me come often to settle him in before his actual start date and have taken such fantastic care of him since then. He loves it there. We wish somehow we could pick up Kingsmead and move it with us back to the States! We could not be more pleased with our journey at Kingsmead Day Childcare centre.

April 22, 2025 at 11:11 pmShe enjoys the activities and is very stimulated by her time there. The team are really switched on and know each kid very well. The pre-school unit seems a bit cramped but the baby unit is very spacious. The garden is really lovely and well-appointed. My daughter has been at Kingsmead since she was 6 months old and has consistently loved it. My daughter really loves being at Kingsmead Day Childcare centre.

May 5, 2025 at 3:17 pmOur little one absolutely loves going there…he looks forward to it every day and when he comes home he loves talking about how much enjoyable he had with all of them. They have excellent facilities with big open playtime areas outside and inside; they have lots of toys and books, and they feed these kids well! I can’t say enough great things about them! If there was a rating above Outstanding, they would earn it! The ladies at Kingsmead are the best!
